Andrew is 10 Months!

Well, I skipped the nine month post, and I am half way through 10 months, so I thought I better hurry and post. (This is actually a picture of Andrew when he was 9 and a half months.) Andrew is quickly growing up. He thinks that he is as big as the other kids. He took his first steps at the end of nine months. However, he rarely walks. He loves to babble. If the kids are yelling and squealing he will too. He still loves to growl. He loves food, if he sees us eating he expects us to share. He still loves watching animals and grabbing them if they are within reach. He can now go up and down stairs and is completely obsessed with the stairs if he can see them. He loves the toilet and has already figured out how to lift the toilet seat so he can play in the water.- yuck! He likes to shake his head no and will do it non-stop if he thinks it is holding our attention. He also likes to make a surprised look with his face. He is still such a good baby and a delight to have around. I can't believe how quickly this year is going.

Trip to Hawaii

The entire Jensen family took a trip to Hawaii in November. I'll admit I was a little nervous traveling with the kids, but it turned out GREAT! It was such a fabulous trip. The kids loved hanging out with their cousins and playing on the beach and at the pool. We all took tons of pictures! I didn't want to post all of them, so here are a few highlights of the trip!

Bodell and Skyler going snorkeling for the first time. The kids all loved the beach. There was always something fun to do.

Brigham sleeping through his entire dinner. The only complaint I have about the trip was the time change. The kids really struggled with the change. Brigham played HARD during the day and then would crash right around dinner. Because he would go to bed so early, he would be up and ready to play by 3:30 in the morning. It was a bit brutal.

Snorkeling off Waikiki beach. AWESOME!

Here we are at the Polynesian cultural center showing off our tattoos.
I LOVED the Polynesian cultural center. I wish that we had had more time there.

At the luau at the Polynesian Cultural Center.

Gotta love Andrew's face!-- not so much Brigham's (in this picture).

It was such a great trip. I already want to go back. Thanks Steve and Amber for a great time!!!

Brigham's kind of Scriptures

On Sunday we went to dinner at my parent's house. The kids found a Toys R Us ad in the Sunday paper. It was a large toy catalog. They all immediately starting pouring over the pages deciding what they wanted for Christmas. I think they asked for about one of everything. When it was time to eat, I told the kids they needed to put the catalog away. Brigham could hardly eat, he was excited to get back the catalog. After he finished he asked, "Where is the toy SCRIPTURES?"

Halloween 2009

Happy Halloween! Here are the happy trick-or-treaters.

Shae the ROCK STAR!

Brigham the skeleton. Brigham wanted to wear his costume every day. He did practically wear his shirt everyday in October.

Bodell the vampire.

Andrew the tiger. What a scary looking tiger.

Pumpkin Carving

It is that time of the year again. We carved our pumpkins this week. Here are the before pictures: Shae's pumpkin.

Brigham's pumpkin. I am not sure why Brigham thinks this is the standard pose.

Bodell's pumpkin.

DURING:

Shae thought carving the pumpkins was disgusting. She could not handle cleaning out the inside. She sat there dry heaving and asking us for gloves while she scooped out the inside.

Bodell new exactly how she wanted to carve her pumpkin. For the first year, she was able to do it all on her own.

Here I am helping Shae with her cat pumpkin. You will notice Andrew is in the backpack. He is such a busy body now, many times this is the only way I can get anything done. He loves it because he thinks he is part of the action.

Andrew thought the whole process was very exciting.

The finished products.

Halloween Party

We had our annual family Halloween party on Monday. We had a great time. Here, my mom and I are showing off our witchy side.

Hee Hee.

Susanne brought a fun Goblin game. The kids squeeled in delight each time their ghost was attacked.

We had a donut eating contest. Bodell was determined to win.

Brigham was hilarious during the contest. He knew that he was supposed to eat the donut fast, but he didn't really understand the concept of not using his hands. So, when I said go, he grabbed the donut and started going to town on it. It looked so funny. He thought he was really doing a great job.

Halloween Fun At Sunny's

Sunny invited us over for some Halloween fun. The kids started by decorating Halloween cookies.

Brigham's idea of a good cookies is as much frosting and candy as can fit on the cookie. When everything starts to fall off, it is time to eat it. How is it Brigham?

