Our little angel is finally here!
We have been waiting to add a new little one to our family for a while now. In November of 2009 we found out I was pregnant and shortly after that, I had a miscarriage. Then in February 2010 I had an ectopic pregnacy. This was a really hard time for me & I have a special place in my heart for all the wonderful women who deal with infertility.
This is Redd when we first started our baby journey.
In July 2010 we found out we were expecting again & because of the previous complications, we were able to hear Mauri's heartbeat a few weeks later. After eight and a half months, a few scares and lots of worrying, our little princess has joined our family!
Mauri came 2 and a half weeks early. (just like her big brother) I had been having contractions for a few weeks and didn't really know what to expect, having never really felt them with Redd. I had an appointment on Thursday & was at a 3. After my appointment, my contractions got stronger and more regular and on Friday morning we headed up to the hospital. When we got there, I was still a 3 and my doctor wanted me to walk the halls to help my labor progress. When they checked me again, I was barely a 4 but in a lot more pain. My sweet nurse told the doctor that if she sent me home, I'd be back that night, so they kept me. The doctor came a short time later and broke my water. As soon as he was done, I got my epidural and it was all down hill from there. I progressed quickly after that & after a few laugh filled pushes.. our little girl was here.

Redd, Granny Deb, Grandma Bonnie, Grandpa Jon, and Aunt Joni were all waiting outside when Mauri was born. Aunts Lisa, Jamie and Tami were all there shortly after. Redd was so excited to see Mauri, he had been to all my appointments and had helped the doctor find her heartbeat. When he first saw her he told me she was "beautful." But when he held her it was only for a quick second before he was done! (I don't blame him, the eye goop isn't the most attractive thing)

The next day we had lots of vistors including our sweet Redd

(Redd stayed with Grandmas and aunt Tami while we were in the hospital and none of them could convice him to wear a shirt other than his jersey)

Redd "sleeping" by Mauri

The morning of the day we were supposed to go home from the hospital, Mauri's left eye was swollen and looking really red. When Mauri's doctor came to discharge her, he was concerned about her eye and wanted to put her in the NICU. They started her on some antibiotics and she spent the next two days being treated for an eye infection.

After she pulled the IV out of her hand, they had to put it in her head.

The one in her head bubbled, so they moved the IV back to her hand.

I came one day when they were giving her a sponge bath.. poor thing!

On March 1st we brought Mauri home!

We are so blessed to have 2 wonderful children!
Thanks to all our friends and family who have helped us out this last month!
