I LOVE my pink Christmas gift!

I absolutely LOVE my pink Christmas gift from Stacy. It is perfect and something I would have bought for myself. I love the colors and it will get put to good use as my diaper bag in a few months, it is really big inside with tons of storage space, i just love it! I can also use it as a church bag too:)
Thanks again Stacy for being so thoughtful. I can't believe you actually know how to make these? You are amazing!

GOOD MAIL!!!!!

I received "good mail" this week! It's amazing how happy you are to open your mail box and see packages just for you that you weren't expecting. The first one is from Kristi. She sent me a ton of beautiful ribbon. It's almost to pretty to use. The second is from Melinda. She sent me a nice birthday card and a cute little soft baby gap outfit for the new baby (my first new outfit for my little guy) and the third is from Becca. Ultra soft socks (love those), my favorite lip gloss, a cute Christmas ornament, and chocolates! (which were dove chocolates but those didn't make it for the picture:)

Thanks so much you guys for being so thoughtful!!! It made my day!

Family Christmas Picture

We had a blast at the Thompson Family Christmas party on Saturday. We took this picture that night, just a quick snapshot of the family. Are we all actually smiling AND looking at the camera? WOW!

We had a good turn out with all of Todd's cousins and their kids. There was a huge crowd! We had a gift exchange, yummy food, and a visit from Santa. It was a lot of fun!

Today we went to church, my lesson went well (glad that's over) and then went to Todd's parents house for dinner. I need to get the house all picked up..why does the house get so thrashed on Sunday's?!?

Mack goes in for a doctor appointment tomorrow...hopefully the x-ray looks good, he's getting his cast put on.. One more week until Christmas!!! YAH!

Cookie Exchange

Today I headed to my Mom's house for our first annual Christmas Cookie Exchange. We each made a couple different kinds of cookies then swapped. We got to take home 5-6 plates full of different yummy Christmas Cookies to pass out to our friends. My Mom also made us a really good lunch to celebrate my birthday along with my sister Carolee's birthday (which is today). HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAROLEE!!!!! My Mom made homemade chicken croissant sandwiches, pasta salad, and fresh fruit. It was so good. I don't even want to know how much weight I've gained, especially with all the sweets I have been sampling. I haven't been to the gym since Mack broke his arm and I'm really feeling the affects of it. O-well I will have some hard work my way after this baby is born. Why is it so easy to gain weight and so hard to loose it :)

Tonight we don't have much going on so we will go out and deliver our yummy goodie plates. Tomorrow is the Thompson Christmas party at my in-laws house, then Sunday I have to give the combined lesson in Young Woman's (why is that so scary for me)??

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

I just love birthday's!! It's so fun to get spoiled for one whole day:)

I can't believe I'm 32 years old! REALLY 32?!?!?!?!?

Todd got my car detailed for me. It is so NICE and clean. Christina offered to come over and watch the kids so Todd can take me out to dinner tonight. With Mack's arm being so fragile I'm not comfortable leaving him with a teenager baby-sitter so I appreciate Christina doing that for me. My two girlfriends Maryann and Andrea brought lunch over to me yesterday. It was fun visiting with them. Tomorrow I'm getting together with some girlfriends for lunch. Thanks Christina for putting that together. It looks like my one day of getting spoiled is turning into 3 whole days of getting spoiled :)

Check out my Mom's blog, she posted such a nice birthday tribute to me. Check it out by clicking here http://jayne-mccookfamilynews.blogspot.com/

I have the BEST Mom!!!

Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes, I will have a smile on my face all day!!

