Cami's Birthday

On March 3 Cami turned 2!!  Its funny to think that when Cade turned 2 we had just moved to Washington and life was changing a lot.  Cami was so excited for her birthday.  She knew that she was going to get presents.  I asked her what she wanted for a treat and she picked brownies.  I gave her lots of choices for dinner and she picked pizza and root beer.  She is a fun girl!

I took Cade to the dollar store so he could pick out a gift for Cami.  He was so excited and when we came home we wrapped the present and hid it so Cami couldn't find it.  He gave it to her on her birthday and she loved it.  He got her a pink wand with a plush star and ribbons on the end.  He also got her a set of stickers with cats and dogs.  We gave Cami a baby bottle, a table and 4 folding chairs.  They have all gotten used!  Scott and Kara came over for treats and gave Cami a pair of princess shoes and some bubbles.  Cami also had fun opening a magnetic paper doll set from my parents.  Kirk's mom sent some play food and dishes.

Kirk was gone all day on Cami's birthday, but we still had a lot of fun.  We went to the library in the morning and colored pictures.  My aunt Dar came over an visited and brought a gift for Cami.  After naptime we went to Dairy queen and got slushes.  We played at the park for a bit and picked up our pizza.  When we got home we had 3 big boxes on our porch from the delivery man.  So all at once we ate pizza, opened the boxes from Grandma and Skyped with Kirk's parents.  It was a crazy 30 minutes.

Cami in February

Cami is almost 2!  I love this age and she is super fun.  She talks all of the time.  She is very independent and wants to do everything herself, even things she really can't do.  She loves Cade and wants to be just like him.  Some highlights from the month. . .

  • We were reading the picture Book of Mormon for scriptures one night and I pointed out Alma in one of the pictures.  Cami found him in every other picture and kept asking "That Alma?" over and over again.  I couldn't really read any more because she was so noisy.
  • We decorated cookies at a friend's house for Valentine's day.  Cami got a hold of one of the bottles of sprinkles and dumped them all over her plate.  She dumped out like 3/4 of the bottle.  She spent the next 20 minutes eating sprinkles.  oh well.  I felt bad that the floor got so messy, but at least sprinkles vacuum up pretty quick.
  • We went and rode the carousel and Cami loved it.  She was very serious the whole time she was on the ride, and didn't smile at all.  As soon as it was over, though, she said "horsey again?"  over and over.
  • Cade loves to choose Cami's clothes.  So does Cami.  She ends up with some interesting outfits.  Often, one of them will choose her shirt and the other will choose her pants.  Cami loves to wear skirts with her pants too.  If her shirt gets wet or dirty during the day, she will go upstairs and get a new one.  She does not like to be dirty.
  • One day she was going upstairs to play with Cade and she said "bye-bye Mommy.  Go upstairs.  Love you!"  It was super cute.
  • She loves to wear my and Kirk's shoes.
  • She likes to have her hair done in a pony tail and will tell me if she wants one or two that day.
  • She will not let me help her get in the car.  She will do it all by herself.  If I try to help, she climbs down and does it again.  We just have to make sure we have plenty of time to get in the car whenever we go anywhere.
  • She loves to listen to stories.  She will sit for 10-15 minutes (a long time for a 2 year old) and listen to books.  Some of her favorites are the seek-and-find books where you have to find a specific object on each page.
  • Cami is still a great eater.  She loves asparagus, chicken and broccoli.  She also eats a lot of yogurt and oranges.  Her favorite treat is ice cream.
  • Cami likes to pretend to be Santa clause and puts on our santa hat and asks everyone "Want Christmas?"  then she will go get you whatever you say, either pretend or real.
  • Cami loves to put stickers on paper and glue papers together.  She spends a lot of time at church coloring in notebooks too.  One day I picked her up from class and she was crying saying "color picture" because they didn't have one to color that day.
