So I just spent 10 minutes with Jacob trying to figure out what he wanted me to do with MacBozo, "Dada, there's a lady with MacBozo. Finally I got it, "you mean Ladysmith Black Mambazo! We saw them in concert. Did you have a good time?" "Yeah! It was fun. I was clapping. I want to jump."
Our smart boy.
Both of my men are so smart!!

2011
It has been a while since we posted, but we have been distracted lately. On Nov 19th, we were contacted by our social worker from Jacob's adoption. She had an "adoption opportunity" for us. We decided to try our hand with domestic adoption. The birth mother was due Dec 31st. She was having a little girl who was full African American, and she was in Oklahoma City. We knew that we wanted to adopt again, and we knew that we wanted to do it soon. We were not planning on this exact time frame, but when presented with this idea, we got very excited about it. I am not going to rehash all of the details, but it was not to be. We were defrauded by the birth mother. We are slowly healing and trying to prosecute. It has been a messy situation, and a devastatingly sad one. We have lost a daughter and we are feeling the effects. This is so hard.
Jacob is still flourishing and we are so proud of him. He is such a little boy now! He is talking up a blue streak and saying some amazing things. Last night, he told me I have a big heiny. He also occasionally switches to calling me "grown up girl" instead of mommy, as in, "I am so glad you are home, grown up girl". He calls our bed a truck, and recently randomly told a stranger that his mommy and daddy sleep in a truck. His favorite song is one of my favorites called Whole Wide World by Restless Eric and when it comes on he puts his hands in his pockets and dances around the living room. He loves to dance and sing and makes up little songs all of the time. He is a troublemaker too... When my mouth guard that I use to help my TMJ went missing, we asked if he knew where it was. He was quick to say, "Um, yes, I just flushed that down the toilet.". Little bugger!