Mack had surgery

We took mack in one week later to get his splint removed and new cast put on. They took an X ray at his appointment and said that the break was worse? He must have fallen on it and made it worse. The doctor decided to just go ahead and put the cast on and have us come back one week later to see how it healed on it's own. Mack was in so much pain and had been the whole time we thought that he must have kept falling on and that is why he was always in pain but really what should have happened was the surgery the day he broke it. We decided to take him back in a couple of days later (Friday) just to have it looked at. You shouldn't be in pain once the cast is on right? We ended up seeing a new ortho doctor who said that he needed to have surgery to put pins in his arm to straighten and stabilize the bone better. He said that should have been done the day he broke his arm. The break was bad enough and too close to his elbow. So off to get admitted for surgery that very day. It was long....we ended up having to wait until 1:15 am for the surgery to take place. He was finally done at 3:15 am, he had a hard time coming out of anesthesia. He was really groggy, and I'm sure didn't feel good. We got to come home the next day (Saturday) around 5:00 pm, which was great. Hospital stays are just not fun! We even had to share a room UGH! The little boy next to us had Asama and was coughing all night, had a breathing treatment going on the whole time. Todd's parents came and stayed the night with our kids and my Mom came the next day. My Mom can never stay still at my house so ALL the laundry was done, dinner was made and so was yummy pumpkin bread! Just the best!Mack slept MOST of the day yesterday and is doing tons better today.
He goes in to have a cast put on in one week. I can tell he feels so much better having the pins in his arm stabilizing it better (even though you wouldn't think so). I can tell such a difference and know that the surgery was much needed. So on to a speedy recovery!

HAPPY 11th BIRTHDAY TREVOR!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SON TREVOR! I love you! I hope your day is special! Your growing up to be a good young man and I'm so proud of you!

Last year we went out to dinner and a movie just the two of us to celebrate our "December birthday's". I'm looking forward to that again this year :)

I brought Trevor Pizza and root beer for his lunch at school today. It was fun to see all the kids want to "sit" by him for lunch in hopes of a shared slice..I also made some cup cakes to take to scouts.

Tonight is mutual. Ive got my peanut butter balls all ready for the girls to dip them into chocolate. have any of you had those, they truly are the BEST! Wish me luck for tomorrow, when Mack goes in for his cast!!!

Saturday we attended our Ward's Christmas Party. They served ham, cheesey potatoes, green bean casserole, and rolls. After dinner was a nice program followed by a special visit from Santa.

Todd and the two older boys left a little early to go see cousin Brent play one of his football games. If was a fun night.

Friday night we got all the decorations down and decorated the tree. It was so fun to see Kate get so into it and help with all the decorating. She thoroughly loved it.

Today I let Mack sleep in (he doesn't sleep very well at night) then hit the gym followed by a quick trip the the UPS store to mail out my "Pink Christmas" gift. I hit the grocery store and came home to start on my dinners for my monthly dinner swap that I do with 5 other girls. We meet Friday and are also bringing 5 dozen cookies to swap. I also have to make cookies for mutual tomorrow night...so lots of baking and cooking this week :)

Mack gets his cast put on this Wednesday. I hope he wont be in so much pain when the real cast gets put on. He said he wants a "green" cast. Hey at least it will go well with Christmas time!

Broken Bone at our house :(

Last night Mack feel off of our rocker recliner chair. He was sitting on the top of the chair (where your head is) and feel backwards and probably landed on his arm. He broke the larger bone on the top part of the arm, above the elbow. Although it was very painful for him (and me) the Doctors took really good care of him. He has been sleeping all day and I can tell his arm hurts. Poor guy...They have it in a splint and in a week when the swelling goes down he will get a cast. Both my two older boys broke their arms at age two. Crazy huh?!

Today I promised Kate that we could make and frost sugar cookies. Hopefully I will only eat a couple hee hee..She is SO excited to get the decorations up, it's so cute!
Hopefully we can work on that tonight :)

Were Home!

We had such a good time in Arizona! We got to see both sides of my family. We spent Thanksgiving with my Mom's family and we went to a Family reunion on Saturday night with my Dad's side of the family. It was so good to see so many family members that we don't get to see very often. Both my parents grew up in AZ. Most everyone still lives there so there were lots and lots of cousins. It was so fun!

We stayed with my sister Melissa and her family which was really fun. Here is a recap of our trip.

We left Riverside Tuesday afternoon and got to AZ Tuesday night. I remember as a kid how long the trip was it really is such a quick easy trip. Not bad at all...we got there in 5 hours. Tuesday night we just hung out and visited. We went to see my other sister Candice and see her new cute apartment and she cut my two older boys hair.

Wed. we went to the Phoenix zoo. Melissa had free passes so we didn't have to pay. The weather was beautiful! (for some reason, I can't get my photos to download where I want them to).

