Project 366 Day 60: February 29, 2012
I'm going to do a series of these and see what happens. (They would probably look good in a kitchen.)

Today is my nephew Jack's first birthday! I didn't get to see him today, which is why I don't have a picture of him today. But he makes so many appearances on here (and his party is on Saturday), so it's ok.
I was cleaning out some old jewelry when I found some of my more kitchy stuff from high school. The ring is a Ricky Martin mood ring that I probably got my senior year of high school or even freshman year of college. I know the positioning of it is unfortunate, as only the "Icky" part shows...:)
The necklace is a little bottle with my name on a grain of rice. I know I got this my freshman year of high school - they were all the rage.

For many years, the Harry Jack Gray building at the University of Hartford housed a very cool political memorabilia museum. It is no longer there - the Architecture Department is now housed there. But this piece has hung in the museum offices for as long as I can remember. I am fascinated with it because I have no idea what it means. Is anyone familiar with it?
This photo is terrible because I didn't want to be caught snapping photos inside a department office.....

OK, this is freaky.
This is one of the cell phones I had in Oxford. I bought it because it was flat and pink, but learned quickly that it had a terrible battery life and terrible signal. (I used it for about a year or two.) I bought a new one, but I held onto it because I can't seem to get rid of anything.
Today, at about 4:30 in the morning (and it wasn't even 4:30, it was some weird time like 4:27), I heard a weird alarm-like beeping in my room. I got up and had to search for it, because I did not recognize the sound. (I thought it might have been my iPad.) I ended up opening the desk drawer, and found the alarm going off on this phone for an alarm that I set for August 12, 2011. This is especially freaky because I HAVEN'T TURNED ON THIS PHONE IN MONTHS.
I'm going to approach this phone with caution from now on.....

I'm being a little lenient on the term "photo" today, and expanding it to include images I have created. (This was part of a PDF file that I turned into an image.) Anyway, it is the most representative of the coolest thing I did today.
The graphic design seniors at the Hartford Art School designed a business card for me today, and has a cool logo with my initials on it. But I'm starting to think that the back part looks suspiciously like the ProfHacker logo...
I'm only posting the back of it here, because the front has my phone number on it and I don't publish that stuff on the Internet. :)

I have always been intrigued by this sculpture behind the art school. From a distance, it looks like some lightning hit a tree in a way that was too good to be true. I think it was part of a performance piece, because I remember people lighting fire in the middle of it and having the fire travel through the inside.
I had to get out today to enjoy the beautiful weather, so I snapped this during a short walk around the Harry Jack Gray complex.

It is always hilarious to see the dog waiting at the window when anyone gets home. Here she is, waiting for me to come in after my trip to Target.

I had a great night out with my mom tonight. We went to TGI Friday's and had some appetizers and cocktails, then went to see "The Descendants," which was great.
In honor of Mardi Gras, I had to try the SoCo Hurricane at Friday's. It was pretty good. :)

I splurged a bit at the Enfield Mall yesterday and took home 3 pairs of shoes. And the nice thing is that they are all wide width, so they actually fit!

Stopped by my friend's bakery today but was 20 minutes too late, so I took some pics of the sculptures around the train station instead.

On Fridays, after we teach our weekly seminar, I think we all get a little hyper in the office. That's how I end up taking pictures like this one (yes, this is my keyboard, my duck and my alien).

It is extremely difficult to get a picture of Jack standing on his own. But it's getting a little easier now that he's better at it. He's actually dancing here to "Do You Love Me" by the Contours. :)
Here's a video of his dancing.

I stayed home and worked on my thesis today, so nothing really photo-worthy happened. But I didn't want to go without posting anything, so here are some Valentine's Day flowers that my dad bought for my mom.

Happy Valentine's Day!
I had spotted a bowl of candy hearts outside of the office of the library director, and tried to get a pic for my photo of the day. It didn't come out so hot, so I bought some more hearts on the way home and tried again!

Another nice thing about working at a place that is well known for its art school is that every once in a while, the different departments (both students and faculty) will sell their stuff. I bought some pottery in December, and today I bought some prints. I spent a lot, but I like doing it because it benefits student projects.
This was my favorite of the three prints I bought. Another print was a picture of a village in blue and black, and I can't say anything about the third one because it is a birthday gift for a friend :)

I want to start directing traffic back to my blog, so I think I will do it by blogging my Project 366 photos here. I won't do 43 days of posts to catch up, but I will do some weekly recap posts now. Here's what I took in week 1:

January 3: Back to Work
January 4: Gloves
January 5: Clouds over Village Lawn
January 6: Happy Birthday Maggie! (This was my most visited photo of Project 366 so far.)
