Court-side with the Utes

We went to the Utah Basketball game with Judd’s family.  As we were walking in, a guy asked if our kids wanted to go down on the court before the game & give the players high-five.  Of course!
Mauri was out on the court cheering and one of the camera men stood there and filmed her for a minute, but as soon as she noticed, she got camera shy.
We recorded the game at home & we all were on TV for a few seconds of fame!
Redd was pumped to even get a personal visit from Swoop!
Mauri was fine to give him five, but when he went for the hug, she refused!
What a fun night! Go UTES!

Feast!

Redd’s preschool had their annual Thanksgiving Feast! I was lucky enough to be able to volunteer to do some games.  But, unfortunately I wasn't able to take many pictures.

Each kid gets to bring their favorite food to the feast.  This year Redd picked pizza.
I'm thankful Redd has some good friends in his class & that he loves going to school!

I Want to Suck Up Your Blood

Halloween was fun this year at the Peterson House.
Redd begged to carve pumpkins all month, so he was super excited when the night finally came.
He drew out his face on paper & Judd helped him transfer it to the pumpkin to be cut out.
Mauri's official job was to get the "guts" out of the pumpkins & she loved it.  She didn't want me to carve hers, she kept saying "my pu-kin"

Redd's pumpkin even has a little hair!
Redd had a fun preschool party.
He really wanted to be a vampire this year & the night I went to get his costume, he changed his mind.  Then a few days later, he changed it back again! He was totally in character every time he got to dress up.  You can see in these pictures he is pulling his most terrifying face.  He would go around telling everyone "I want to suck up your blood!"
Jon and Bonnie had a fun family party the week of Halloween.
Vampire Redd needed a little Mauri Bat at his side!
Judd's brother Jake even got into the fun & dressed up as the "Ass on Ass!" He made his awesome costume out of chicken wire and paper mache!
Redd carved a pumpkin & (thanks to his Parker cousins) wanted 3 unspeakable letters put on it.  So Aunt Joni made sure they were put in the right order!
Jon let Mauri use her own knife to carve! She was in heaven, he was in for a long night!
All the cousins sitting by their pumpkins
Gage, Chase, Mauri, Redd, & Bailee
Mauri & Grandpa's pumpkin-- it had cute little ears!
Redd with his soda pop mustache & pumpkin
The Costley Clan had their annual Halloween gathering.
All the Vampires & their little Bat!
(Jadon, Mauri, Redd, & Cooper)
 The triplets!
Crosby, Quincey & Mauri
 All the hoodlums!
 Ready for "Trick Treat"
Once again in character-- he even scared a little neighbor who came trick or treating to our house!
 How creepy is that picture?
They couldn't wait to dig in!

Real Salt Lake

Redd's soccer league was sponsored by Real Salt Lake so each player got a ticket to a Real game.  Judd and I also got some tickets and decided to take Redd to the game.  Unfortunately for us, that night there was a rain storm.  We bundled up & went anyway.  Redd had a blast! He didn't even complain once about being cold.  We were soaked, but we had great seats & so much fun cheering!

Half Marathon

Judd ran his 2nd Half Marathon this year & Redd wanted to make a sign to cheer him on.  A few days before the race he decided exactly what he wanted it to say..
"Dear Dad,
Happy Marathon!
Make sure you keep up your energy for running!"
On our way to meet Judd at the finish line, we passed by some of the runners.  One of them happened to be Judd! I rolled down my window and we all yelled for him! As soon as we passed him, Redd asked "Did you hold up the sign?"  He could hardly wait for his dad to see it!

Great Job Judd! We are so proud of you!

Mauri's Birthday

I was in denial for months that my sweet baby girl was actually turning one.
About a week before her birthday I finally got myself together & put a few things together for her special day.
Her invitation.
We had her party on her actual birthday.  Too bad we don't have marvelous weather in Utah during February.. so we crammed the whole family into our sweet little house!

I made a few decorations to go around the house, but didn't have a chance to get pictures of anything before the party started.. oops! At least I got a shot of the cupcakes.

Mauri wasn't really into opening her own presents, so we let her cousins take turns ripping them open & giving them to her.

The present opening got a little crazy & I think she was relieved when it was finally over!
Funny story behind this present.. Redd kept telling me he wanted to get Mauri a Lalaloopsy for her birthday.  About a week before, I let him get on the website to pick out the one he wanted to give her. As we scroll through the options, he keeps saying "No, that's not it."  Finally we get to the one he wants & shocker,  it's the only BOY Lalaloopsy.  We talked him into getting her a girl one & after the party Judd and I surprised him with the boy.
Jax-- President of the Mauri Fan Club!
I have a feeling this won't be the last time Big Brother "helps" push Mauri down a slide.
It took Mauri a little while to want to play with her toys, she was too busy wanting to play with the big kids.  She had been walking a little before her birthday.  But on her birthday, it was like a little switch went off & she started walking non-stop!
Time to get naked & eat some cake!

She didn't really want to dig into her cake, but with the help of her cousins, she managed to get a few big handfuls.

Instead of trying to track her through the cramped house, we just went ahead and bathed her in the kitchen sink.

Before all the cousins left, they got a treat bag with this cute little picture on it!

Our little princess!
We love this little one to pieces & can't get enough of her beautiful blue eyes!
So glad our families could help us celebrate her birthday!
