I'm very excited to go teach in Denver this weekend. It is so fun to travel with the horses to show off and have it NOT be a competition. I found this little jumper necklace at the local tack store today when I went to return some defective gloves. Hard to tell in the photo, but it is a perfect horse and rider with incredible detail in the saddle and bridle! I will look the part when I go teach this weekend!

Stock Show
I went with my friend Rebecca to stock show in Denver and we watched the draft horse competition. These were in the 6-in-hand class. Let me tell you, that was a LOT of horse to control with 2 leather reins. We also saw some of the stock dog herding competition, with border collies trying to get a group of 3 sheep around an obstacle course. Those dogs were amazing, and LOVED their job. The sheep weren't amused, and one was a runner, bolting and heading for the wrong end of the arena as often as he could.
We also tried on the exotic attire of The West. Including hats with skulls on them, feathers, purple yak fur lined leather jackets, scarves, belts with more sequins than leather, and we tried on $300 silver bracelets. That night we stayed in a hotel in Denver and came home in the morning. A fun girls night out!

Comfy Miles
This is one of Miles (and my) favorite parts of being in the house. Snuggling on my chair. We sit for about an hour in the afternoons watching the Ellen Degeneres show, and sometimes a little bit in the evening after dinner. I am so glad he's alive and going to be fine.

Weekend at Bit of Honey
This weekend I took 3 client horses to a cattle sorting on Sat. None of them had ever been to anything like it before. Two 12 year old mares and a 3 year old gelding. There was a HUGE group there. I was expecting maybe a dozen people, but when we pulled in, a half hour EARLY, there were already about 50 horses there. All told I'm sure there were about 80-90 horses. My horses got to ride in absolute bedlam in the warm-up arena, and then stand in a standing-room-only arena to watch other groups go into the small pens with the cattle while the riders whooped, hollered, and cows ran and smashed into fencing. It was an experience.
After
watching me haul 3 horses to something fun yesterday (he didn't know it
involved cows), Cecil was feeling neglected and desperate to come out
and play. I have never met a horse that loved traveling as much as he does. Instead of eating his own grain, he opened his gate and ran
straight for the arena while I was feeding Major. So I joined Cecil in
the arena and we did some liberty work (no halter or rope). Free
lunging to warm up, a little passage, tempo work over ground poles, and
jumping 2' as I point to the designated fence. He refuses to let me
forget that HE is my main squeeze. Love my Cecil. Frank also watched
closely, as he is beginning HIS liberty work and Cecil was giving a 5
star demonstration. I need to get these things on video.

Nase's thoughts on Miles' house dog status
![]() |
| WHEN will Miles go back to working outside so I can have my house back? |
Nase has had a big adjustment to having Miles in the house. At first Nase kept vigil over Miles in bad shape in the crate in the living room. Once Miles started feeling better Nase was banished to the mud room or under the bed while Miles was loose. Now they have reached an agreement that they can share the house, as long as Miles has first choice for toys, food, attention, and best resting spots. It has given Nase a little more courage to have Miles in the house with him - he is no longer panicky when I pull out a camera. (Scary clicking noises)
