7 Random things about me.

Andrea tagged me a while back, but I have not gotten around to doing this yet, partly because I could not think of things that I thought anyone would give a flip about. I decided I would just come up with a few things and if you were uninterested you would not read...who cares what people think right?!?

1. I refuse to have unattractive tissue boxes. If they don't have ones I like in the store I just buy a big box and refill my cute boxes I already have at home. I love the new oval boxes!!!

2. I do not color code my closet, I thought that this was normal but after reading everybody elses blog I decided I must be the odd one. I do however like my pantry to be in order. Everything has a basket or place to go in and it really bothers me when things are not put where they are supposed to go.

3. I almost always have something that needs to be returned to a store. In fact I have a basket in my car just for such items.

4. My senior year in college I had to have jaw surgery. They broke my jaw and moved it over. I had to wear braces and they were used to rubber band my mouth shut. I was pretty much on a liquid diet and lost about 10-15 pounds. People would say what a great diet...are you kidding? Just don't eat so much, no need for a broken jaw!

5. Michael and I started dating when I was 15 and he was 16. Over the next six years I broke up with him about three times because I was afraid of what would happen if we stayed together. Also I thought something was just wrong with him and that no one else would want to date me. I found out that I was "dateable" and that the consequence of us staying together was not that bad:) Besides everyone else I would go out with just never measured up.

6. I have always wanted to be a teacher. I did not like to play dolls or anything like that when I was little...only school. I would make a class list and give spelling test, the whole bit. When Melanie was 5 I gave her a spelling test, including the word island, she misspelled every word. I gave her a zero (because that is the grade she earned) she was upset and went and told mom, she made me only take off one point for each one she missed, that left her with a 90 when she missed every question. This is still a running joke today.

7. I was in band in middle school, high school and college. I played French horn for 14 years and Michael played trumpet (in fact that is how we met). I love the competition and preparing for such. I miss it and wish I had the time and reason to play. Mason seems to really enjoy music and he is a little inclined that way, I am not saying he is a prodigy or anything of that sort but it really make Michael and I a little giddy that he is so interested in it...okay so we are really just "band nerds" at heart:)

Okay I did it. If you are still reading I am sorry for the bore.

Now I’m supposed to tag 7 other people. Here are the rules…
–Link to the person who tagged you.

–Post the rules in your blog entry.

–Share 7 random, or weird, facts about yourself.

–Tag 7 random people at the end of the post, linking to them.

–Leave a comment on their blog so that they know they’ve been tagged.

I don't know who has and has not been tagged yet, but I will tag Melanie B., Amber, Lisa, Joni and Donna Jo...okay I know it is not seven, but it is good enough.

Bluebonnets

I had hoped to get some really neat pictures in the bluebonnets this year, but by the time we got out there they were already starting to look a little pathetic. We did get a few pictures, the flowers were just not as pretty as I am sure they were before the hail storm. Maybe next year, when Brayden can sit up, we will have better luck.

We walked to a field a few houses down from my Aunt's house. Mason wanted to pull the wagon with Brayden and would not let anybody else.

Not a picture with the bluebonnets but I thought it was a sweet expression.

My wonderful sister put this series together. We also took some belly pictures of her, they are on her blog if you want to check them out.

Our best attempt at a family photo.

And finally, a pretty butterfly.

Our Beautiful Spring Day

After several attempts we finally came upon a beautiful day to take spring pictures of our little chickies. While we did not make it over for Dallas blooms, we decided that Grapevine flowers would do just fine. Here are a few of my favorite pics and most not of my children, as one is uncooperative with the camera and the other, well he is just hard to pose outdoors.

My not so little, little brother

While just an amature, taking pictures is one of my favorite things to do. Most of the time that means I am trying to get a picture of a two year old who really does not want his picture taken, or of a two month old who doesn't do anything but lay there. Saturday, I got to take my little brother out and we took some of his Senior pictures. It was fun to play around with him and he was a great sport. I think we ended up with several good shots, and I am excited to see them in print. I also have to give a shout out to Melanie and her fantastic eye for photo editing! It is hard to believe that my little brother is all grown and he is going to be graduating high school in a couple months. Congratulations Nathan!

Is his name Mason?

The other day I took the boys for a walk and decided they needed hats since it was a little sunny out. Mason put on his baseball cap and he got Woody's cowboy hat for him to wear (you would not want the sun to get in Woody's eyes). I then reached for a cute little wide brimmed hat for Brayden to wear that I had bought when Mason was younger. Of course when I bought the hat for Mason I had his name embroidered on it, but I threw it on Brayden's head and off we went. I thought I guess that is the life of a second child, not only does he get the hand me downs, but he has to wear them with his brothers name on them.

My precious baby Brayden is now two months old. He has passed that newborn stage and has entered into one of my favorite baby phases. He is starting to recognize those around him and will stop crying just when he sees me or hears my voice. He has a sweet little smile and is making cute little baby coo's. Although the first few weeks of his life were kind of rough, he is getting easier and is bringing so much joy to our house. So happy two month birthday to my little groundhog baby!
