Our Christmas Best!

These are photos from Sunday after church in our Christmas Best!

Gingerbread Houses

We made Gingerbread Houses with Chelsea and Avery on Saturday. The kids loved it and Keith and Jared made a "garage" on theirs. We had a great time with Chels and Ave and look forward to seeing them in Dallas after Christmas. Brittany and Avery are so cute together and get into all sorts of trouble. For instance, yesterday while we were jumping Chelsea's car (it was too cold outside), the girls decided to have a little "unwrapping" party with the presents under the tree. Luckily, I caught them before they could get them all unwrapped and they knew they were in trouble! Then later that same day, they were upstairs and I heard some loud noises so I asked Chelsea to check on them (I was feeding Mason.) Apparently they decided to take a "little shower" (in Brittany's own words.) Brittany's hair was pretty wet and so were both their socks. We still aren't sure exactly what happened in there. All I know is that those two are partners in crime!!

Gina's Ugly Christmas Sweater Party

My friend, Gina, hosted an "Ugly Christmas Sweater Party" this past weekend. It was a blast! I found my sweater at the Goodwill for $4.50. Yikes is it ugly or what?? Anyways, we all wore our sweaters and went ice skating in Leawood. Not only did I feel uncoordinated, but I also felt really old and fat. Oh well! It was fun and I actually got around the rink several times without falling. I don't claim to look very graceful while doing it, but I survived. I was so happy to have Chelsea here to hold my hand through the ordeal. Fun times had by all!

Winter is here

We got our first real snow yesterday and the kids were so excited. Keith was working from home (car problems, snow, etc.) and he took the kids out to play. They made a small snowman and did snow angels. Unfortunately the batteries on the camera went out before he could get any of that. Here are some pictures of them in their snow gear.

My little polar bear....
Mason is 8 weeks old today! I can tell he is starting to loose that newborn feel and it's kinda sad, but I do look forward to the giggles and smiles that are starting to make their way. He is such a good baby and last night he slept from 9:30pm to 5:30am. It was fabulous! I must say though that he is the gassiest (is that a word?) baby I've had and it is quite stinky. Hard to believe such a cute, little guy can make such a stink. :) Anyways, we are all loving him despite the aroma.

Today is an exciting day because Keith's sister, Chelsea and her little girl, Avery are coming. Avery is just a few months older than Brittany and they will play great together. It will be fun having them here and I'm looking forward to the time together. I'm sure we will take all kinds of pictures and I'll post them.

Well I must go take the kids to a friend's house for a play date and then get some things ready for tonight's Young Woman's activity.

Mason meets Opa, Grandpop and Nanny....

This weekend has been a fun weekend for us. My dad (Mason's Opa) and Keith's parents (Nanny and Grandpop) came in for Mason's blessing. Here are some pictures to enjoy. I should mention that the gown Mason is wearing was made by Keith's late grandmother and has been worn by all his brothers and sisters and their children. It was great to have our dad's here for this special occasion. I know it meant a lot to Keith to have his Dad in the circle.

Mason says, "No photograph's please."

And it's official...

Mason is 6 weeks today! What a whirlwind these past weeks have been. I look back and think how blessed I am. Everything has gone great and with no major catastrophe's. I am so grateful that my mom was here for his birth and to help me and the kids. I am thankful that Keith was able to take some time off work and be with us. I am thankful that Jared and Brittany absolutely love Mason. I am so glad that Mason has been my best breast feeder and was a pro at 3 weeks. I am thankful for great friends that helped in more ways than I can list. So now we move on to new things. I'm still waiting for him to smile at me and mean it. He's a pretty good sleeper so I can't complain about that, but it will be nice when he sleeps through the night (I'm not expecting that yet.) I have this sling and he loves it. He gets all snuggled up in it and I love it because it allows me to do all sorts of things and still keep him happy. He is in it as I type, just snoring away. He is such a sweet baby and I already love him so very much! I look forward to getting to know his personality more.

Keith is out of town (left Monday night after family photos) and I'm doing pretty good considering. Brittany was up last night saying she was sick. I think she may have had a slight fever and I gave her some Tylenol (which she now hates.) She tells me all she needs is juice and that will make her feel better. Lucky for her she has not had a fever today yet so that is all she gets. Anyways, I ended up with Brittany on my left side and Mason on my right side last night. Somehow I managed to get some sleep. I guess when you're tired you can sleep through anything. Our family photos turned out great by the way and I am very pleased!! If you care to look at them go to: http://www.photoreflect.com/scripts/prsm.dll?eventthumbs?event=01WA4TK2&b=0&t=-1&start=0&password=mason.
One of my favorites is when we are all looking at Mason and he just happened to smile right as the girl took the picture! He is already posing for the camera. :)

I should mention this really cute thing Brittany does to me all that time. She will say, "Mommy" and when I say, "What?" She will say, "I love you." She does this constantly throughout the day and it is the sweetest. Another thing she does that is so cute is she will thank me for her food at each meal. She has such a sweet spirit and I sure do love that little girl!

I've been doing some cleaning today to prepare for my guests this week. I actually managed to get both bathrooms upstairs cleaned this morning. I'm a little shocked that Mason allowed that. I have much more to do so I better get off this computer.
