Pizza field trip

The dad of one of the kids in Cade's little preschool group owns the Papa Johns around here. We had a field trip and he took us on a tour and let each of the kids make their own pizza. It was super fun!

today.

I woke up to Kirk's alarm at 5:45.  We were lazy and didn't get up until 6:30.  It felt nice.

I made lunch for Kirk and then some scrambled eggs and toast for the rest of us.  Cade got up about 6:40 and started building his castle and at breakfast with us.  Kirk left about 7:15 and Cami woke up at 7:20.  I got her dressed and breakfast then changed into my biking clothes, emptied the garbage in the house, started a load of laundry (Cade's sheets and pajamas--do it everyday!).

I rode my bike for 30 minutes while Cade and Cami entertained themselves with stickers.  While biking I read my email and looked at new wheel systems for Kirk's pontoon boat.  I got them some more toast and some playdough and repackaged some hamburger while we waited for the garbage truck to come.  They ate their snack and played with the play dough and then we ran outside to see the truck.  I got Daniel Tiger set up and they watched that while I showered and got ready for the day.

I sat down with Cami to play with pom poms and we sorted them by colors into a muffin tin.  I made a grocery list.  They both wanted to make one too so I got them notebooks and colored pencils to use.  I called Sportsmans warehouse to see about the wheel.

We left the house about 9:45.  Stopped at the gas station then went to Sportsman's.  We found the wheel right off and then wandered around the store looking at the animals on the walls.  We went to Costco and got some food and diapers and all of the samples we could find.  We made one more quick stop at Fresh Picks for asparagus. Got home about 11:45.

I brought the food in and made quesadillas for lunch.  We ate, Cade cried and wouldn't finish.  I called Lindsey to ask her a question about making muffins.  Cami and I cleaned up and Cade finished his lunch and then cried again because he didn't want to help clean up.  I put Cami in bed and then took the tablet away from Cade that he had sneaked into his room.  He finally (and happily) cleaned up and we had quiet time.

I did the dishes, worked on some computer stuff and read a conference talk.  Cade came back down and we made muffins and got some pictures ready to mail to Daniel and Josh.  Cami woke up about 2:15.  We walked to the mail box and then came back and ate muffins.

3:00 we went outside to play.  I talked to my mom for a bit and then we walked over to the trails and collected dandelions.  Cade made a bird nest with anything he could find--grass, leaves, pinecones, pine needles, sticks etc.  Cami and I laid on the grass for a bit before being recuited to help build the bird nest.  We came back in, stopping to talk to our neighbor for a minute, about 4:15.

I got some food out for dinner--chicken, salad and zucchini.  I was just washing up some of the dishes from making muffins when Kirk called.  He was planning on coming home but had a lot of work to get done.  Sometimes I will bring him dinner but tonight it wasn't ready so we met at Costa Vida by his office about 5:00.  Cade was going crazy at the restrauant.  He was really excited.  Cami ate lots of chips and salsa.  We went back to the office and let the kids play on the slide for a while and then see the fish.  Then Cade asked Kirk a million questions about where he fixes teeth and how the chairs worked and what is this and can we go in the basement?  Finally I got them out of there.

We got home about 6:30 and I got pajamas on, teeth brushed, scriptures read, prayers said, songs sung and lights out by 7:05.  I came down and cleaned up the toys left on the floor and finished up the muffin dishes and sat down to type this.

Now it is 7:41.  All is quiet in my house.  It was a busy day, but also pretty normal. The only different thing we did was go to Costa Vida but taking Kirk dinner and playing at the office for a bit is pretty normal.  I think it is crazy how a day can go by so fast.  I wonder where my time goes and what I do and so I wanted to write it out.  Tomorrow is another one, and then we have 3 more before a weekend.  The days are long, but the weeks fly by and before I know it, Cade will be starting school and then graduating like the next month.

I want to try to spend as much time as I can with my kids while they are young.  Tonight while I sang Cade his songs he leaned over and gave me a hug and a kiss.  They are both so sweet and innocent and just want to play and have fun.  I am super lucky to be their Mom.
