You know you're studying for the bar exam when . . .
(1) You recite the elements of crimes in your head in order to fall asleep at night. No. Joke.
(2) You had a dream that you insisted on sitting out of a rec league soccer game because you didn't want to chance hurting yourself a week before the bar exam.
(3) You consume obscene amounts of caffeine.
(4) You thought it would be a nice "treat" to buy the family size pack of Twizzlers . . . because you need study food!
(5) You are completely enraged that someone decided to do yard work outside your window at 10 a.m. on a Tuesday morning. Enraged. Don't they know you're STUDYING FOR THE BAR EXAM!!!! The nerve of some people.
I hope you're all having a great summer! ONLY 9 MORE UNTIL FREEDOM!
*Here is an entertaining blog post that may help you understand the stress people are under.

Things I Love
I thought I would take a break from studying and share a couple things I'm really loving this week:
(1) The Outlander book series by Diana Gabaldon. It is AMAZING. It is a seven book series and I have read the first three in less than two months. While in law school. While studying for final exams. While studying for the bar exam. That is how amazing this book series is. And the books are each a thousand plus pages. Any who. I absolutely cannot start another book until after the bar exam. My ability to pass depends on it. So I thought I would share this wonderful series with you. The plot is really hard to describe. Here is what wikipedia has to say about it. It is sort of a romance/historical/science fiction book. Kind of a Twilight on steroids.
(2) I made the most delicious salad this week. It was surprisingly yummy and refreshing. Perfect for a hot summer day.
1 bag of Spinach
3 cups of cubed watermelon
1/2 pint of blue berries
1/2 cup of feta cheese
a few slices of red onion
Any brand of citrus vinaigrette salad dressing (I used Newman's Own Lime Vinaigrette)
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and top with the salad dressing. Super easy and really tasty.
*In order to convert this into an actual meal I marinated chicken in the salad dressing and then grilled it and added it to the salad. Enjoy!

my summer :(

For the next couple months I'll be studying for the Minnesota bar exam. I'm looking forward to completing this journey BUT I can't say I'm very excited for all the studying I have to do this summer. I'll definitely be taking study breaks to check out everyone else's blogs. Unfortunatley, mine won't be very interesting for a while. I hope everyone's summer plans are more exciting than mine!

the wedding
I was so blessed to be Sarah's Maid of Honor. Her wedding took place this past weekend on May 1st. She looked absolutely gorgeous. The wedding was held in Sandbridge, VA (the same place as the shower) in a rented beach house. The ceremony took place on the back deck of the beach house right over the water. It was amazing. I had such a wonderful time and am so excited for the new couple. I know Sarah and Justin will have a wonderful life together. Here are some pics from the wedding:
The rehearsal dinner was AMAZING. We went to one of the best seafood places in Virginia Beach. I had the best grilled mahi ever! Sarah's parents got a "party-bus" for all of use to ride in from the beach house to the restaurant in. It was so fun! Everyone had a great time.
Here are some pictures of Sarah and all of us girls getting ready. The lady who did my hair only charged $25 for an up-do and didn't charge the Bride at all! What a deal!
Here are various shots of the Bride's maids. Sarah chose the color "serene" as her wedding color. It was this beautiful dusty blue color. Perfect for a beach wedding. She let all of us girls pick out our own dress - it just had to be the same color and had to be knee length. She wanted me to differentiate myself somehow since I was the Maid of Honor, so I chose an ivory sash to go with her dress. I think the dresses all turned out great. Although, I hope to God I NEVER have to deal with David's Bridal again. They were just awful.
Here are as many shots of the groom's men as I could get! Ha. They weren't so into picture taking. I had a great Best Man by my side though - Brandon - he was hilarious!
The Wedding! The ceremony was so sweet. They were married on the dock of the beach house right over the water. They said the sweetest vows to each other. Sarah looked absolutely amazing! I definitely shed a tear or two :)
Then the bride put on her pretty blue "honey moon" dress and we partied and danced the rest of the night away!
