The Paci Police

As I have mentioned before, Addison loves pacis. It has been an ongoing saga the past few weeks trying to keep one out of her mouth. So I hid all of the pacis except one for Annalee to keep the temptation to a minimum. She thought all of them had gone bye bye except the purple one that is Annalee's. Today when we were up in the nursery, she found my stash. She didn't know what to do with herself with all of those pacis. She took them all to Annalee and put them in her bed, after trying a few out herself. I have gotten them all back and had to rehide them. Our crazy 2 year old!

Our First 2 Weeks at Home

We are now at home and trying to get adjusted as a family of 4. My mom stayed with us until last Saturday. Janna and Makenlee left last Wednesday with my dad, who came in on Mother's Day. Kevin's family came Mother's Day weekend as well. This has been our first week with just me and the 2 girls. We have done pretty well. Addison is still having a hard time getting adjusted sharing her mom. She likes Annalee most of the time, except when she is taking her mom's attention away. I am sure it will just take time. She does call Annalee "Sister". It is so cute. I guess she got tired of trying to say Annalee so just went with Sister. We have had wonderful meals brought from friends so I haven't had to cook all week. Kevin took off Tuesday and we went to Georgia to visit my friend Katie and to get pictures made by PictureLily photography.

Addison's first time to hold Annalee in hospital

Coming home from hospital (Thursday May 6th)

Checking to see who has the bigger feet

Annalee with cousin Makenlee (9 weeks apart) and Momma J with her granddaughters

Playing with Makenlee. We got this playmat out for her to play with. You would of thought that was Addison's favorite toy and played with it all the time with the fit she made for it. Growing pains!!

We celebrated Addison's birthday on her birthday and then had other little parties when family came in. Here she is making strawberry cupcakes with Momma J. She calls Momma J "J" and her other grandmother, Momma Rose, "Jo". She also calls my dad "JJ" instead of Pappa J. We were trying to get her to call her grandaddy to be "Jo Jo" so it would match.

Singing Happy Birthday for the 2nd and 3rd time. She loves singing Happy Birthday so much now she sings it everytime she sees a candle. I have a citronella candle on my sun porch and she was singing it the other day when she saw that candle.

Addison's new tricycle she got for her birthday

Having fun with Pappa J. She found his hat inside and put it on backwards and went outside to show Pappa J who was planting flowers. Pappa J also built her a swingset while he was here for her birthday. Addison loves it.

I just love this face

We had a small disaster on our hands on Sunday afternoon. By God's grace, it was just small. It could of been much worse. Addison had this full size mirror in her room that was an old door frame. I told her to go get a towel so we could give Sister a bath. She went upstairs and there was one hanging on the old doorknob. She tried to get it and we heard a loud boom. Kevin ran upstairs and pulled her out of the glass. Luckily the mirror only hit her and she didn't get hit by the door. So all we suffered was a cut on her leg. It didn't need stiches, just a big chunk of skin taken off. We have been doctoring it daily and it is getting better.

Addison has always loved her paci and I took them away about 6 months ago. She only got them to sleep then. Now that Annalee has a paci she thinks she needs one as well. I let her have one Sunday since she was pretty upset and in pain. We call her the "paci police". She knows all the colors and where they all are. It is a constant battle right now to keep one out of her mouth. She thinks if sister does not have one in her mouth, she needs one.

Some pictures of Annalee's nursery. I had this sign painted to go above her bed and I just love how it turned out. Check out this girl's website. She did an awesome job. www.etsy.com (posh paints)

We leave Monday night to go to Birmingham and then fly out Tuesday for 2 weeks in Texas to visit family and I am in my best friend's wedding June 5. It should be an adventure. I will have lots of helpers which will be great!

Annalee Rose Coggin is here!!!

Yesterday was an exciting day for our family. Annalee Rose was born on May 4, 2010 at 3:42 PM. She weighs 8 lbs and is 21 inches long. She looks a lot like her sister Addison did when she was born.

This is the last picture as a family of 3 taken the night before Annalee was to arrive.

I was scheduled to be induced Tuesday May 4th (2 days before my due date). Here I am leaving for the hospital. We had to be there at 7am. Kevin, me and Momma J (my mom, also known as "J" according to Addison) rode together. Momma Rose (Kevin's mom, also known as "Jo" according to Addison) met us there

They drew blood work and started my pitocin drip about 9am. When I started, I was at 1 1/2 cm dilated. I looked at my pitocin drip and noticed it had my initials on it. I was having the baby at the hospital where I work. I had checked the IV bag the Friday before. Never knew that drip I checked would be used on me! I started having contractions pretty soon after that. I got an epidural about 11:15am. When they checked me around 12pm I was dilated to 4cm. The doctor did not break my water then because he had to go do another surgery and thought I would go to fast that he would not be back to deliver before the surgery was up. My epidural only worked on half of my body so the anesthesiologist came back in to give me some more medicine. It worked which was nice, but made the side that was already numbed doubly numbed so it took a long time to wear off afterwards. The nurse checked me again about 3:15 pm and said I was ready to go. She said my water had already broken on its own. I started pushing at 3:30 pm and she was out by 3:42 pm. Labor went well, but I did get very nauseated from the medicine.

Here is a nice picture of our little prized fighter!

Here are some of Annalee's first pictures. She has Kevin's hair.

Addison going to see baby sister in the nursery with Daddy. Addison was very overwhelmed and it scared her. She cried. I guess all of those lights and cords in there. She was more interested in cousin, Baby Makenlee, then her baby sister. She was also scared of me because I had an IV in my hand and she did not like that. Addison did give Annalee a kiss when she left to go home.

Kevin says I took Rogaine during my pregnancy. Look at all that hair!!

Annalee is healthy and we are so thankful for that. We are looking forward to going home tomorrow and getting adjusted to our new life as a family of 4.
