I surprised the kids with my mom coming. What a treat. She was able to go to Kamren's last soccer game and go on a field trip with Andrew's preschool. We took a hayride, ate donuts and picked apples. It rained almost the whole time she was here. Bummer.

This was the beginning of our trip to Charleston, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia. My mom didn't know that I was going to surprise her with her sister, Jacque.
I surprised my sister too. It was a treat for all of us to have Jacque with us. Our first treat was eating at a yummy seafood restaurant. I love shrimp and grits, biscuits, and hush puppies.
Jacque and I did it. We kept it a secret for months!
We visited two plantations in Charleston. The weather couldn't have been better on our whole trip. This plantation was a rice plantation. We also learned about the slaves and what they did on this site.
Middleton was the other plantation. This was my favorite. I loved every minute of it. So peaceful. We were also able to see some alligators and tour the beautiful homes.
We took a boat over to Fort Sumter and learned about the battles from the Civil war.
It was so fun to talk and catch up with everyone.
We had fun at all the different hotels that we stayed at. We loved the yummy breakfasts that was served.

We made sure we had lots of yummy treats. This was Leopolds ice cream that was there since 1914.
We had to take Amy to the airport early so we visited the USS Yorktown. There was the destroyer and submarine we were also able to see. Kamren would've loved to be here.
We had great laughs touring Savannah in an old hearse. Our heads even bobbled throughout the tour. I wasn't sure we were going to even make it:) Savannah is known for one of the scariest towns in the United States.
Amy took care of us in selecting yummy restaurants. The service was great and we loved their accents.
We toured another house at night. Spooky. They said this was one of the spookiest homes in Savannah.
Grandma was so kind to bring home donuts upon our arrival.
We didn't eat at Paula Deen's restaurant because there weren't great reviews but we went to her store. So cute!!
I loved walking along the water and strolling the city. Savannah is a definite place to visit. WE saw alot in six days.
This was so beautiful at night. We walked along Rainbow Row and looked at the gorgeous mansions.
Here we are at Myrtle Beach. It' s a long beautiful beach. It's a huge tourist town so we didn't do much. But we enjoyed the peaceful walk.
We had fun on a horse carriage ride in Charleston. I'm amazed at all the knowledge the tour guides have of the city.
