Another Trip to the ER

We got the dreaded phone call that no parent wants to get Thursday afternoon. Briggs' MDO called my phone first which I did not answer because I had run into the house to do some touch up painting before I had to pick them up from school. They called Frankie next and he luckily answered. They let him know that Briggs had fallen off of some chairs he was crawling on and they pretty confident that he had broken his arm. Yes, once again Briggs was hurt and we were going to have to rush him to the emergency room for X-rays. Frankie called me at home and I was there within 10 minutes. Briggs was laying down with Brooks by his side comforting him! We waited for Frankie to get there so we could ride together. It was obviously broken but was not really sure what all was going to have to happen to fix it. We went to the North East Cook Urgent Care where we were pretty much immediately that they were going to send us downtown to have it set under "conscious sedation". They started an IV, gave him some pain medicine and took X-Rays. Shortly after we were headed to downtown where the orthopedic surgeon was waiting for us. We were taken to the outpatient surgery and Briggs was taken to surgery shortly after we arrived. Thankfully, Frank and Barb meet us there to help with Brooks, who was such a trooper during all this, as he has been every time. The setting of his bones went well it was the waking up after anesthesia that was hard. He does not do well with this and it takes him a long time to recover. We finally left the hospital about 9 PM that night. We had to stop and get pain medicine for Briggs and made it home a little after 10 PM. I wanted to feed Briggs something before I gave him pain medicine so he was finally in bed at midnight.

Don't know if you can telly but directly under the "u" on his shirt is where the breaks are. Kind of gross if you ask!!

Again this is pretty nasty picture but we have to document it.

On our way home... FINALLY!!

Busy Weekend

We had a very busy weekend. Frankie and I decided that we were going to put our house on the market and see what happens. With this comes massive cleaning and getting the house ready for pictures and showings. We had to "de-clutter" the entire house including all pictures and "the fun stuff" The realtor wanted nothing on counters, no rugs on the floors and no extras pretty much anywhere. We also had to re-stain the cedar columns in the front, plant flowers and mow. All of this happened Sunday because Saturday we had a busy day. We both ran our longest runs getting ready for our race. I am running a half marathon (13.1) and Frankie is doing the full marathon (26.2 miles) April 15. We also had a soccer game at 11 am and a TBall game at 2 pm. Frankie's parents came up to watch both games and take us to lunch to celebrate Frankie and Barb's birthday. We had a great day but by that evening we were all exhausted and a little sunburned. The only pictures I have are from TBall and Barb took them all. My camera has been out of commission I forgot my phone.

Briggs had to participate in Wacky Day by spraying his hair orange too!

More Camping Pics

A few more pictures from the boys' camping trip. I could not leave these out...

Boys Camping Trip

**WARNING**
Picture overload
The boys, yes ALL 3 boys went camping this past weekend without me!! They meet Jason and Reed and David and Grace in Grapeland Texas. Jessica's parents own some land with an older farm house down there and this was the perfect place for the boys to spend their first camping trip. Brooks was beyond excited and Briggs was just excited because he could see Brooks' excitement. They left Friday morning and headed that way. It took a little longer than expected due to Briggs' frequent bathroom breaks. He is newly potty trained so we cannot push him when he says he has to pee. But they made it, had a TERRIFIC time, came back exhausted but all in one piece!!! I am going to let the pictures tell the stories... With the exception of a few.

Brooks made flags for everyone in their favorite color with their initial on them so they could be by their tent. He loves art and making things!

All 3 boys peeing
I could not resist posting this picture. I am sure Reed will hate me one day for this.

Battle wounds within minutes of being there.
No surprise here!!

My children have never fallen asleep on the couch. Maybe once or twice when they have been sick. This is how exhausted he was from an amazing camping, from what I understand!! Thanks to the daddys for taking the boys and making memories that will never be forgotten!!
