Wow what a crazy busy week.... Glad it is over and glad summer is in session. I love having the boys home, I love spending time with them, I love the sweet spirit they bring into our home, I love they get along so well, I love love love being their mom.

This last week was Sid's 6th birthday.. Where does the time go??? It seems like I just had the little monkey.. Now he is 6 and getting so big. How we love him, how he makes us all laugh. How he has such an innocence about him that is so wonderful to be around. I love that he is the way he is..

On Sid's birthday he woke up and got to open 1 present.. He didn't think that was very fun.. He opened it up and said "clothes? okay mom thanks for the shirt and shorts but do I get any toys?" I had to laugh and say "I don't know" So we packed up a lunch and snacks and lots of water and headed out the door for the entire day. On this day was also track day for Robbie so we spent the day at the track.. I was the only one that got sun burnt though.. I remembered sunscreen on the boys.. What a good mom.. NOT!!

Robbie did well at the track meet.. He took 4th in the 200m and 1st in the 50m. It was a very long day from 9-230pm hanging at the track. We came home and Jeannette came over and shared the evening with us. She helped me frost the cake and cook dinner. Thank you so very much Jeannette.. Yes I made Sid's cake. He wanted an icecream cake so I made an icecream cake.. and it turned out not to shabby..

The 5 kids had a blast playing and playing and playing... I am so glad that they all get along so well. Oh and Sid got more than just clothes......

On Friday was the awards for the school.. Sid and I went to that and was so happy when Robbie received the Academic Award.. Way to go Robbie.. He is very smart.. Way not from me.. Must have gotten that from Kennen.

and now it is summer.................... YIPPEE!!! Only a week and a half left and our first visitors will be arriving. Love you all!!!

SPIRITUALLY FED WEDNESDAY

Families can be together forever.

Husbands and wives should be thoughtful and kind to each other. They should never do or say anything to hurt each others feelings. They should also try to do everything possible to make each other happy.

As parents come to know God and strive to be like Him, they will teach children to love one another. In the Book of Mormon, King Benjamin explained:
"Ye will not suffer your children...[to] fight and quarrel one with another...."
"But ye will teach them to walk in the ways of truth and soberness; ye will teach them to love one another, and to serve one another" (Mosiah 4:14-15)

As family members we can help each other feel confident by giving encouragement and sincere praise. Each child should feel important. Parents need to show they are interested in what their children do and express love and concern for their children. Children should likewise show their love for their parents. They should be obedient and try to live the kind of life that will bring honor to their parents and to their family name.

President Harold B. Lee taught, "The most important of the Lord's work you will ever do will be within the walls of your own homes"

Satan knows how important families are to our Heavenly Father's plan. He seeks to destroy them by keeping us from drawing near to the Lord. he will tempt us to do things that will draw our families apart.

The First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles declared, "Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities" (Ensign, Nov. 1995)

I am so grateful for my family.. I am grateful for a loving and wonderful husband. He truly is one of the most amazing men I have ever been around. I am thankful for 2 amazing boys that have blessed me to be a mother. I am thankful that Heavenly Father seen that I was able to be a mother (even though the doctors said I never would be) I hope and pray that the things Kennen and I do help our two sons. I am thankful that Kennen speaks to me kindly in ever situation and the boys see that. I am thankful that he holds my hand, gives me a kiss or a hug so that the boys see that respect that their father has for their mother. I love my little family so very much and am thankful for them.

pre-school graduation, field trips, and a visit from "gaga"

Wow!!! what a week it has been... CRAZY!!!

This week was filled with adventure. Robbie had scouts 2 nights, he had 2 field trips one to South Pass and one to Martins Cove and Independence Rock which my mom went on that one with him. Sid had story time and pre-school graduation. Myself had to do all of the above plus my own scouts and a doctor appointment. Kennen worked and worked and then on Thursday he said I have to go to Riverton tomorrow for the night, I have a motel room so why don't you and the boys drive up after school.. So.... picked up Robbie from school on Friday and Sid from Tiffany. Thanks Tiffany for watching him while I went to the doctors. We came home to drop of Robbies school stuff and off we went to Riverton. (I have never been there so a new adventure for me)

so the pre-school graduation was a bitter sweet moment.. Many of my friends work at the child development center. I will be so sad not seeing them everyday. Sad that my baby is growing up. Happy that I don't have to drive across town anymore.

