Jay R. was gluing something for me one night with super glue and Brin was up on the counter watching him. All of a sudden I hear a scream like I've never heard before. I come running upstairs and Brinley has her hand over her eye and is freaking out. Jay R. yells, "she got super glue in her eye." Yep, she super glued her eye shut! What are the chances of that?! It just shot right in her eye. There was no way of getting that thing open. Her eyelashes were completely sealed too. We called poison control and they told us to just get her to the emergency room. So we did and there was nothing they could really do. But don't worry, I got a hefty bill for them to say, "you're just going to have to wait until the glue works itself off." They said 1-3 days. Well 7 days later she finally opened her eye. It was so sad! I have a new respect fo blind people and their parents. Seriously.... what do you do with a child that can't see?! She would ask to "listen" to cartoons. It was the saddest thing! We made up a game and would hand her something and she would have to feel and guess what it was. Even though only one eye was sealed, she couldn't figure out how to open just one and it was really sensitive to open for some reason. Finally on about day 3 she opened the other eye and covered the glued one. I think this episode has left some scars. There has been a couple times she has drawn a picture with someone's eyes sealed shut! LOL!
