Mile Run

I have a bunch of things to post about- from our trip to the beach and the fun workshop I went to at the Apple store to Dancing With The Stars. But I need to post this first because I am so proud of Peyton!! She had to do a mile run today in PE and did such a great job! Poor girl hates to run. She won't even play on a soccer team because she doesn't want to have to run. Anyway, this morning we gave her a pep talk and encouraged her to #1. try to run the entire time without stopping, #2. try to keep an even, steady pace, #3. not to worry about where her friends were and #4. DON'T TALK!! Just run!! (She's just like her mom- she has trouble being quiet!)

So, here she is, ponytails flapping in the wind as she runs the ENTIRE time, at her own pace, by herself, while NOT talking to her friends!! :) And the best part is she did it in 9:21!! That's over 3 minutes faster than the last time they did this! YAY!!
GREAT JOB, PATE!!!

What We've Been Up To

Just so you all know, I've been MIA because of my yucky computer! That poor thing had a bad processor and was running SO SLOW! Blog hopping was almost impossible! Anyway, here I sit with my new MacBook that my sweet husband surprised me with the other day!! :) This thing is lightening fast and if I could just figure it all out, I'd be good to go! Next week when the kids are back in school I'll be attending some workshops with the nerds at the Apple store.

Anyway, Peyton's softball season has begun and her team is  off to a 3-0 start! Yay!

I'm thinking that the team is doing so well because of the excellent coaching...
Look alive, Coach Day!

On Saturday the kids were invited to a birthday party at Jump N Fun. Dave always likes to get in on that action.
Sweaty Pate and Virginia.

Later that day, we went to party #2 at Skate World in Kernersville. The last time we went to a skating party, Boy skated for 5 minutes and called it quits. He didn't like it and I didn't think that he would ever want to try it again. After Pate and I started skating, he asked Dave if he could skate.
Poor boy couldn't keep his balance and stand on his own, but he sure did have 7 minutes of fun with his dad!

Susie-skate-a lot had a fabulous time skating and singing with the cool music. Thankfully, she is a good enough skater that she doesn't need me (or want me) to help her skate anymore. Evidently, it's no longer cool to hold hands with your mom in the rink like it was 4 months ago!
There were 2 major injuries at this party- a little girl broke her arm and another girl that fell on her knee and is now in a cast that goes from her hip to her foot! April, we had a great time at the party! And not just because we walked away in one piece!!

Easter Sunday after church we went to visit Mimi and Granddaddy. We went to the 8:30 early service so, by this time, everyone had changed out of their cute outfits and of course I didn't get any family pictures!!

We're headed to the beach, so maybe we'll have some nice weather and I can get some good family pictures.
