Send your own ElfYourself eCards

No letter in your christmas card?

Congratulations on making it to our family blog. If you are here for the first time, welcome! If you are not here for the first time, welcome back! Every year I send a letter with our Christmas cards however...if you didn't receive our family letter with our Christmas card, it's because.....I didn't send one! I figured you could get caught up with us through our blog. Merry Christmas!

Old letter found

I was cleaning out an old disc drive and found this letter I wrote to Trevor for his 30th birthday. Made me cry so...must be posted!
30 Reasons Why We Love You

1. You sacrifice everything for us. You sacrifice your time working full time and going to school. You sacrifice your money by never buying anything for yourself and always saying “I don’t need that.”

2. You work hard to provide everything we need and want.

3. You are a great competitor.

4. There is no other person we would rather spend our time with than you.

5. You read books to the girls.

6. You are fun to watch play sports, especially baseball.

7. You can’t keep secrets from us.

8. You play monster.

9. You’re the first person we want to talk to when we are happy, sad, or angry.

10. You use and honor your priesthood

11. You keep us on top of our healthy eating habits and exercising

12. You have a nice physique

13. Even when you don’t want to, you always share a bite of your food.

14. You take us to lunch when we are having a bad day.

15. You love the Lord and show it in your actions.

16. You have good taste in fashion and design

17. You keep us up to date in Hollywood with “things you have heard”

18. We have the nicest house on the block because of your landscaping

19. You love your parents and would never do anything to disappoint them

20. You are proud to be an American and are easily touched by patriotism

21. You listen and follow the prophet and leaders of the church

22. You are faithful in your callings and always get your home teaching done no matter how little extra time you have.

23. You are always trying to be a better person, wanting to set new goals for yourself.

24. You keep yourself well groomed, plucking eyebrows and flossing every night no matter how late or how tired you are.

25. You pray and read your scriptures daily

26. You sing Princess and the Pauper

27. You love to cuddle with your girls and tangle up with me in the morning

28. You don’t mind watching chick flicks…in fact you actually like them

29. There are moments when we are watching the girls dance or do something funny and I can see in your eyes how much you love them

30. You are the best dad and husband in the world.

I haven’t told you this yet but on Easter Sunday, I was singing with the choir in your parent’s ward. We had to sit on the stand for the whole meeting and I was watching you with the girls. At one point in the meeting Sydney got really fussy. You got up and you were holding her, like a baby and walked in the culture hall. You were swinging her back and forth and whispering something to her. She was looking up at you laughing and smiling and you were smiling at her. It’s moments like that, that make me fall in love with you all over again. A different kind of love. A much deeper kind of love, one that I didn’t know was possible when I married you. I know I tell you this every year but if I had to do it over again I would choose you. I would choose us to be together forever. I love you so much and I hope you have a wonderful birthday.

We love you Dad!!!

A Very Merry Christmas

Christmas came a bit early at our house this year. I have waited my whole life to have a beautiful baby grand piano of my very own. I know most people are not lucky enough to ever get one and I feel so blessed that we found this beauty on craiglist for an incredible price. We (I) simply could not pass it up. Today as I sat playing Christmas songs, hearing the music feel my house,
I was overwhelmed and shed a few tears of joy. I absolutely love this piano. I love how it sounds, I love how the keys feel when I play it. I love having my children gather around it to sing songs and I love that I can finally practice my music for primary and choir in my own home. Merry Christmas to me!!!

Santa Run 2009

Some friends and I ran in the Las Vegas Santa Run at the beginning of this month. When you pay your registration, they give you this beautiful (not) Santa suit which includes everything you see here. Some pants were way short, some too tight, some coats huge, others too tight. But each included this silly Santa hat and beard (which was my favorite part!) They give you the Santa suit to try and beat the genius book of world records for the most Santas dressed at one time. You must wear all 5 pieces to qualify.

This was truly the most fun I have had working out in a very long time. We laughed our pants off. It was great!

HO, HO, HO!
There were about 9 thousand Santas who signed up. We were in the front of the pack.
Finish line.
Thanks girls! We will definitely have to do it again next year!

Breakfast in bed birthday morning.

On our way to the movies to see planet 51.

Peace my brothers....what is that? I don't know where they picked that up.

Here it is again...

After the movie, we came home to eat pizza, cupcakes and ice cream. Love you Morg! Can't believe you are already 7 years old.

Ho Ho Ho! It's that time of year!

Every year, we look forward to the Christmas party in the park to set off our holiday season. I was quite emotional as I watched the girls sit on Santa's lap this year. I could see the magic in their eyes as they spoke to him. The girls are at such fun ages for Christmas. I can't wait for Christmas morning to see what Santa will bring.

Sydney Turns 5

Sydney invited her closest friends to party like rock stars! I made (with the help of my very talented friend) backstage passes for all the guests when they arrived.

We played freeze like a rock star...

and musical plates.
I made Syd this guitar cake to go along with the theme. I was overall pretty happy with the way it turned out...it being my first time making a fancy cake. Not too shabby!

Happy Birthday Syd! I can't believe you are already 5 years old. You are growing too fast! I am so happy you are apart of our family and for the sweet little girl you are. I love you so much!

Thanks Christian for taking such beautiful pictures of us. I can't wait to get these up in my house!

Thanksgiving in Newport Beach

We had much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving. The first being the time we spent with our family in Newport Beach. We stayed the full thanksgiving weekend and had a blast! The weather was so beautiful. It was such a relaxing vacation for all. Thanks so much to Grandma and Grandpa for making these family vacations possible. We love you guys!

Can you believe were in swim suits...at the beach....at the end of November???

Missy and Christian got a awesome new camera that took incredible pics of everyone.

Jess and Keith came drove down for thanksgiving day. Trevor and Keith fighting it out in a crazy game of horseshoes.

The girls LOVE playing with their cousins. Morgan especially loves hangin' with her older cousins Taylor and Luke.

Look at that form!

Could Sydney be any more beautiful?
My sister Kim started a cool Thanksgiving tradition where we write on this table cloth the things we are grateful during the year. Then we read them the following year.
Most nights, we put the kids down and play some intense games of High Low. We always play guys against girls. It gets very heated. Good times guys....good times!

opps...forgot these Halloween pics

My cute and very creative friend Andrea, has a adult Halloween party every year. Each year she has a different theme and this year's theme was dark circus...what do you think.

Trevor...aka bearded lady, me and Jess... Siamese twins, and Keith... ugliest women in the world. Eric...Reno 911 and Keri... dead tight rope walker

And our host, the Leavers. Andrea and Scott... Ringmasters. Aren't they awesome!!!

We made a very scandalous music video to Lady Marmalade from Moulin Rouge. Very funny but let's just say it was not exactly PG-13. Luckily our hosts and friends weren't too offended by our off color humor. Don't worry guys...next year will be PG for sure!

Long weekend

Don't you love those marathon weekends? It's fun being so close to Cali and being able to drive down for the weekend. Our cousin Luke got baptized Saturday so decided to head down. But we ending up cramming way too much into one weekend (like we always do) and when we head home this is what happens.
