Nerd Day

The middle school had "Nerd Day" today. Nichole did her best to dress up as a Nerd. I think that she looks pretty good as a nerd and I also think that she should dress like this more often.

Odds and Ends

I just uploaded my pictures from my big camera and I found so many things that I forgot about and wanted to share. They are old and going back as far as November but they are still fun to have around. These two pictures were taken the day Tessa got married. You can see Tyler in his natural habitat. You will recognize him by his fake smile on his face and the refusal to look away from the computer screen. If you come across someone looking like that just take a deep breath and realize they are gone and may not respond to you at all. On the positive side. It is also the time you can take advantage of by asking questions you want "Yes" answers too. They may not know what they are answering yes too but, you are getting the positive answer that you need. For example "Nate may I buy some new clothes for myself?" Nate may I order pizza for dinner?" But be cautious you could mistakenly fall into a trap by not thinking before you ask a question. For example, "Nate do I look fat in this dress?" Always, I repeat always think before you ask.Natalie cooperated nicely for pictures but, Nichole refused any. Doesn't she look beautiful? And Ella she only cooperated when she wanted to. She smiled nicely for the camera now but it took about 15 shots before I got her to do it. (I may of threatened a little too)This is the shot I got prior to the other one. Doesn't she look like she is smelling something really bad?Along the drive to Anchorage I would randomly make Nate putt over the car so I could get some beautiful pictures of the scenery. And it was beautiful.I took this picture after a snow storm but the snow was so compacted in you can't tell really how deep it is. The kids for the most part are walking on top of the snow.Ella was kind enough to make a snow angel for me. She didn't get out of the hotel we were staying in very much so she was anxious to do something fun. She did meet a little girl that was staying next door but, the little girl got really mad at Ella and wouldn't play with her any more when Ella wouldn't trade her game boy for a cheap plastic ring. It was so funny. This picture is of the lunar eclipse. My camera doesn't zoom in very well. But the thing I like most about this picture is all of the air around it. That is because we opened up our garage door and the hot air was meeting with the cold air. But it looks rather cool. This is the only picture I got of Nichole in the whole bunch that I did do. I wanted to get a picture of the kids sitting by the fireplace. With all of our Christmas decorations.

Just a couple more..

I wanted to add just a few pictures that were taken during the actual ceremony at Tessa and Casey's wedding. I had horrible lighting so I turned all of the photos black and white thinking that they would at least look better.Olivia was such a good girl during the ceremony. Actually she is such a good little girl all of the time. She got a ton of attention from everyone the whole week we were there. We got spoiled having this beautiful little girl around us especially since it has been so long since we had a little one around. The night that Tessa got married we offered to pay for the hotel room for Tessa and Casey and Olivia spent the evening with us. It was so much fun. This little guy is Oscar. Ella loved Oscar and like most little dogs he would run away whenever Ella was around. Sometimes she just loves them too much. How awesome is it that Tessa was able to get married in her own home in her slippers. I know she had other shoes to change into but in the moment I think she forgot. It so comfy. And what a contrast from Casey's super nice shoes. Which just happened to be Nate's.Tessa's friend was the one that married her. She is a high priestess. You may kiss the bride. The exchanging of the rings.

Nate's family couldn't make it to the wedding so they made it the best way they could. Via Skype.

What has been going on...

This Friday Nate and I went out on a date. Ahhh I love date nights. We had a couple of different places in mind to try. All of which needed a reservation and we couldn't get one. We ended up going to a place called Kinley's. There was some really great food there. I had the fillet Mignon and Nate had the Halibut. But they also had duck and lamb to choose from. It was so nice to have a chance to get away from the kids and just enjoy the company of my husband.Tyler got student of the month. He was so happy to of gotten student of the month when he had only been in the school for 6 weeks. He got a certificate, a ribbon, and a pencil. It hasn't snowed here for quite a while so I haven't had a chance to wear my super cute new snow boots. So when it snowed the other day I put my boots on and cleaned the patio. Aren't they super cute?

Freezing Cold Alaskan Ocean

On Saturday the family and I went hiking. I have been wanting to go and see the ocean since I got here. Nate just drove and drove toward the ocean not really knowing where we were going except in the general direction of the ocean. We finally found it but, we had to hike to get down to it. It was gorgeous. We could see the ocean currents pulling the ice away from the land and out to sea. It was the perfect day for hiking too. It was a warm 25 degrees outside but that is still 40 degrees warmer then it was just 6 days before that. A view of downtown Anchorage.

New Brother in Law! Welcome to the family Casey!

On our way to Alaska we spent several days with Nate's little sister Tessa and her family. While we were there Tessa got Married! She married this really wonderful guy named Casey. I feel so lucky to be able to of been there for there special day. Before they got married we went outside and took some family pictures and some pictures for the wedding. The light was fading fast and we had less then an hour to get them done. I think they turned out pretty good although I had very little light.