After cookies, we made mummy pizzas. Shae thought they were delicious. She ate her mummy, then Sydney's mummy and finally Sunny's mummy.

Bodell's delicious mummy.

Bodell put a lot of thought into her cookies. She was very proud of the result.

Lastly we made a witch cake. Here Sunny is putting the icing on with the help of Shae's instruction.

The whole crew: Jet, Brigham, Tenli, Sydney, Bodell, Brittany, Presley and Shae.

Everyone show us your serious face.

I want to EXIT

The other day we were to Monticello in the Merc. The kids happened to peak into the mini golf course. They had it decorated for Halloween. The entire course was lit by black lights and had lots of spooky characters through out. Shae and Brigham thought this was amazing. They wanted to play mini golf right then. Because I was in a hurry, and because Bodell was not there, I promised them we would come back on the weekend and play a round of Halloween mini golf (or as Brigham called it all week, "mini golf in the dark!") Everyday of that week the kids asked if it was the day that we would be playing mini golf in the dark. Brigham told Josh all about it and my Grandma and Aunt. The excitement was building each day. Finally it was Friday and we were counting the hours until we would play golf. We invited Sunny and Sydney to join us. When we arrived at the mercantile, the kids ran ahead and took a peak again while I was paying for the golf. When they peaked in, Shae and Brigham heard a plastic witch say, "I wouldn't go in there if I were you." They came running back and said they were too scared to go inside and they didn't want to play. I couldn't believe it! They both were hysterical about going in. Finally I convinced Brigham to let me hold him just inside the door and we would talk about what was inside. We stepped inside the door. On the door was an Exit sign. Here is our conversation:
Brigham: What does that sign say?
Mom: Exit
Brigham: What does that mean?
Mom: It means where you go out.
Brigham: I WANT TO EXIT!

Just to finish the story: Sunny finally said to Shae that if she played golf, she could tell her class at school that she played mini golf in the dark. That was all it took. She immediately got down from Sunny's arms and started playing. This made Brigham much more brave and he did the same. It was funny to see Shae play. She kept looking over her shoulder while she was playing to make sure nothing was going to get her. Ridiculous!

Ladies! Ladies! Ladies!

My mom, sister and I had a ladies weekend a couple of weeks ago. It was SO MUCH FUN!!!! I left ALL the kids at home and went to Salt Lake. We started the day off by going to one of my favorite places for lunch. Cafe Rio. Oh, how I miss that place. As always it did not disappoint me.

Next we went to Gardner village where Halloween was in the air. We loved looking at all the cute shops and halloween decorations. Of course, I could not pass up this great witch hat up.

What is a trip to Salt Lake without a visit to Tai Pan? Nice pumpkin Heather!

Friday night we went to the Odyssey dance studio's performance of Thriller. I loved it!!! The entire show had a Halloween theme. My mom, on the other hand, had a hard time watching some of it because it was a bit gruesome. Before the show started the dancers were in the lobby dressed as Zombies. They were trying their best to annoy and scare you. My mom HATED these zombies. They gave her the creaps. I didn't care for them either, but it was hilarioius to see the reaction they got from people (including my mom.)

Here we are posing with one of the zombies.

Friday night we stayed in a hotel, then Saturday morning we watched Heather's flag football team.

We spent the rest of Saturday shopping. We decided to pamper our tired shopping feet by having pedicures at the mall.

Sadly this was my very FIRST pedicure. But, it definitely WON'T be my last! We ended our weekend by a visit to the Desert Star comedy Melodrama. I had such a great time and love, love, love spending time with my sister and mom. Until next year ladies.......

Way to Go Bodell!

Bodell participated in the walk-a-thon for her elementary school. She places third out of the entire school for most laps around the school. She was surprised because she didn't realize it was a competition, so she is already getting geared up for next year. She was so proud of the medal she won. She wore it the entire day. Great job Bodell!

Andrew is 8 months!

Andrew is 8 months old! He is such a busy boy now. He loves to crawl and explore everything. He is cruising furniture and loves to feed himself. He constantly wants to be where the big kids are. They can always make him laugh. He babbles, squeels, growls and laughs frequently. He is such a joy to have. We all love him to pieces!!