Thursday was Thanksgiving at the new Chandler park. The food was to die for! Our family is just so big my Aunt decided to have it at the park. I wish I would have taken pictures.

Friday Todd went dirt bike riding in the morning with all the guys and as soon as he got home I was out the door to lunch with all the girls followed by some shopping! We hit this really fun boutique and I ran into Michelle and her daughter Sara. It was so fun! I instantly recognized her and ran over to say hi. It's just the weirdest thing to see someone you have never met but feel like you know them so well. She was so nice and it was so fun meeting her!

Friday night was game night with all the couples. My cousin had everyone over for games. Here is a picture of some of the girl cousins along with the yummy appetizer and dessert table.
Saturday night was the McCook Family reunion. As soon as that was over we hit the road and made it home just after midnight.
I really enjoyed this trip. We are home now and back to the grind. I'm really looking forward to Christmas now!!

I'm ready

Tomorrow we leave for Az and I'm all ready to go! Today has been busy.. all you Mom's know what we do when leaving for a week on vacation. Need i say more...the kids are really excited to see their cousins, they can hardly wait. We are staying with my sister Melissa.

Thanks everyone for your nice comments about my 5 month pregnancy picture. You all know how to make a girl feel good :) especially a pregnant girl haha

Last Thursday was parent teacher conference. Meeting with all 3 teachers was quite tricky but I did it. It is so nice and made me feel so good to hear that they are doing well.

Friday night my Mom came over and helped me with the house (heaven) then we went to Walmart to start on some Christmas shopping. That is always fun.

Saturday night was Christina's birthday party. Jon had a bunch of friends come over for Pizza and games. It was a lot of fun. Because Christina's birthday is the Sunday after Thanksgiving we celebrated it a little early.

Sunday we went to church and then to Todd's parents house for dinner. I left a little early to work on my Pink Christmas present. The time sure snuck up on me and I'm glad to say that I'm pretty much finished! Talk about pressure though, I didn't realize how nervous I would be to make a homemade gift for someone else...especially with the gift being published for all to see. I hope she likes it!!!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Monday!

Here is a 5 month prego shot! I had my real ultra sound done today at my doctor's office. I'm still having a boy :) It was fun to see him again, everything looks good! Afterwards Todd and I went to lunch at BJ'S (my favorite) we had a really nice time together.
Kate and mack were invited to a birthday party on Saturday. They had fun getting their faces painted. They both thought they looked pretty cool :) It amazes me how some people spend SO much money on birthday parties, they also had a huge slide bounce house and tons of other cool things...we always like to get invited to those kind of parties hahaha

new post!

I'm sure your all glad that I'm finally posting again so that you don't have to take another look a our Halloween Happenings pictures hahaha it's gets old seeing old posts I'm sure :)

So on to our weekend recap. Todd was out of town so I got to hang with the kiddies single parent style. Friday night the boys had football practice we hit weinerschintzal :) now I KNOW i spelt that wrong! We then headed home. We all got to bed early because the boys had a football game the next morning and had to be there by 7:00 am. Luckily my brother and his wife Taryn stayed the night. I was able to leave Kate and Mack asleep while I dropped the boys off real quick. They stayed the night because Ryan had a game of golf planned with his friends here in Riverside (he lives in LA) and Taryn had a baby shower to go to locally. I was glad they were here so I wouldn't be alone. Remember, I'm a chicken when it comes to sleeping alone when Todd is gone. It worked out great!

Saturday after the games the kids hung out with Uncle Ryan and then we headed off to see the new Bee movie. My sister Carolee joined us along with her two kids. It was fun, after the movies Carolee came back to the house for pizza and the kids played. Sunday was church and I thoroughly enjoyed the extra hour of sleep. It made 9:00 church great and we actually made it on time :)

