Ellie is about the cutest baby I have ever seen. I don't know how we got so lucky! She is really happy. She lights up and smiles every time someone talks to her, even if it is a brand new face. She loves to crawl around and explore where ever we are--church, park, home. She loves to stand up. She LOVES to climb up the stairs and is getting pretty fast. Cade likes to follow her up so she doesn't fall. When she is upstairs, her favorite place is the bathroom, right by the tub. She loves baths. She also loves her mommy. I get several hugs a day. Whenever Ellie needs something, she crawls over and climbs up my legs. She is usually hungry or tired, but sometimes I think she just wants to be held and see what is going on. She loves to just sit in the middle of wherever Cade and Cami are playing and chew on toys. She likes stroller rides. She likes to eat--crackers, tomatoes, fruit, veggie straws, zucchini are some favorites. She does not like peas or sweet potatoes. Ellie has awesome hair. It still pokes up and out in lots of places. I'm hoping it gets nice and thick. Most of the time Ellie is pretty quiet, but when she decides to talk, she can be really loud. AAAHAH!! When I put her to bed, Ellie usually lays on my shoulder and I sing her a song and then she reaches for her bed. She usually cries for a minute or two and then falls asleep. Right now she naps at 9:15 for 1-1.5 hours and again at 1:30 for 1.5-2 hours. She goes to bed around 7:00 and is up about 6:30. Not a bad schedule. I love my Ellie. She is getting big and still just a baby all at once.
Cami is her own personality!! Cami is loving and cares about others, especially Ellie. Sometimes she bugs Ellie because she is trying too hard to help her. Cami is independent and often tells me to not help her. She also loves hugs. Right after a bath, Cami likes to get 3 hugs wrapped up in her towel. Cami does not like me to tell her what to do. She will explain to me what I am doing wrong and I will tell her what the rules are. For example, this morning she wanted more juice, but had not eaten her breakfast at all. I told her to eat a pancake and then she could have juice. She countered with give me juice, and then I will eat my pancake. I told her no and she was trying to tell me I had to pour her juice and then she would eat and then drink her juice. I told her no again and that she needed to eat if she wanted any more juice. She did eat, but its crazy how often she tries to tell me how to do my job. Silly girl! She loves to have her hair done pretty and her toenails painted. She loves to wear new clothes and pick out her shoes. She loves to ride her bike and go fast. She loves swimming at Liam's house (as of 2 weeks ago). She is usually really cute and sweet and tries to please and be kind. She enjoys her nursery class. She is getting really good at coloring and staying in the lines. Cami likes to be covered up at night and Cade does not. she now insists on doing her own buckle in the car. She likes it when Cade is at preschool and she is kind of in charge. She talks a lot and has stepped up to help a bit more. Yesterday I was asking them what they wanted to do and Cami reminded me that she has one more dollar from her birthday and that we should go shopping. She refused to set the table when it was her night last week and I told her that she could go to her room if she wouldn't do it. She chose to go to her room. On the way, she moved the baby gate so Ellie could follow her up the stairs, because she wanted Ellie to play with her. She has gotten in trouble for this before and knows it is wrong. I took Ellie back down and made her stay in her room for a bit. She never did set the table, but stayed there until it was time to eat. I love my Cami Cam. She definitely has a mind of her own though!
Cade is our handsome guy! He is loving preschool. He loves to play with his friends--Liam, Walter, and Duke are his favorites right now. He has a lot of fun with William and Everett too, even though they are a different age. Cade loves to ride his bike and goes super sonic speed. Cade still likes to talk and talk and talk. He explains things to me all of the time. He wants to say it just right, so I understand. He is trying to figure out time and how long an hour is and what 10:00 means. He is learning a lot of math and reading skills. He can be a really good helper when he wants to. He likes to set rules about cleaning up like everyone has to pick up 10 and 10 things or he will do blocks and I can do cars. He likes to play with Ellie and help her get toys. Cade does a great job in Primary when asked to share a scripture or prayer. Last time he had the scripture memorized. I was watching from a seat. When he got up to do it, the primary counselor asked if he needed help and he told her he could do it on his own and he did great! A lot of the kids older than him can't do that. Cade also likes golf. He loves to go with Kirk and ride in the cart. He has been practicing with his clubs and can hit a ball up in the air pretty well. He loves to watch golf with Kirk and knows the names of several PGA players. He pays attention to whatever we say and will later ask me about stuff I told Kirk. He likes to know what is going on.
