St. George 1/2 Ironman 2014

This was yet another race I signed up for that I was not able to do.  Lesson to be learned…don't sign up for a bunch of races too far in advance because he may lose a lot of money and be a little disappointed each time that race comes around.  Luckily I couldn't do the races for a good reason.  I was growing my baby girl so it really didn't bug me that bad but I am excited to get back into running (hopefully sooner than later depending on my injury)

We had a great mini vacation in SG.  We stayed with the Wests at their house and our kids love each other so they are pretty entertained the entire time.  We went to the splash pad multiple times, went out to eat, parks, swimming, sand hallow reservoir to do the bike check and let the kiddos/ tay swim and play in the sand, and of course the race.  Kids had a great time and slept pretty good which is always key to a good vacation.  I still felt good being prego until the day of the race when I was stupid.  A few days before at Joe's and Kinsey's wedding I pulled my back but I was still walking ok and could still workout which is so nice, but the morning of the race Kylee were running late and didn't want to miss our boys going into the water so we ran up the ramp and I felt my back pull bad.  The rest of day I was hobbling around :( and that was the beginning of my horrible stages of pregnancy.  I pulled by back when I was pregnant with Kace but it was only 2 weeks before I delivered him.  This was 6 weeks before and I knew it was going to be along 6 weeks.  

The race went well at the beginning.  Tay killed the swim and the bike but he went into the race with a calf injury and was just praying that it was miraculously going to be better but it wasn't so he started to run out of transition area and had to turn around immediately because he knew it was going to be an awful 13 miles and he knew it wasn't worth the outcome so he pulled out of the race.  I was so proud of him for being smart because I know what it's like to get caught up in a race.  

We had a great weekend hanging out with the Wests and the Andersons!

We watched my friend Angie's little Crew for a few days while she was in Europe.  He is the cutest boy ever and my kids love him but man they were really good at making a mess!  And speaking of mess I love this picture of Kace eating cake :)

I just thought these pics were too cute and perfect.  kaylee and Kinsey seriously are good friends and get along great!  Whenever these cute kids come over kinsey immediately wants to put Kaylee's swim suits and gymnastics outfits on.  I love that they both put their swimsuits on backwards

Then there was Nixon and Stockton who were making forts and getting into more mischief :)

The night before the wedding I had a major mishap.  at 11pm I laid the bridesmaid dress right on top of a candle!  Let's just say a few swear words flew out of my mouth!  It was the night before the wedding and Kinsey's family spent a lot of money on that dress and I would look like an idiot!  I text messaged the seam stress immediately and she was so accommodating and told me to drive up right then and she would take care of it.  It was obviously a long night and the start to a great but long day :) 

This wedding was gorgeous!  Joe and Kinsey are perfect!  It was so neat to attend a temple ceremony for a wedding.  When I got married that moment was amazing but honestly I don't remember much.  At Joe and Kinsey's ceremony I was able to listen intently and really reflect on eternal marriage and the covenants I made with my husband and being there with him made it even more special because we were both feeling the spirit and taking in what words the sealer was saying.  I'm so grateful to be married to my amazing husband!  I seriously love him more than words can express!  

After the ceremony we did pictures and honestly it was FREEZING!  The kids (and us) were miserable!  it was the longest hour ever!  After pics they had the luncheon and then we were able to take a small break and head back to my moms to get the kids.  Wedding days are crazy and we were basically running around all day.  As we were leaving my mom's house I couldn't find my shoes.  I knew I was in major trouble and we didn't have much time so we cruised to payless drug store and got another pair of shoes and on our way up to the natural history museum Tay got a speeding ticket.  

The night turned out to be a great night.  The wedding was so pretty and every little touch was perfect.  Towards the end of the night my kids were starting to get so tired and melting down.  I picked up kaylee and was holding her and all of a sudden I felt a pull in my back.  I did this with my pregnancy with kace and was hoping that it wasn't too bad.  I ended up leaving a tiny early because I was in pain, tired and kids were done. Tay stayed and had a great time on the dance floor.  Wish we could've stayed but it was a long day and hard being pregnant :)