After church we headed to Todd's parents house for dinner then came home and got the kids ready for bed. It was so great they actually went to bed an hour earlier! They are still on the old time so hurray! My kids were actually in bed by 9:00. Yes, they normally go to bed at 10:00. I know it's pretty sad but what can I say, it's the truth!! so needless to say I'm loving the new time change! The boys started basketball so they had their first practice on Monday. Todd will be coaching Trevor's team. Football is almost over (can't wait) Ethan's team made it to the play-offs, so just a few more weeks of football and then we are done! I really enjoy basketball. It's so much more low key than football.
Tonight is dress rehearsal for the Roadshow. I will be glad to have it over with. It's one of those things where I have to be there to just be there, but I don't really have a part in anything. My job was to help with costumes, and since we are pretty much done with that I go and sit. I would much rather be home with the family.
Our ward has a really cute script and it's been fun watching the youth take part in it. (but I'm ready for it to be over :)

i loved the 80's

Your 80s Hunk Is
Kirk Cameron

I saw this on Donna's blog and I couldn't resist. I loved the 80's even though I was only in elementary, and middle school mostly. I don't remember that much about the 80's but I think one of the things I loved the most was the music.

Today started with everyone off to school followed by walking with a few friends around the neighborhood. We started this a few weeks ago, we go every Tuesday and Thursday. It's fun to switch it up from going to the gym. After walking I raced and I mean raced to get my shower. It was either pick up the house or shower... I choose shower. I was having my presidency meeting and had to pick which would be the better choice, having a clean house or smelling good :) I chose to smell good...
After my Presidency meeting I ran to the store to pick up some of the basics and the ingredients for the dinner I'm making for my dinner diva's group I'm in. It's this Friday. I'm going to make sour cream enchiladas.
Tonight I have mutual, we have been practicing for the Roadshow which is next week. It's been so nice not to have to think of class activities. Ive enjoyed the break.
Looking forward to the results show tonight on Dancing with the stars! yea!

OH BOY! OH BOY! WERE HAVING A BOY!!!!!

I found out yesterday our great news! I decided to go to the mall and have an ultra sound done. It was so neat to see the baby and see his feet, legs, hands, etc... I love my boys they are so fun and I'm happy about our baby boy#4! news (oh my)!
For Kate's sake, I was secretly hoping for a girl. I had a hunch that it would be a boy though.
We are very excited and feel so blessed that another boy will be joining our family and Kate is very happy about it too.
So Here Here (bring in on) to more cub scouts, football, soccer, baseball, and basketball games, and oh how could I forget..better get started on another mission fund! (hee hee)
I'm stumped on boy names...any suggestions would be great!

the flu, baby shower, RACKS BBQ...

...sums it up!

Friday morning until Saturday morning I had a touch of the flu. All I can say is I'm glad it was only a 24 hour thing! This afternoon I went to a friends baby shower. Those are always fun to attend. I enjoyed visiting with everyone, eating good food, and seeing all the fun little outfits. The boys had their football games this morning. Although it rained all night they still played this morning. The boys both played great (from what I heard..I stayed home with Kate and Mack, It was too cold and rainy to bring them)! Ethan scored another touchdown! Yay! Ethan!! Trevor played well also. Thanks Ryan and Dad for coming to see them play!

We just got back from going out to dinner at this fabulous BBQ place called RACKS. We had to go sign paperwork at our accountants office and the restaurant is right across the street. The smell was too much to pass up! We had all the kids with us. I noticed that every Wed. kids eat free, gotta love that! So after dinner Todd went his way...yes you guessed it a football game with the two older boys and I went my way (home) with the two younger ones. Can you see a pattern happening here??? hahaha It works for us so that's all that matters, right?!?!? :)

Tomorrow is church and then on with he rest of the week. Well, that's my wrap up for today!!

weekend recap

Friday was Todd's birthday. We had a little change in plans. We decided to take the whole family out to dinner to the Red Robin. After that Todd and the two older boys went to the football game :) I decided that it would be too cold to take the little ones. Anyway, it ended up being a fun night for everyone.

Saturday was Todd's nephews 16th birthday. He had a big party here at our house. There was karaoke, swimming, and tons of good food. It was a lot of fun. Everyone was invited so there were little ones, teenagers, and adults. Fun for all ages!! Here are a couple pictures of Todd and Trevor singing on the karaoke (the fun ones in the family:) Trevor had just gotten out of the pool, that explains why he has no shirt on...it was freezing cold too!

The boys had a football game Saturday morning. Kate wanted to wear her Halloween costume. I love the one of Ethan making a touchdown, next week I will have to get some of Trevor.