This is the last week of school. four and a half days left... wow!! then summer vacation. I so can't wait. We have a ton of things planned. I have friends coming here. The first one to arrive will be Christina O. and her boys. They are flying in the 2nd week of june for the the week. I am so excited, we haven't seen each other since high school graduation (that's been a LONG time) The second batch arrive the 3rd week. Christina G. and MaryAnn and maybe Layla (also haven't seen Christina since highschool) I am so so so excited. Then July 4th weekend I have my Springville friends coming. YIPPEE!!!!!! What a great summer its going to be.

We had a great time with my mom here.. She was able to go on a field trip with Robbie and story time with Sid. She spoiled them... She let them each choose a place to eat at. The boys loved it.. Thanks mom for coming to visit. We love you!!

Enjoy the slide show of our week!! love you all!

IN MEMORY OF MY DAD

this picture was taken 3 weeks before my dad passed away.

Today is 10 years since my dad passed away.. Oh how I miss him. I love knowing that my boys know grandpa Sid even though Sid has never met him and Robbie was 6 months old when he passed away.

My boys do things that remind me of him (sid the most)

My dad was an amazing man. He taught me so very much and he loved me no matter what.

I miss him more than words can say but I am grateful for the knowledge that I have that I will see him soon and that the time we are apart here is only a short amount of time compared to the eternities that we will get to spend together.

Dad... The boys are getting very big. My baby will be 6 in one week. (I think he came in May instead of July to help me with the month) He is a little spit fire and is so funny. Robbie will be 11 this year and what a great young man he is turning into. You would be very proud of both of them.

We love you dad and think about you very often and your name is spoken of ALL the time in our home.

Oregon Trail Ruts, Fort Laramie and Register Cliffs and an early Spiritually Fed Wednesday.

So last week we were able to go on a field trip with Robbie. When I say we I mean all of us. (Kennen, me, Sid and of course Robbie) It was so much fun. We were able to go to 3 different places we had never been. I know this is late and tomorrow is my Spiritually Fed Wednesday.. This week it may have to be skipped cause I am going to make this also my spiritually fed Wednesday.

I will start with Fort Laramie.. The kids got to dress in period clothes and do the tour of the fort dressed like those that would have traveled through there. It was pretty neat and fun to see the kids. (This place was the field trip for the school) After the field trip was over and all was loading back on the buses to head back home a 3 hour drive.. we loaded back in the car and headed to the Oregon Trail Ruts and Register Cliff.

The Oregon Trail Ruts... a new appreciation to the pioneers. Since moving to Wyoming I have gained such a strong testimony of the pioneers. Their travel, the weather, the baron land, the terrain they crossed. It is all amazing to me. I know what the weather is like and I have a home and a car and I still don't like going out in it. The pioneers have a special place in my heart. If any of you want to come visit any of these places we would love to take you there. I hope you enjoy the pictures of Oregon Trail Ruts they don't do it justice. You must go and feel of the spirit there and look up and see what they had to endure.

Register Cliffs.... a lot like independence rock... the names are carved (registered) on the cliffs and side of the mountain... Also at Register Cliffs there is a little cemetery so I have included pictures of that. The pictures I got are of 3 different grave sites and you can see the outline of the rocks. one is very small so must have been a child.

We sure hope you all have a fun week. We so have a busy one.. my mom is here visiting, Robbie has 2 field trips (martins cove, independence rock and south pass all pioneer history) Sid has pre-school graduation. We have 3 nights of scouts. oh my!!!

SPIRITUALLY FED WEDNESDAY

We may never know in this life why we face what we do, but we can feel confident that we can grow from the experience.

