Brayden's 8th Birthday!!

Brayden turned 8!!
I can't believe he has grown so much.  He still seems so little to me!

For his breakfast, we had cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate, his favorite.

Here he is leaving for his first day of school as an 8 year old.

You can't see him very well, but he is running out of the building for the start of our Pokemon training excersise/treasure/scavenger hunt!
He got called down to the office and was handed a clue.  He went to the nurse who handed him a bag full of a pokemon hat and shirt to change into.  The clue then told him to come find us where we pick him up at.  He found us.

His next clue led him to Toys R Us, where he got to use a gift card to pick out some new Pokemon cards.
The cashier handed him his next clue.  It led us to a training arena - really a place called Monkey Joe's.  They played and played there for about 45 min.

This was a great candid shot of Addison sliding down a slide!  It was super cute!
Once we were worn out there, we went to leave.  Where the employee of the place gave Brayden another clue!
Thank goodness that led us to Texas Roadhouse because we were all starving at that point!  Josh even met us there.

Brayden got to sit on the saddle and get sung to!  He loved it!
When the waitress brought our check, she also brought Brayden another clue!  It led us to the battle arena. . . really, home.
Once here he got to open more presents.

And became rich in doing so!  I did take him to Wal-mart later so he could get MORE Pokemon cards, that was what he wanted to spend some of his money on.  He saved most of it at least!

Then he battled Victini, his cake.  It turned out ok, but at least he loved it!

It was a fun day for him and he was super happy the whole day!  When he finally went into his room, he found his last clue of the day.  It just told him he was now fully trained and to remember to thank those who put the day together. . . meaning go kiss your mother!  He did, but he was very sincere about his thanks, and he was just so thankful for everything along the whole way.  This is why I love doing stuff for him, he is always so excited and grateful!
Happy 8th Birthday Brayden.  Glad you had such a fabulous day!

October Miles for Maple Grove

This is a run they did at the elementary school.
Here is Brayden with his class getting ready to start.

Great shot of them starting!

Even better shot of Brayden starting!

He ran most of the mile.

As you can see by his face, he was tired!

Evan walked with his friends until the last few yards, then they ran.  It was what they decided to do.  So funny.  I told him to run next time!

I wished I had gotten a picture of Evan filming the event.  He's in the schools media group and had to film at the starting line.  He was doing such a great job!  I should have gotten a picture of him taking the video of everyone else!

October General Conference

Conference is a great time.  Not only do we get to listen to the General Authority's and the Prophet, but we get to think of ways to keep our hands busy so our ears really can listen!

So, we decorate treat bags.
Then we put treats in them.

We put their photos on the wall to add sticky notes to as they speak about things that we liked in the talk.

And we craft.

Brayden made this hat.  Evan is working on a scarf.  It's done now, but I haven't gotten a picture of him wearing it yet!

It was a really great weekend!

Corn Maze and last camping trip!

We got to go to a really fun corn maze in September.  It's called Geisler Farms and it had so many fun activities!
There was this cool photo op!
 and these SUPER fun slides!
We all tried it once at least if not a few times, all except Andrew.  He's rather cautious about fast and the unknown!

So we started to take pictures here. . . look how tall!
Now Addison and Brayden and Andrew sticking out behind the back!
and now all three! or wait, all four!  Andrew is still sticking his head out back!
These were also great picture opts.
 Andrew

 Addison

 Brayden

Evan!

Finally to the maze!
where they all did really, really well!

Addison only made it about 4 clues, but we were close to an exit, so she left with Josh and I went on with the three boys.
We found all the markers and filled out our whole sheet!  They did great and we only had a hard time finding one clue, so I let them loose and after running around for a couple of minutes we found it.  It was just in the middle of a bunch of tiny turns and lines and switchbacks, hard to keep track of on a map!

Once we made it out, they played some more on the hamster wheel.

On the giant tire swing.

played on the duck races a little.

and back to the hamster wheel!

Oh, and we didn't forget the pedal carts!

It was a super fun place and hardly crowded!  We went on an afternoon of the big rival football game in the area. . . it was fabulous!

Oh, and Andrew really wanted to go camping, so one last time we went.

We told stories and ate marshmallows and had fun.  It wasn't suppose to rain, but it did, in the middle of the night.  It was fine, we just packed it up in the morning and dried it all out at home.  It was a fun way to end the month of September.