Sunday we watched Conference which I enjoyed so much. Then we went to my parents house for lunch. My brother was there with his wife and new baby. It was fun being with everyone!!

Happy 35th Todd!

Todd probably won't appreciate me posting pictures of him on my blog but I'm doing it anyway:) HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODD! I love you and I hope you have a great day! I'm sure glad you were born! He shares the same birthday with his Mom Bettie. I think that is neat.
Too bad I don't have more pictures of him...

Tonight we are going to Todd's cousins football game. YEP, you read that right, I asked him what he really wanted to do for his birthday and that was it! He usually takes the boys to the games but for his birthday he said he wants me to go with him. I usually don't enjoy going to the games with a two year old so this time I will get a baby-sitter and it will be just the two of us. It will be fun. Here is one more picture I found of Todd (note to self take more pictures of Todd :)

Blogging slump...

I have been going through a blogger slump lately. I just have not been motivated to post. Maybe it's because I'm pregnant and I haven't been motivated to do anything? Whatever it is I can't wait to be done with it!

I'm waiting for Christina to pick me up, we are headed to the Stake Center for the Woman's broadcast. I'm really looking forward to it (and the dinner before). Food is always better when you don't have to fix it:) I have been home all day (and yesterday) and I'm ready to get out of the house.

The kids are playing in the backyard with some of the neighbor kids. Todd is taking a nap, they were up early this morning for the boys football games.
Tomorrow is church, my clothes are definitely fitting more snug. I'm thicker in the middle but am not "showing". It just looks like I've put on 6 pounds (which i have:)
So my clothes are feeling it. They don't fit like they used to, and it's not fun. I have to remind myself what the end result is. (haha) This is the part that's hard though..... not fitting into your old clothes but your not big enough for maternity clothes.

Girls Weekend update..

Yes! It was all about "the ladies" this weekend. My sister in-law Summer planned everything. All the sisters and cousins headed out for a mini getaway. We all met up at this really great hotel in Dana Point and went to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. Then we went back to our hotel and sat around talking and talking. We all brought one of "our favorite things" to share with everyone. That was really fun! We were in heaven with Sees Candy, chocolate, recipes, homemade Cd's and chocolate chip cookies, and make up! I made my Mom's homemade pumpkin bread. We all slept in, except for the girls in my room, Todd called at 8:00 am to tell me that Kate was sick, I should have turned my cell phone off :) we then got ready and went to lunch on the beach! We spent the rest of the day shopping. We decided to make it an annual event.... It was just a lot of fun! Here is a picture of the "group"

I'm off...

to go on a girls weekend. My sister in-law put it together. It's all my sister in-laws and some of my husbands cousins. We are meeting at Cheesecake Factory tonight then going to a Hotel. In the morning we are eating at an all you can eat buffet, followed my pedicures, shopping, and I'm sure more eating :) We will come home sometime tomorrow late afternoon, so it's a quick little trip. Got to get all of these little mini vacations in before I have a nursing baby:) HA!

Have a great weekend everyone!

new babies are the BEST

Congratulations to my brother Ryan and his wife Taryn! Nathan Ryan McCook (Nate) was welcomed into the world last night. I was able to be at the hospital and see him. It always is such a special experience to see a new baby. The instant love that you feel for these babies is priceless. They are so sweet, and such a gift. It really made me so excited to have a baby! All the sickness that you go through...it's ALL worth it! Taryn had a planned C-section because the doctor's were concerned during an ultra sound that his head was too big. When he was born they said that the cord was wrapped around his neck a couple times, so it was a blessing that they did a c-section. Nate is grand baby #15 for my parents, and my new baby will be #16 :)

Todd and I went to lunch today. It was fun to be able to spend a little time with him. The kids should be getting home from school soon. Today is a low key day, not much going on...i LOVE it!

Saturday

Not much is going on...I feel bad that I don't post very often but I feel like I don't have anything exciting or interesting to say :)

It's always the same old things..(ha ha ha)

tonight we are going to a friend's birthday party. I'm looking forward to that. I'm not looking forward to going to ward correlation tomorrow morning at 7:00am. That's going to be a killer to get up at 6:00am. I'm going for the president because she's out of town.

