NY State Fair 2011

So, Saturday we decided to have some fun!! The NY state fair is going on right now, and we LOVE fairs. . . well, everyone but Josh, but he goes because he loves us. It was really SO MUCH FUN!! If I could, I would go again. Maybe next year I'll plan for TWO trips to the fair :) The one thing that didn't work out so well was our camera. The story goes like this: old camera broke, must document all kid cuteness, must get new camera, got new camera, camera has rechargeable battery, mom doesn't know how long that battery lasts and in an oversight didn't plug it into the charger the night before the fair. SO, the result was just a few pictures of fun from the first hour we were at the fair. I'll recap what wonderful pictures we all missed out on because of my little oversight.

On to the pictures we did get. . .

Evan went on this ride by himself. . . a fun house in the bigger rides section where he is getting tall enough, but Brayden isn't. So it was the only one we explored on that side. Doesn't he look like he's having fun coming down that slide?

They both got a picture outside of it though.

I wanted to see how the twins would do on a baby ride. . . as expected. Andrew LOVED it, and Addison hated it. She started crying just after this picture was taken. Good thing they were the only kids on the ride so we could just have the operator stop it.

This is the caterpillar roller coaster. They had fun on this.

This was one of Evan't favorite. Who can blame him, it's one of my favorite rides too. He was apprehensive about going on it, I talked him into it cause i know his love for swinging, and of course, Mother knows best!! He LOVED it. Brayden loves all rides. I don't think he was ever apprehensive or scared of any of them. He just has fun on all of them.

The babies were cute watching the boys. They liked waving at them.

This is a ride we all went on. Josh went with Andrew, Evan and Brayden together, and Addison and myself. NOT A GOOD RIDE. I held on to Addison SO tight so she wouldn't freak out. She actually did really well. The ride itself was REALLY bumpy and jerky, and a lot faster than we thought, in hindsight we would not have chosen this one to take the babies on had we know. They seemed to do ok though.

Isn't she just so cute!!!

The pictures that we wanted to get but missed are:

1. Great pictures of Zuma Zuma!! Yes, the same Zuma Zuma from AGT.
2. Eating SO much great food! Corn dogs, cotton candy, massive shaved ice, chocolate bananas and marshmallows, you get the point. Baby's were SO cute eating all of the above.

and last BUT NOT LEAST. . .

3. CURTIS STONE!!!!! He was on the free stage doing a cooking demo. It was so much fun to watch and just a real treat. The babies had fallen asleep (and looked so cute that an official fair photographer took their picture of them sleeping), so it was a perfect time to just sit back and watch or rather listen to and watch this Aussie do his thing. It was really fun.

I love fairs. . . at least the small local Ellis Hollow Fair is still to come. Not so much fun, but they do have cotton candy, so we look forward to it, and we go.

Can't wait until we can go again next year!!

Watkins Glen

So, we went to Watkins Glen state park last Saturday. It was a Stake activity so there were a few people there that we knew! We decided to go on a hike in the morning when we first got there. Then we waited patiently for lunch to be served. It was scheduled for 12 noon, a good time to eat, but as it got closer, they changed it to 12:30. . . not so good for the kids. They were getting a little restless at that point. It worked out eventually because time didn't stand still, but it seemed to be the longest half hour of the whole day!
After lunch we took the kids swimming in the pool there. Unfortunately the water was cold and the sun was hiding, which really wasn't a surprise since this area isn't really used to seeing it all that much. So we didn't stay in long. It was fun though, and the hike was beautiful!! It was nice having an extra set of hands to help with the twins, thanks John. Three adults to four kids was a great ratio!!

This is cute Brayden. He just couldn't get that hat to sit on his head correctly.

Evan in a little crack in the rocks.

Brayden was suppose to be taking a picture here, I took the picture, but he was busy with something else.

Josh thinks this is such a wonderful portrayal of our kids. Brayden being silly, Evan helping and trying hard, Andrew giving a cute smile he is trying to actually hold in, and Addison looking at us like we are all crazy and why is she doing any of this. It's a cute photo of the kids though.

Here is a picture of the view. Addison LOVED looking at the view over the edge. It was getting old trying to get her to move on, or trying to get her to not look so far over. She is cute saying, "wow, andoiopwen;laskhd" I don't know what it all meant, but she was cute.
Here is another picture of the rocks and water winding through.

Evan found this great hole to take a picture through. This was actually our turn around point. It was a great hike and we will probably do it again next time we go. Really a beautiful area.

ps. (for my sisters who care) we could actually hear the NASCAR cars zooming around the track while we were on the first part of our hike. I know the track is near, but didn't think that close. I count it as having attended a NASCAR event.

July fun

So, whenever I empty my camera, I pick out a few pictures to put on my desktop to add to the blog. Well, now that SO many have collected on my desktop I guess it is time to actually get them on here!

For as slow as the first week of August was, July seemed to go by pretty quickly. It was full of hot days and fun in the sun for the kids.

The got to play in the pool a lot!

Andrew really took to it and loved being in the water.

Addison just liked to splash it with her hands. She was cute anyways.

We got the bounce house out during the 4th of July weekend, and as you can see, we really did play hard that weekend. Brayden fell asleep in it. He said he was just drying off, but he was totally out. So cute.

We also got lucky and found two cars on craigslist for the babies!! They were even being sold by the same lady so I didn't even have to run around finding two separate places!

They really think they are great!
I love how Addison made it all the way to the garage. She looks like she is waiting for it to open so she can go and park her car. Silly girl.

Evan and Brayden like to find interesting bugs. They came in the house one day with this little beauty. It turns out it's really a common moth caterpillar that we should see a lot, but really no one does from what we could tell. Evan did a whole discovery sheet on this little guys. He's pretty weird looking.

This was on our way to church one day, it's just a plain cute picture.

Addison and Andrew like to wrestle together a little. They get a little crazy and then someone usually ends up crying, but it's cute up until that happens.

These were the best shots I could get of them "wrestling".

Some friends came and visited who used to live here, and we all met at a park to play. The kids love going to parks!

Brayden still loves to say a cheesy cheese while taking photos.

Addison and Evan play pretty well together at times. He is a big helper with the babies and they really love him.

He even let Addison be in the front a couple of times.

Addison likes getting into things by herself. She was having fun with this one because it was just her size.

Evan likes posing for pictures and getting good shots. He's the only one I could ever get to do this. At this point anyway.

Josh and the two older boys then went on a hike up the falls. The playground was at the bottom area of the falls, and they decided it would be a nice hike up. I drove to the top with the twins and met them there. The boys seemed to do well. Evan really enjoyed the hike, but Brayden was getting worn out by the end.

As you can tell, again Evan is posing for a picture. He likes getting all dressed up and taking an action photo. He's a lot of fun. Brayden has really enjoyed playing with him and vice versa. They both have a hard time playing if the other one is doing something else, or not around for the time being.

Well, let's hope that I keep up better with the blog so we don't have anymore of these kind of blogs where it's all rushed and nothing gets said well. Have a great rest of the summer!!
