Kite Flying

So, the wind blows here a lot. I feel like I'm still in Idaho at times because it never seems to cease. The good thing about that is, Evan was able to get out a kite and fly it. I taught him how the other day, and his dad helped him yesterday, but he pretty much is getting it down. He is really cute doing it, and loves it.

Isn't he just so cute!!

This is a video of him flying his kite.

Easter 2009

Saturday we had a wonderful Easter egg hunt with our kids and some of our friends. The kids had a lot of fun, and I forgot to take pictures!! However, Easter morning was also fun as the kids hunted for their Easter baskets. We were trying to help Brayden without telling him where it was at, so I asked him to open up the blinds so we could see outside. He tried really hard, and when he couldn't do it he let it drop. I thought for sure he hadn't seen his basket, and he hadn't, but once he stepped back he saw it as the curtain had stopped on it and didn't cover it back up. It was cute to watch him find it. That is what's going on in the first two picts.

This is Brayden exploring what is in his basket.

Evan finally found his in this cupboard. We gave him hints to look in the cupboards, and he kept missing this one because it is apart from the rest.

Evan exploring his basket.

This is one of our beautiful Easter flowers that Josh got for us. They opened up so fabulously! I think they are really beautiful.

Over all, it was a great day. We made Resurrection rolls (these were pretty cool. You put a marshmallow dipped in butter and then cinnamon and sugar inside a crescent roll, seal it up and bake them. When we went to eat them they were hollow or empty inside. We were able to use this as a metaphor for the kids using the marshmellow as Jesus, the butter as the anointing oil, the cinnoman and sugar as the spices, and the roll as the cloth. Once they were empty we were able to compare it to the tomb. The kids liked them.), and we also were able to have a great time together. Happy Easter everyone.

Oh, here is the link to the website we got our resurrection rolls idea from: www.theideadoor.com Really a great website full of many different ideas.

Easter Egg FHE

For FHE this week we colored our Easter Eggs. It was pretty fun, but really non messy as we only let the kids do stickers this year. Josh gave a lesson on the ressurection and Atonement by using this easter basket and hiding the paper eggs inside the plastic eggs for the kids to find. They had fun.

Sunny Day = Work

Yesterday was a beautiful day! So, since we are not going to get work done on Saturday because the weather isn't suppose to be very good, and because we will be watching conference, Josh decided to stay home and get some more work done. We put in a new ceiling fan, finished our closet organizer and Josh got more of our big bush cut away. This thing is massive, and it is the spot we will use for our garden, so it needs to be gone soon. He has worked very hard on it and has done a great job thus far, he is only about half done though. Then there are the rocks and the tree stumps to get out of the ground before we get it tilled. Anyway, it was a good day.

This is the remnants that he has cut off thus far.

Evan enjoyed the weather as well.

Brayden is a cool dude in his Father's hat and his own sun glasses.

This is Evan's worm they found. The pictures below show what the boys did for a good 30 minutes. They looked for worms and bugs. Really cute, all three of them.

Like Father like sons. They all had to look in the dirt.

I got some errands ran, and was able to get some other needed things done in our room. We've lived here 8 months, and I am now just getting to the organization of our bedroom. Go figure it would be the last room done!!
