Moving. A Mumbo Jumbo of Thoughts.

...not huge news, but we are moving to Southern Utah for the month of October. Juan just left yesterday and the girls and I are waiting until after the American Dental Association Conference to join up with him. It's going to be quite the change for us. Let's just say he said it's like stepping back in time in the small town where we'll be staying. There is no cell phone service, no Internet, and the girls and I will not have a car during the day. It's okay, because we'll just be there for a couple of weeks and we can manage to figure out something to do. I'm really excited for the weekends because Juan will get Fridays off, and we're planning trips to both Mesa Verde as well as Moab. I did get to talk to Juan last night after he arrived at the house the University of Utah has for him. Thank heavens for the "ancient" land line! (I know my parents and grandparents are probably laughing if they are reading this.)

It really will give us some perspective, I think.

This whole month-long diversion is part of his rotation at the U of U. He will treat people on the nearby (well, it's about 40 miles away) reservation. He has enjoyed his first day there so far, and is keeping pretty busy from what I understand.

The girls and I are going to prepare for the trip down this week by cleaning the house, buying food here so we can save a few $$ there (remember, one grocery store,) and packing. Next week, I'm dropping the girls off at my parents' house and the family will take turns watching them while I meet up with Juan in Las Vegas. I'm excited for the ADA convention, even though I'll be a "nobody" with "no clue whatsoever". I'm signed up for classes that look really interesting and will even get to be with Juan for some of them. I'm sure I'll be blogging about the convention sometime in the future.

In the meantime, if you want to get a hold of us anytime during the month of October, it may be an attempt in futility. We'll be back and at 'em in November, though!

In case I don't get to the blog in time... Happy Halloween!
