Rylan Turns 10

Rylan is a decade old! He has been a joy to have in our family. I look forward to seeing what he does with the next decade of his life. Rylan likes to get out and do things-skiing, sledding, outdoor basketball, swimming, rollerblading, biking, skating, and hiking. When at home he likes to read, play the piano, help with cooking or baking, and take photos then edit them on my phone. He prioritizes peace and good feelings and loves a good joke. He doesn’t seek attention and is dependable in doing his duty. Lately he has been mistaken for Spencer often. They are about the same height and both have glasses. But other than that I think they look quite different from each other. He is always good natured about it. I love Rylan very much. I hope he realizes how much he adds to our family.

We gave Rylan a cool lego creator set and a new t-shirt this year. For his birthday party we made an exception to the current rules against social gatherings and invited Joseph Bevans and Marcus Michel over for the afternoon. We played Minutes to Win It games and Hakon took the boys and Brooklyn sledding in the freezing cold at Lions Park before indulging in the chicken fettuccine casserole Rylan requested and the KitKat chocolate cake. It was a great day celebrating our special boy!