Today will consist of picking up the house, finishing the laundry, and making my veggie pizza that i will be taking to the party tonight. (see told ya it's the same old stuff) hee hee
Todd took the boys to their game this morning, they had to leave at 6:30am, I wasn't up for getting up early two days in a row :)
They went to the Dodger game last night and got home at 11:30pm. I'm sure they were so tired.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

I'm so HAPPY!

My Mom came over today and helped me with some things around the house. The kind of things that never seem to get done especially when you don't feel good. SO we tackled the master closet, and she finished up all my laundry! WAHOO!! She also brought over her homemade pumpkin bread. Happy times! Now that the laundry is done I will get all the bedding washed.

I'm 11 weeks pregnant today! Almost done with my first trimester!! I have been going to the gym M-Fri. I have to with all the extra eating I have been doing. I feel better when I have food in my stomach. I'm hoping that I don't put on as much weight as I did with the rest, but I say that everytime with all my pregnancies and it never changes, "hopefully" this one will be different:)

Tonight for dinner is Shepherd's Pie. I'm in a dinner diva's group that gets together once a month. We each prepare 6 of the same dinners and then swap 5 of them (keeping one for ourselves) and go home with 5 different meals. Monday night was a really good chicken enchilada casserole. I'm excited to try tonight's meal!

Weekend recap...

Is it already Sunday? Already time for school to start again tomorrow? Time sure does fly! Thanks for every one's comments regarding our news:)

Lets see what did we do Friday night??? Oh yah Todd took the boys (all 3) to a high school football game and Kate and I stayed home. I was feeling pretty sick (yah I can complain to you all now :) Saturday was football games! It was the first for Trevor and Ethan. They play at 8:00 am and 10:00 am. it's nice that they play back to back. It was so fun to see them all geared up. They looked so cute. I went to an hour of Ethan's and an hour of Trevor's. With Mack up and down the bleachers I can only take so much! Saturday evening I went over to a friends house. Since all the guys went to the BYU/UCLA game my friend had a little party of her own. It was fun to get out of my messy house into her clean house. So we hung out for awhile then I went home and picked up a bit. My little YW beehive who is also my neighbor came over and played with Kate and Mack so that I could get stuff done. It was heavenly! So nice!!!
Today was church and now we are getting ready to head over to Todd's parents house for dinner. We haven't been over there in a couple months so it will be nice to see them again.

Baby #5 on Board!

That's right! #5 is on it's way! We are EXCITED and HAPPY that the news is finally out! I'm due April 2ND, I'm 10 weeks tomorrow.

I have been nauseated, and can't wait for week 12-13, that is usually when I start feeling better :)

It's fun to share the news with all of you!!!

Also, quick weekend recap. Sunday we were able to attend Todd's cousin's baby blessing. It was fun to see family that we hadn't seen in awhile. Monday was our Labor Day party. It was a lot of fun! HOT but fun. We invited a few families from our ward and had a good time!
Tonight is mutual and our class is in charge of the combined activity. Lots going on...the kids are doing well in school and loving it! (so am I)
I better get them off to football practice!

Happy 5th Birthday Kate!

Tomorrow is Kate's actual birthday but since she had her party today I thought I would post pictures.

Her party was so much fun! The girls were so good. Here is a breakdown of what they did. First they colored these wooden dolls that I found at Joann's for .25 cents. Then they made necklaces, opened presents, and ate lunch. I hired a teenage girl who is in dance to come over and teach the girls a dance routine. It was the cutest! After that all the parents came to pick up the kids and the girls performed their new routine they learned. We ran out of time and missed the cake and ice cream so now I have this HUGE Coscto cake! I'm thinking about busting it out at our Labor day party. Dessert is done :)
Here are a few more pictures...
Kate painting her wooden doll

Kate and all her girlfriends

Kate with her "favorite" gifts (her glasses, handmade scarf, and lip gloss cell phone)

I am so thankful to have this sweet little girl in my life. She has been such a joy and has brought so much happiness to me. It's hard to believe that she is already 5 years old. I wish time would slow down. I feel so blessed to have her as my daughter.
Happy Birthday Kate LaRee!!!

