Spiritually Fed Wednesday

There has been a lot of discussion at our house about what happens when one dies. In the picture I posted is my dear friend Kirstin with my little Sidders. This dear friend just passed away and it has been very hard. Kirstin is the one we go to movies with, she and I take each other on dates. We were able to go see Carrie Underwood together and also The Chorus Line. We talked often and she would send me happy texts through out the week. So since the hearing of her passing the boys have asked what happens when one dies....

Thankfully, we have the knowledge of what happens when we die. We have the knowledge of eternal families.. We know that when one passes away that it is not a bad thing. That the one who passes away enters into the spirit world. What is the spirit world? well the spirit world is a place of waiting, working, learning, and, for the righteous, resting from care and sorrow. Our spirits will live there until we are ready for our resurrection. Then our mortal bodies will once more unite with our spirits, and we will receive the degree of glory we have prepared for. President Ezra Taft Benson said: "Sometimes the veil between this life and the life and the life beyond becomes very thin. Our loved ones who have passed on are not far from us"

The prophet Alma in the Book of Mormon taught about 2 divisions or states in the spirit world: (I am only going to talk about one) "The spirits of those who are righteous are received into a state of happiness, which is called paradise, a state of rest, a state of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow."

I am thankful to have known Kirstin. What a wonderful example she was to me and the boys. She was one of the most unselfish people I have met. She did yard work all summer for those who couldn't.. she worked with the kiddos at the child development center and loved them.. she thought of others and helped them even when she was exhausted.. she tutored many who needed help... she was an amazing person and I am a better person for knowing her. One day when I grow up I want to be a touch of how Kirstin was. ( Cause I can't be her cause she was her ) We love you Kirstin and will miss you so very very much. Here is a link to her obituary page.

Spiritually Fed Wednesday

I think the picture sums up today.. hehehe no, I have a few thoughts. I love prayer. I love that everyone can pray. I love that it is the way we can speak to our Heavenly Father. I love that I can let him know of my fears, hopes, desires, love, etc..

I find prayer to be one thing that ALL man has in common even if we don't belong to the same religion. I don't know if you are all aware, but we homeschool the boys. We attend a pe class put on by the boys and girls club here in town. I am the only LDS person there and the rest come from other religions. These ladies have opened their hearts and arms to me. I love them so very much. They have prayed for us they have loved us they listen to me when I just need to talk. They have shown me the love of Christ. They have accepted me for me and who I am. Yes, they have been an answer to my prayers.

Yesterday at PE one of the kind ladies that I love so much was telling us about her 93 year old father in law.. he had broken his leg not because of a fall but because the cancer (they didn't know was there) had made the bone very brittle. When they did the xray and found this, they did a full body mri to see if it was only in one location.. well, it wasn't. This family called everyone they knew from their church, family members etc.. They simply asked all of them to pray for this man. Some prayed for the cancer to leave, others prayed for him to recover quickly and pain free from the surgery that he was going to be having a rod put in his leg. Yesterdays report was of good cheer. The cancer is no longer in his body. no, the doctors did not remove it.. The pain is not there and yes this 93 year old man is trying to walk again (which the dr. said he wouldn't)

I think wow!!! I Love that Our Heavenly Father hears and answers everyone's prayers. I think if we all have faith and we all come together for a just cause so many things can happen. I love knowing about prayer..

"when you left your room this morning did you think to pray?" Love that song..

Happy Wednesday.. Love you all!!!!

TunaFish ewwww!!!!

HELLO!!! hope you all are doing well. We are doing so much better. We all feel almost human again. YIPPEE!!!!

I really don't know if I have felt that bad in a very long time. Not only did we have the cold/flu (not really sure what it was) but I lost my voice on top of it. Sid had an infection which made the fever go on and on and on sorta like the energizer bunny... Took him to the doctor got him on an antibiotic and man today is so much better... coughs are all that are remaining.. Oh and tiredness. I really don't think moms sleep much when munchkins, hubbies and self are sick.

Anywho.. Let me explain 2 of the pictures... we made Robbie eat a half of a tuna fish sandwhich.. He gagged, choked, cried, threw up... It was so funny!!! I know mean mean mean mom. But I am tired of him only eating what he wants. Rice and reeces peanut butter cups.

One of the pictures is Sid's finger that he smashed in the car door. The other 2 are of the heart garlands Sid and I made.

We hope you have had a GREAT week. Love being sent to you all!!!

Spiritually Fed Wednesday

Today is going to be short as we are all sick...

My thought is.... we are ALL children of a loving Heavenly Father. Just remember the primary song "I am a Child of God" whenever you are feeling down.. He is there for you and Loves you no matter what.

Happy Wednesday!!!

hello! hello!

How are you all doing? We are doing well. The weather has been bitter cold, so we hang out at home. Kennen has been sick which is not a good thing cause it means he and I don't sleep. We are hoping he is on the mend since has been 4 days, but as of right now he still isn't feeling well.

The boys are doing well, I can't believe how big they are getting. Everyday is so much fun at our house. We are learning so much together. Sid is doing well with reading. Yes each word is still sounded out but it is so lovely. He is doing well with the site words of (the, and, I, A, be, we, to, go) he knows them right off hand.. YIPPEE!!! Robbie is doing well... He is thriving in his school work as well. The boys love art, pe and science...

The pictures I posted are not recent ones they were taken the first of January.. but I don't think I have posted pictures since then. I really need to get back in the habit of taking pictures. That should be my goal... I will remember my camera again everytime we leave the house.

So I just have to post on here so I don't forget something Sid said last night. We were watching AFV and a commercial came on for mcdonalds. It was the one for the caramel mocha.. Well Robbie pipes up and says hmm that may be good. Sid says you can't drink that stuff.. Coffee makes your boobs swell. It was so funny!!! anywho! hope that makes you smile this day. Love you!!!

Spiritually Fed Wednesday

What a day to be thankful... I have learned so many lessons upon moving. Some have been hard lessons, okay most have been hard lessons for me. Some have been easy to accept and others have been very challanging.

This morning as I was doing school with the boys we were discussing the Prophet Joseph Smith. We discussed his sincere prayer when Heavenly Father and Jesus appeared in the pillar of light, we discussed Moroni coming to visit, we discussed the golden plates and why it took 4 years and many visits from Moroni before Joseph was able to actually take the plates. Then we discussed the translation and the tools used. Then in my little 6 year old eyes you could see something... he asked if we could sing the golden plates.. So we did.. Then my sweet 11 year old said, but mom Joseph Smith was teased and persacuted because of his visit with Heavenly Father and Jesus. Which brought in another discussion.. Isn't it interesting how much our little ones understand? Isn't it grand that they can see many of the same things happening around them as it happened around Joseph Smith.

In the Testimony of the Prophet Joseph he states this: "He called me by name, and said unto me that he was a messenger sent from the presence of God to me, and that his name was Moroni; that God had a work for me to do; and that my name should be had for good and evil among all nations, kindreds, and tongues, or that it should be both good and evil spoken of among all people." I think to myself wow, I wonder if I would have run and not been obedient to all that was asked of me knowing the things Joseph Smith knew. or.. would I have been able to hold strong and carry out the work that needed to be done.

I have a very strong testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith.. I am thankful for him and I am thankful for his strength and his willingness to do ALL that was asked of him by our Heavenly Father. What an amazing man he was.

If you haven't read up on Joseph Smith recently, I challange you to do so. I love you all and know that I am here for you if you need me.
