Ten months

Cade is totally 10 months old!  Time for another update:

Physical Changes:
Cade's top 2 teeth are in.   He is getting cuter each day.

Mobility
Cade is a maniac crawler.  He is fast and will go everywhere all of the time.  He is getting more balance on his feet and has been able to stand for a few seconds at a time.  He can walk holding on with just one hand.

Eating
The major accomplishment here is that Cade is not nursing any more.  I was done and so we kept trying the sippy cup.  Finally he took it if I added some juice.  Then one day we ran out of juice and he just drank the formula.  That was the beginning of the end.  Cade eats anything and everything but not all of the time.  Some days he likes eggs and some days he doesn't.  He still has his favorites.  One of my favorite things he does is when he is sitting in the high chair and I pull out the container of applesauce.  He gets a big smile and makes a really excited noise.  When he is really hungry or eating something he loves, he opens his mouth super wide.  Cade loves to eat.  If we are having a meal, he wants to join in, even if he just ate his food.

Sleeping
Pretty much the same as at 9 months.  wakes, 2 naps 1.5-2hr and bed between 6:30 and 7:00.  He is usually up for about 3 hours between bedtimes.

Play
Cade loves to read books, knock down towers, pull out diapers and wipes, climb up stairs and play with doors.  He tries to climb in the bathtub when I turn the water on.  He is very interested in things that Kirk and I have like computers, phones, waterbottles, keys and Kirk's hat.  He loves to go outside and won't leave me alone once I've picked up keys.  He cries everytime I put him in the carseat but is fine when we start moving.  As soon as the car shuts off, he starts kicking his feet and wants to get out.
We went for a walk yesterday morning and saw the sprinklers on.  I pulled Cade out of the stroller and put his feet and hands in the water.  He loved it.  We kept walking and I saw some sprinklers that were watering the parking lot.  I pushed the stroller and we ran through them.  Cade loved it and we did it a few times.  He was just giggling!  I am going to try to find those sprinklers again.
Our pool also opened up this month.  Cade has fun walking around in his floaty ring in the baby pool and he kicks his feet and plays with balls in the big pool.

Other
Cade is still scared of strangers.  It got so bad that if someone said hi to him at the grocery store he would start to cry.  We had my sister and parents here and it took Cade 5 days to get used to Melissa, 3 for my dad and about 5 for my mom.  He would just cry if I left the room with one of them.  It all worked out though.
Cade also got his first fever this month.  He woke up more than normal at night and I noticed his head felt really hot.  We took his temp and it was 104!  I called the nurse and she told us to give him tylenol and bring him in first thing in the morning.  We did that and he was up to 105.8 when the nurse took it.  We gave him some ibuprofen at the doctor office and they wanted us to wait for about 45 min to watch Cade.  He also had rash and was pretty out of it.  They also gave him some antibiotics in case he had an ear infection, but they said it was doubtful.  He was doing ok and they told us we can go home but come back the next morning.  We continued giving him tylenol and ibuprofen for the next 24 hours and his fever was pretty much gone the next day.  The doctors told us he has some virus that wasn't named and he was fine a few days later.
We also bought Cade a new carseat because he is outgowing the infant carrier.  We haven't put it in the car yet and he is really enjoying using it as a lazyboy.

Project: picture collage

I decided I wanted a project to work on.  I enlisted Kirk to help me make this picture collage I found on Amy's blog.  First, we bought a 24"x48" piece of 1/4" wood at Lowe's.  I had them cut it into 3 pieces (2 at 8.5" and one at 7")

We spray painted the boards black
I used my new Cricut to cut out the words.  It was great to be able to cut the exact size and font I wanted!
Used Mod Podge to glue the words down to the tops of each of the 8.5" boards.
We got 5x7 prints of some of our favorite places we've been.  (I had a coupon code for free prints, just pay for shipping!)  Each of the pictures is from a different place and is just scenery, no people.  Most of the shots are of things you can't see from a road or parking lot.  We used more mod podge to stick the pictures to the boards and on top to protect them.  I put 2 nails at the top and bottom of each board to hold them to the wall.  New, unique way to display our favorite places.