Is it HOT enough for ya???

It is 108 degrees here in Riverside! yesterday I decided to go to Disneyland after I picked Kate up from school. Our passes expire today and I wanted to go one last time. It was so dang HOT! I don't know what I was thinking but I even wore jeans?!?!?
We had such a good time! It was not even crowded and we were able to go on so many rides. My sister Carolee and her family were there so we met up with them. Kate and Brooklyn were so cute, they held hands the whole time. It was cute to see them walking around together.

Today I hit Costco to pick up Kate's birthday cake. Every time we go there she likes to look at the cakes and tells me which one she's going to choose when it's her birthday. Even though it's much easier and cheaper to make cupcakes, I had to let her pick out her birthday cake. Her party is tomorrow and she is so excited, she invited all the little girls in her church class, so there will be 9 little girls here altogether. The girls are going to make necklaces and I have a 16 year old girl coming over to teach them a dance routine. I will be sure to post pictures. It should be fun!

First day of school!

I'm happy to report that today was a success! The kids went to bed on time last night, we woke up early. The kids were so excited to start school! I walked Kate in to the kindergarten section and since we were early we decided to go check and see if the boys made it to their classes OK. Sure enough they had found all their friends and were on the play ground. Kate was really excited and it wasn't hard for either of us to say good bye to each other. I don't know if it's because she is my 3rd to start school or if it's because of Kate's personality. She's very outgoing and independent.

Mack and I had a fun time spending time together just the two of us. We met some friends for lunch to celebrate "back to school" it was a lot of fun. I decided to get the stroller out and walk to school to pick Kate up. Big mistake! It was so hot and a lot longer walk than I thought. I was dripping in sweat when I got home, plus I wore my .99 cent old navy flip flops, not the best shoe support:). The boys will be home soon and I can't wait to hear all about their day. Although, they don't ever say much, I can never get much info out of them:) Kate was happy to report that she found a friend. All and all it's been a great day!

My NEW floral jacket!!!

I received this lovely floral jacket today from a sweet older sister in the ward. She drove to my house and was so excited to give it to me. She said that it didn't fit her anymore and wanted to find someone to give it to. She thought of me because she said my coloring would look so good with the floral "Autumn color pallet" of the jacket. I tried it on and it fit perfectly! You should have seen the smile on this sister's face. PRICELESS!

So the question is do I wear it to church to make her day? I don't know how I can't now!!! Anyway I just wanted to share this with you all, I thought it was so great!

Our dog is still gone! The kids really haven't said much about it so at this point I think our dog days are over yippee! I just hope he found a good home, one that he can't escape from.

just another day...

Tonight is the Relief Society pool party at my house. I'm just trying to get the house picked up and ready. I just got back from the grocery store for much needed necessities! I bought a fresh loaf of french bread and came home and ate it with real butter! You can't beat that! To me nothing is better than bread and butter:) It was so worth it!!

We went to the beach yesterday. It was so hot! The kids had a good time. It was the last beach day for the summer. I can't believe how fast summer has gone by. The kids start school on Monday and I couldn't be happier! I'm tired of entertaining and breaking up fights! It's really just been the past couple weeks that have been extra hard. I think the kids are ready too.

Our dog ran away yet again! This time he hasn't returned so I'm getting a little nervous...he usually comes back. We shall see. I know this is really mean but if he doesn't come back I won't be that disappointed, I know so mean!

for Melissa...

My sister Melissa called to remind me to post a picture of my new armoir...

I love it! When ever I get something new it motivates me to clean!

Todd went on a fishing trip, he left Wed. the first night was fine and I slept good. Last night was a different story and I was up all night. I am the biggest baby when it comes to staying home alone. I thought I could do it but I guess not. Tonight I'm staying at my sister's house and tomorrow night I'm heading to my parents house! hahaha

I'm excited for Saturday night, I'm going to the temple with my brother Ryan, his wife Taryn and a couple of their friends. I will be the only one without a spouse. Afterwards we will go out to eat. That reminds me I need to find a sitter...
Sunday I'm going to my parents ward then my Mom is making a yummy birthday dinner for Ryan after church. Good food, good times! Todd comes home Sunday.

