Hakon has a love of designing and drawing houses. Most often he tries to find the most efficient design while making room for everything that our family would need. Sometimes he draws for specific lots he thinks we might like or he tweaks designs he finds online for minimalist housing. Maybe someday we will actually build our own home. For now, we imagine and come up with ideas. We seriously looked into building over the winter and got cost estimates from some builders on a house plan we came up with. The cost came back way higher than we are comfortable with, so for now we will stay put.

Me and the girls all ready for church. I'm so grateful I can go to church every Sunday to partake of the Sacrament. I'm grateful I can teach my children that this is the right thing to do and we prioritize it above any other activity. I am grateful for the opportunity to live close to our church house and that there are many leaders in the primary who care for my children and teach them about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Each Sunday I leave for ward choir practice at 11, then we all join together and go to church about 12:30. When I was at choir this Sunday, Hakon found Brooklyn along in the bathroom with my makeup. She had made a huge mess. Poor thing was so sad when she was caught. It sure gave a laugh to Hakon and myself when he showed me!
Claire is growing up so much and wants to help a lot. She especially likes the vacuum cleaner.
Hakon draws pictures for the kids quite often. Mostly, he does this during sacrament meeting. They watch as a picture appears before their eyes and as each detail is added to the drawing. It keeps them quite content during the speakers and takes minimal preparation and items to bring to church. They draw on their own as well, but they especially love it when Dad will draw something for them in particular. Here is the quad Rylan requested at church this time.
Brooklyn loves to dress up. She looked so silly in this outfit!
Holly Merkley and I trade watching each other's kids so we can attend the temple to do initiatory. Here Covey Merkley is having a snack outside with Rylan, Brooklyn, and Claire.
We had an exceptionally warm February day! The girls loved playing in the backyard on bikes and the trampoline. We love it when we get a break from the winter weather.
Our family took an outing to the grounds at the Remington Center. One highlight was playing tag and Hakon jumping up on the garbage can. He can sure jump high and impress me and the kids.
Lydia and Emmelyn stayed overnight with us and we sure enjoyed having them here. Eric took Melissa to Las Vegas for a little trip while they could get away before having another baby. It was good to get to know those girls better. Lydia did a flip on the trampoline for the first time while she was here, so that was exciting!
Claire loves swinging this year. She is just so cute in her marshmallow coat that is a hand-me-down from Lauren. Brooklyn has a pink one too and they just look so cute in them.
We met up with Spencer at Town Square when he was roller blading home from school. Brooklyn really wanted to walk home with him so Spencer agreed to. I drove along behind to make sure they made it safely. It was sweet to see Spencer taking such good care of her and holding her hand. He had to go a lot slower than he normally would, but he didn't mind.
One day I decided I just had to get out and exercise no matter what and since the kids weren't cooperating for me to do it at home, I pushed all 3 of them in the stroller to get in a good workout. It was hard! I felt great afterward though.
We threw a belated Happy 40th Birthday party for Christal. It turned out to be super fun. We surprised her and Mongolie Grill and enjoyed visiting and eating there. Then we went to Melissa's house and played "Celesial Companions" which turned into lots of laughs! Then we enjoyed some birthday dessert with gluten free brownies and ice cream before heading back to Cardston. I always really enjoy date nights with my siblings and spouses.
