HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

I am sitting here and can not believe I was able to do this. These simple acts everyday have not been an easy task but definitely worth it. My wife means so much to me. No, my wife means everything to me and to show her in any capacity how much, is an absolute pleasure. After 7 years I still can not believe I am blessed enough to be in love with my best friend. Lucky enough to give her a fraction of the romance she deserves. Crazy enough to try to do something original.

Today I took some of my favorite things and combined them into one day of simple romance.

For our anniversary I took the blog entries and made it into a hard bound book for MK.

The kids have one of those airplane (hide and seek) bags. You basically shake it up to find items inside of the bag. I decided to open it up and add my own little item. I wrote I Love MK on a small piece of paper and placed it inside the bag. When MK came home I asked her to look for a new item. After a minute she found the note inside.

Go Deejai

Date Night. We are on a roll.
Cameron and Eliza spent the night with Nana and Poppi tonight and we took full advantage. We tried a new restaurant, Deejai. This place didn't have high chairs stacked 8 deep at the front door or crayons and placemats tied to each menu. This was an upscale Thai restaurant and it was great. We sat outside alone and it was beautiful. The best dinner experience we have had in a very long time. Afterwards, we drove over to Queens rd west and Selwyn Rd. the site of Hope for Sydney. We showed our support for Sydney and 24 hours of Booty. Wonderful and meaningful evening.
Lord knows I love my kids but I also love being alone with my wife.

Security! Security!

Today MK left for the Airport, however when she arrived the security terminal was under construction. The 2 hours earlier than departure time didn't seem to matter. MK and about 30 other passengers ended up missing their flights. So, I was initially frustrated at the situation but quickly became happy with the idea of having another night with my wife.

MK complains about how I watch the TV sometimes. When it's noisey and i'm focused on the television I will get up from my set and stand about 2 feet from the screen and zone out. I know it's a bad habit but I still do it, especially during sporting events. So, I placed an note on the TV which read: just wanted you to know, i'd much rather stare at you. What she didn't know was that the Final Four was coming on tommorrow.

Sticky Fingers

MK and I were in the kitchen and I pulled out an index card. I asked her to think of a question about our relationship such as: Are we soulmates? or Will we be together forever? and write it on the card. I reached into our change dish and grabbed a penny. I told her to call it in the air as I flipped the coin. I said heads is yes and tails is no. She called heads. The answer was yes. The question on the card she flipped over: Where we meant to be together?

The setup: The questions I suggested were pretty much the same as the one MK thought of. All the questions implied a yes answer. Also, earlier in the day I superglued two pennies together with both heads on the outside. So, the coin I dug out of the dish was placed in there earlier.

Note: If you are going to super glue two pennies together, use gloves. Otherwise, you end up with sticky fingers

I googled "how to make a paper boat" and came across this video. Since it was raining today I put the boat in a puddle on our patio. I placed a note on the patio glass with the quote:

Im not The Bachelor

Ok, anyone who saw the final episode of The Bachelor will agree that it lived up to all of the hype. It was great mindless television. In case you missed it, here's my recap:
The Bachelor, beloved by all, gets down to 2 girls. Says goodbye to one, has obvious doubt, but picks the other girl. Not only picks put proposes. They lived happily ever after until the update show. On the show, Jason (The Bachelor) dumped his fiance' on national TV and then after the commercial break asked the dissed girl to get back together. She says ok. Wow!

After the airing I sent MK a message to her phone. It read:

Cameron has a homework assignment every night and tonight was to write down his favorite season and why. He said his was summer because he can go to the pool. No Kiss

Wednesday (I believe) is exactly half way through these 365 days and on this day, no romance. No k.i.s.s. but for good reason. Eliza became sick on Sat. and for the past several days has become unable to hold anything down. Finally her pediatrician told us to take her to the ER. We ended up at the Emergency Room at 8:45 and didn't leave until 3:30. Eliza seems to be doing a little bit better but is still far from her normal self. So no romance on this day. Just taking care of our baby girl.

When we were laying down for bed I took a label and stuck it to the side of my pajama sleeve. I put my arm around Eliza (sleep between us because she's sick) and was hoping MK would see the label. However, after a minute or so I realized MK was knocked out. So I took the label and put it on her pillow and when she woke up there was a note stuck to her pillow which said: I LOVE YOU
