Alaska Sea Life Center Part 1

We went to the Sea Life Center in Seward Alaska. It was so much fun. So many things to look at. I have decided cold water fish are much uglier than warmer water fish. The kids had a blast. They were going so fast that I had a really hard time keeping up.

This up there is a close up of a king crab. They were huge!

The shrimp were pretty cool. They were pretty big compared to what I thought we would find. Kaleb has his hand up next to one. The star fish were so cool. I have always loved them. They are so interesting.

See the one with spikes?? Yeah, Kaleb caught one last year and ended up stabbing me in the knee with it. It brought back great memories….. at least Kaleb was laughing at the memory.

This part was probably Grace’s favorite. She loves sea life. And here she was able to touch them. The water was below freezing, but Grace kept reaching in and touching everything….twice.

This one below on the right is an octopus egg sack. It was so crazy to see that they start so small that you really need a magnifying glass, but there is that picture of my hand next to that one and it is so much bigger than my hands.

This one above on the left.. the bigger blob is a baby octopus. And all the little dots on the right picture are baby baby octopus.

More from Homer Alaska

I love Homer. It is so small and pretty. The view is amazing and we always seem to have a good time. Bald eagles are every where there. Literally. Just sitting on buildings and in parking lots. I love bald eagles. They intrigue me. The kids had a blast having a rock skipping contest with Kaleb. We found bald eagle feathers. Moose are every where also. Just random around town and along the highways.

We got to see the Time Bandit. The crab boat from the show Deadliest Catch. That was fun. The kids found snow boards at the B&B we were staying at. They had a blast. We saw volcanoes. We saw the wind blowing the snow up in the mountain tops.

There is a car that was thrown into a tree and it now sits there and will never be taken down. We saw the designated avalanche spots. There was an avalanche that happened during the weekend and they had to uncover the train tracks. The tide was out when we went back to town. Ice chunks everywhere. It was such a great drive and there is always something new and interesting to see.