Each of us will face trials and tests, it is how we react to those difficulties that will determine our success and happiness. Each of us will face adversity no matter where we are. We are taught in the scriptures that there "must needs be...an opposition in all things." We will each face times of difficulty , and the question is NOT WHEN WE WILL FACE THEM BUT HOW HOW WE FACE THEM.

The Apostle Paul taught an interesting lesson only a few years before the Saints in Rome were to face some of the most violent persecution of any Christian era. Paul reminded the Saints that "all things work together for good to them that love God." Our Heavenly Father, who loves us completely and perfectly, permits us to have experiences that will allow us to develop the traits and attributes we need to become more and more Christlike. Our trials come in many forms, but each will allow us to become more like the Savior as we learn to recognize the good that comes from each experience. As we understand this doctrine, we gain greater assurance of our Father's love. We may never know in this life why we face what we do, but we can feel confident that we can grow from the experience.

As we pass through the trials of life, let us keep an eternal perspective, let us not complain, let us become even more prayerful, let us serve others, and let us forgive one another. As we do this, "all things [will] work together for good to [us] that love God.

This is a talk by Elder James B. Martino

Happy Mother's Day!!!!!

The first picture is of my Grandma. What a wonderful example she has been. I am so grateful for her example and her hard work.

This picture is of my mom and all of the grandbabies... I am so thankful for her and her wonderful example to me. I am thankful for her love and her concern for me and my family. I am thankful for the wonderful Grandma (gaga) she is to our boys.

And to all of those other people out there that are mom's, grandma's, aunt's, cousin's, friend's. Thank you for your examples thank you for helping me along the road of motherhood.

We are so very lucky to have so many people around that help mold us into whom we are. We have been blessed beyond measure in this area with such wonderful family and friends.

To me.. Mother's Day is not about what kind of mom you are, it is about being told thank you for all that one has done. For all of their hard work in ones behalf.

Love to all of you!!!!

Safe kids!!

At the end of Safe Kids Day they had some people with the olympic torch from Salt Lake Olympics and so the boys got to hold it. Enjoy the pictures. hehehe

So this week began like all the others.... except I couldn't hear, I was completely dizzy all the time and most of those days I felt like I couldn't function. So for all of you who read this please remind me of this time when I am older and I say I am not getting a hearing aid.. remind me how bad it sucked not to hear.

Monday I had an ear appointment, which the decided that if I still couldn't hear and if I was still dizzy they would remove the tubes on Friday. Wednesday Sid had a dentist appointment to get the wire in his mouth tightened, Thursday I had one for my face where they removed the cancer it was not healing still... They found a stitch inside of it and removed it and it has felt much better since. Friday I had another ear appointment they removed the tubes. I really should have taken someone with me cause oh my it was the worst thing I have done in a very long time. It hurt so bad. They didn't numb or nothing.. It was crazy. But, once they were gone and they patched the holes with paper stuff I could hear. About 2 hours later I was no longer dizzy. I felt good.

Saturday morning the boys and I dragged Jeannette and the kids to SAFE KIDS DAY. They had fun and I bought a life jacket for Robbie for 10 bucks and Jeannette got helmets for her 3 kiddos for 15 bucks total (5 bucks a helmet). The kids had fun going around gathering things and learning about different things.

After the safe kids day, all 7 of us went and got chicken and a coke and came back to our house and ate lunch and let the kids play. About 4 I received a text from Jeannette asking if we wanted to go to the show. I said sure so 2nd date for the day here we come. We met at the cheap seats and watched Diary of a Whimpy Kid. Pretty good little show.

Kennen has worked a lot of long hours. He worked a ton yesterday hence the reason he wasn't with us going to the movies. He is way busy there.

Hope you all have a SAFE week. We love you all. This last week it was some friends birthdays so a shout out and a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Afton and Sandra. We love and miss you both. Also my mom's father in law passed away and we would like to send our love to her and Jack.
