My baby girl turned four in November. What four? I can't believe it. Not only is she four, but she is a pick her own clothes out and dress herself, preschool going, makeup loving (especially lipstick), to smart for her own good, most amazing four year old. I say it every year, but she is growing up to fast. We got to celebrate her birthday three times. Once at home with just us, one at preschool and once with the whole family. I asked her what she to do for her birthday and she told me she wanted tons of balloons and a rainbow dash party. So that is what she got. She woke up to tons of balloons all over the house.
I asked Alice what she wanted for breakfast and she said waffles. I thought I would surprise her and give her waffles covered in whipped cream and strawberries. From the look on her face she was very happy. This kid love love loves whipped cream and strawberries.
When I told her she could take cupcakes to school she was so excited. She wanted rainbow cupcakes. She was so proud carrying in her cupcakes. We missed a week and a half of preshool going to Florida so Alice was excited to see her friends. I turned around and started to walk away after saying goodbye to Alice when I heard, "yeah it's Alice. Followed by squeals and more hi Alices" I was so happy. She has made some good friends at preschool and when I see her on the playground there is always three or four little girls following her around.

After preschool we came home, she asked for a peanut butter and jelly for her birthday lunch, we watched a movie and then we were off to dance class where the first thing she told her teacher was that it was her birthday. After dance I took her to the schools book fair so she could pick out some new books for her birthday. She picked out a Disney princesses and their puppies book, a Disney princess cook book, a barbie and the fairy princess book that came with it's own butterfly necklace (that was a big deal) and a doc mcstuffins book for her cousin look. We arrived back home to a birthday surprise from her Grandma Rachel. She was so excited to see those presents on the table especially her giant Twilight Sparkle stuffed animal and the donut. This girl loves donuts. We decided to wait for Dad to get home before we opened Alice's present, which was torture, but I'm glad we waited. It was so much fun watching her open it with Andy, pulling art supply after art supply out of the box. Alice loves to do art projects. Every day she asks what we are going to make. I you asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up she would tell you a art project girl so we got her a art easel that has a wipe off board on one side and chalk board on the other, art paper, finger paints, markers, chalk, paints, crayons and dry erase markers she she could create all she wanted. After Andy showed how the easel worked she came to me and said, "mom, I can draw and then when I am sick of it I do it again." Smart girl.

Just a cute shot of Cora on Alice's Birthday.
For her birthday dinner Alice wanted eggs and biscuits. One of her favorites. After dinner i was headed into the kitchen to get her birthday cupcake when she ran in and grabbed her donut. She said she wanted the donut instead. She we slapped a candle in it and started to sing.
Alice's birthday was on a Tuesday so we saved her family birthday party for the weekend. Alice wanted a rainbow dash party, so that is what we got. We added more balloons, you can't have enough balloons, hung a banner and got ready for everyone to arrive. We had all of Alice's favorite things to eat. We had Doritos (which she calls fire chips due to the flames on the front of the bag), fruit, kool-aid (thanks to her aunt Kimmie) lemonade, a rainbow dash cake, and her favorite pizza, which just happens to be the biggest pizza I have ever seen. Check that thing out. It's as big as a card table. Alice and her dad used to get it every Wednesday when i was in the young women's presidency.
I love Kimmie and Alice's face when she sees the pizza slice for the first time. Everyone was surprised how big the pizza was. It was a show stopper.
Great Grandma Bowman and Cora where so funny to watch. Cora loves to eat and Great Grandma Bowman loved feeding her. Especially all the cake and frosting that was snuck to her while they thought no one was looking. I love that my girls get know their Great Grandma. It's such a blessing.
After cake it was time to open the presents.
Even Cora had fun getting into the action and Alice was sweet to let her help. Alice got the ponies and barbies from the movie Barbie and the Pony Tale (her favorite movie at the time) from Andy's parents, twister from Kimmie and Michael, a little mermaid that sings and her palace pets from Andy, Cora and I, the rainbow dash equestria girl barbie from my parents, a furreal monkey from Eric (which was the hit of the party. That thing is cool) and a doc mcstuffins magnetic scribbler from Great Grandma Bowman (which is one of Cora favorite toys). Everyone was so kind and Alice was one happy girl.
Our guest list was Me, Andy,
Eric,
My dad (aka Jon, Poppy, Pop and once Alice even called him Sweetie Pop Daddy, that one cracked me up),
Cora, Ralph (Eric's dog who Alice will tell you is her best friend and who is the sweetest dog in the whole world)
Rachel and Mike (aka Grand Daddy and Grand Mommy),
and Great Grandma Bowman (or as Alice says, "grandma bonenan")
Aunt Dee Dee and Tommy going to come too, but Dee Dee ended up getting sick that morning. After gifts there was a couple rounds of twister where Alice got to run into people and push them over. That cracked her up.
Every year when the whole family gathers to celebrate Alice's birthday and you can see the love they have for her it just makes my heart full. Alice is so lucky to have so many people that love her. Alice's is an amazing girl. She is loving, funny, smart, beautiful, full of life, an amazing big sister, creative, a leader, strong, independent, observant, and just too much fun to be around. I thank my Heavenly Father every day from sending such an amazing spirit into our home so we can have the opportunity to watch her learn and grow into the amazing little girl that she is. Alice we love you.
