Making up for lost time

Here are the pictures I've been meaning to post for over two weeks now. Enjoy!

My Britti-Boo! This picture says it all! She is the light of my life and such a sweet heart. She tells me she loves me and gives me huggies and kissies all the time. There are many times during the day she will come up to me and hug my belly (her "broder") and say, "I love my baby." I have truly been blessed with this one.

This is what happens when I am upstairs getting ready and come downstairs (without a minute to spare) to grab Brittany and go pick Jared up from school. She is so proud of herself, as you can clearly see. If only she knew that this was diaper rash cream and not lotion. Sigh. At the time it was so frustrating, but looking back it wasn't that bad! Oh, and I made it to the school on time.

Jared in his soccer uniform. He loves soccer! Coach Keith (aka my hubby) asked the kids what they wanted their team name to be and they said "Black Fire Balls." I think he is regretting that one now. Brittany and I enjoy watching Jared run around the field every Saturday. He is probably one of the youngest kids on the team, but he keeps up with them and has even had a few real good plays. GO #10!

This is my pregnant belly about two weeks ago. I will update with a current one this week....hopefully. YIKES!

In case you were wondering

I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, it's just been a busy week. If I've had any down time, I've tried to rest (not sleep), just sit and relax. So, I have lots of pictures to download and share and lots of fun outings/stories to tell, but no energy to do so at this moment. Not sure when since this weekend will be busy as well. Sigh.

The good news is I went to the doc on Thursday and he basically said (after some pestering from me, which he was very nice about) that I should probably plan to be induced at 38 weeks! Can I get a whoop whoop?! This is very exciting for me for several reasons. First and foremost, less suffering as the end gets very uncomfortable for me. Secondly, I can plan for my mom to be here for the birth and she can get a reasonable airfare. Thirdly, I will be home and somewhat alert for Halloween. And last, but certainly not least, there is light at the end of the tunnel and in less than 4 weeks I will meet my son, Mason Kingsley. BIG smile here!

Now I must go relax with my hubby and watch the presidential debate. Love that DVR!!

Tweet Tweet

I'm officially a bird! Yep, I'm building a nest over here getting ready for my egg to hatch. Keith and I pulled out the car seat, stroller, and pack and play and started washing it all last night. This morning I am washing the clothes that I have and starting to make my list of things I need. I figure I better do all this while I have the energy and desire because who knows how I'm going to feel in the weeks to come.

The hospital tour

So, I enrolled Jared and Brittany in a Big brother/Big sister class at the hospital and was very excited about it. Well, it turns out Jared has a soccer game that day at that same time so I wasn't sure what to do. I decided that because he will miss the next game he should not miss two games and so I canceled the class. I was very sad about it! But I found a solution and it worked out great! The hospital gives tours every Monday and Wednesday night at 7:30pm and there's no registration needed. So, for family home evening last night we took a trip to the hospital to see where mommy would have the baby. It is a very nice hospital and although it is a bit farther than the closest one, I think it will be worth it. The kids didn't say much, until Brittany had her meltdown. I think Jared was just taking it all in. Brittany was overly tired and ready to go home by the end so she made a small scene. Jared said his favorite part was the room where the ice/drinks/food was. I guess we know where he'll be going when I'm at the hospital. It's hard to believe that I only have 6 maybe 7 more weeks! I'm very excited!

Like I mentioned, Jared is starting soccer this year and he is very excited. Keith has gotten roped into being the head coach and it's so fun! I'm a little unsure of the timing of all this, especially since the season goes til Nov. 1st, but it will be a great experience for both of them. They have already been out practicing and Jared loves to wear his uniform! In fact, the first few days after we bought his shin guards and shoes, he wanted to wear them all the time. They were supposed to have their first practice last Thursday, but the rain put a damper on that. No pun intended. So, their first practice is this Thursday and their first game this Saturday. It will fun to watch. I hope Jared is excited about it then as he is now. Especially because last year was a disaster with pop fly's (a t ball league for preschoolers.)

Brittany has this new past time of cutting (I call it ripping) a piece of paper into little tiny pieces and leaving them scattered all over the house. It is a little annoying, but mostly cute because she is so serious when she is doing it. Keith says she is just like me, always has to be doing something. Yesterday she told me her name was not Brittany, it was Gina (my BFF.) It was real funny. Then this morning she said "Mom look at my baby, Jillian." This is Gina's new baby girl. She must have some kind of admiration for Gina and I can't blame her.

So, I'm thinking that today I will go to Target and get some necessary items and then come home and dig out the baby carrier and see if I can clean it up and make it nice for Mason. Fun times!

Gives me hope

I went to the doctor on Thursday and we talked about the possibility of me being induced early. The fact that Brittany was 9lbs. 11 oz. is a concern. Basically he told me that he will do an ultrasound at 37 weeks and if the baby is 8.5lbs. or bigger he will induce me at 38 weeks. If not he will induce me the following week (last week of October.) Either way this baby will be out before November and that's just fine with me. He is a very active little guy and I just can't wait to meet him. I have really enjoyed feeling him move and I already feel such a bond with him.

We are now thinking of the name "Mason." Keith is really excited about it and it's nice to see him that way. Especially because he wasn't that excited about "Connor." I don't think that is the final decision, but a very good option. Brittany wants to name him "Baby" and Jared is still rooting for "Connor."

Well I better go pick Jared up from preschool. Hopefully they were able to play outside today. He's been dying to do that, but it's been so rainy here that they haven't been able to do that once since school started. We'll see!

One more picture

This is my cute family before church this past Sunday. I'm so excited that Jared will finally wear a tie! YAY! I feel so blessed to have these cute kids and such a handsome husband.

Sunflowers

As we were driving home from Stake Conference on Sunday, I pointed out all the wild sunflowers growing on the side of the road. Jared thought they were pretty cool and so we decided to pick some. After dinner, we headed out to get our bunch! Here are some of the pictures from our adventures.

The pits

Brittany woke up at 7am crying and I thought, "something must be wrong." Keith brought her into me and she was burning up. Yep, a fever of 101. And of course all she wants is mommy. So, I gave her some tylenol and we got Jared off to school. We came home and snuggled in bed and dozed off. At 11am we woke up and she was hot again. So, I tried to give her some more tylenol, however this time she was not receptive. She tried to prevent it and I of course had to give it to her. SO, she not only gagged on it and choked on it, she then threw up! Oh the joys of sick children.

She is finally asleep on the couch (3pm), but of course, it is time for more tylenol. I tried to give it to her in her sippy with juice, but she would only drink half. I guess when Keith gets home I will go get some chewables (this seems to work for Laurenda.) I really hope this a 24 hour thing. Gina's kids had something similiar earlier this week and it only lasted a day. Let's hope it's the same thing. Especially because I have a babysitter for tomorrow night and it's Stake Conference.

Just a couple photos

These are my adorable children! What can I say, they are cute. They are great friends and play so well together. Of course, they have their moments of disagreements, but they are few and far between. Jared is such a sweet, helpful big brother. Brittany copies everything Jared does and really looks up to him. I'm so lucky!

So, this is the cake I made for the Olympic Opening Ceremony Party we went to. I didn't do it alone. Keith gave me the idea to use licorice for the rings and Gina was the one who actually put it all together. It turned out great!