Christina is taking our dog for us this weekend since I will be gone. Thanks Christina!
Today I need to finish laundry, go to the grocery store, and wash the car...off to work!

Sunday evening...

Kate and I just got back from a walk. I love the weather in the evenings! Mack went down for a nap today at 3:30 and is still sleeping! I think he is coming down with something, he won't wake up so I think he must need the sleep.

Todd and I had a fabulous time on our date! Ruth's Chris Steakhouse was not a disappointment! The Heavenly bed at the Westine is so comfortable, no wonder it's called "Heavenly Bed" I slept like a baby! Carolee had an interesting time here at the house. She had no problems with the kids the only trouble was the dog. I will spare you all the details! (I'm sure you can guess)
Thanks again Carolee!!

This Saturday I was able to go to my SIL Taryn's baby shower. It was so much fun and she got a lot of really cute things! It was a brunch, the food was so good. On my way home I stopped by a furniture store in Chino. I found an armoire, I have been looking for one for some time now and could never find one that was cheap enough but also good quality. I went ahead and bought it. I can't wait for it to get here! It's for my bedroom, I will post pictures.

Not much else going on, the week isn't too busy. Our stake is having family week so there will be no mutual on Tuesday night. The only thing we really have giong on is the boys football practice. They love it! It's every night for two hours. The younger two love it because they get to play at the park. It gets a little boring for me though, I should do what Jenny does and bring the stroller and get some walking in.
Well, that's it for now...

Where have I been???

It's been busy over here at the Thompson's! Sorry I haven't been the best at updating my blog. Things are good over here. As far as the dog is going...well, I'm not sure how I feel about having a new member of the family. He escaped out of our backyard on Sunday. We found him Sunday afternoon. Our neighbor had found him. He likes to sneak out of the yard so we have to keep him on a leash or in the garage. It's such a pain! (He fits right through our rod iron gate). It would be so much easier to just be able to let him out in the yard. OK, enough of the dog but just for the record, I'm not feeling it:)

We went to the beach yesterday. It was really fun. Count down until school starts so not many more beach days. The kids just love it. My sister Joy is coming over today with her kids, it will be nice to have her over to visit with. Todd and I are going on an over night date tomorrow. My sister Carolee is going to watch the kids for us. I'm so glad that she is willing to do this. I'm happy because I can tell her "no pool while we are gone". Carolee feels the same way about the pool as I do so I will feel rest assured that everyone will be safe:) So back to the date, are plan is to go to Ruth Cris Steakhouse (the best) for dinner then to the Westin Hotel in Palm Springs. The rates are cheap in the summer since it's so dang hot. It's been such a busy summer with so much going on it will be nice to get a way, even if it's for one night! I'm looking forward to sleeping in!!!
Carolee's husband has to work so she will be here with her two kids and all 4 of mine. Isn't she the best!!!! She is the WOMAN!

It's official!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have a new member to our family! Introducing... TOMMY

We adopted him this afternoon from the Humane Society. I'm not sure how I feel about this whole thing but the kids are sure excited! I have never had a dog or grown up with any animal for that matter. This is going to be a whole new experience for me. The dog seems to be really well behaved. It seems as if it had been a house dog with a previous owner. Very well mannered. I of course want it to stay outside. When Todd gets home from work today he's going to give it a bath. So what do you all think of the name?? That is the name the the humane society gave him but we of course may change it. Todd's brother's name is Tommy, I don't know how he would feel if he had the same name as our dog??? Any suggestions???

Stake Pioneer Day

Our Stake had there annual Pioneer day on Saturday. We were able to go as a family and had a really fun time. They served hot dogs and hamburgers (it's always about the food for me:). By the time I got everyone a plate I didn't feel like standing in line again for myself so we hit Del taco on the way home and I got my typical Del classic chicken burrito that i LOVE, it's the BEST!

Pioneer day was fun, they had a band playing, there were different booths set up for the kids which included face painting, cake walk, fishing for candy, sack race, and balloon toss. There was also a game of softball and volleyball going on. (which Todd and the boys were at the whole time). I got to visit with friends and see people from the stake that I normally don't get to visit with.

Of course I brought my camera so here are a few pictures of the night...
BFF's Kate and Anna!
