MEMORIES OF ERNEST QUENTIN OTTLEY
This is a picture of my dad at Kendra's Wedding.
Today, June 9, 2009, is my dads birthday he would have been 89 years old. To me my father was a great man. I would call him a man of valor. He was man who stood up for things that were right and he was someone that I could look up to. When I was growing up I always tried to take as big of strides as my dad when we walked to church. I always tried to out sing my dad because I knew he liked to hear me sing. I loved sitting in the front room playing the piano for him nearly every night after dinner when I was a teenager. He was always my greatest audience. My dad always wore cowboy boots. When I was a small girl I loved standing on my dad's shoes as we danced around the living room. More than anything I loved that my dad taught me the importance of the power of the priesthood. As I seemed to be a rather sickly child, I was always receiving priesthood blessings under his strong calloused hands. I always knew if I needed anything my dad would help me. He taught me the power of prayer and the wealth of hard work. The greatest thing he taught me was to study the scriptures and to learn the importance of temple work. His example is greatly appreciated by me, my husband and my children. The most important thing to my dad was his family. He loved family reunions and loved being with his own children. Some of his final words were "I love my Family". Our lives have been richly blessed because we are the decendants of Quentin and Thora Ottley. The children of Thora and Quentin Ottley and their spouses.
