Pretending

So Carson says to me, "If you were a boy and if you liked football, would you want to play offense or defense?"  I told him I don't know because it's too much to pretend.  "Like pretending I like mermaids and stuff?"  Exactly!

Library Slumber Party

Every summer the library has fun activities for kids.  Tonight was the best, though.  It was a teddy bear slumber party!  The kids could bring a teddy bear (or any stuffed animal) and leave it overnight for a  sleepover.  The librarians are going to take pictures of the fun things the toys do tonight and we can pick them up in the morning.  Parker thought his pet worm, Carson, should have this wonderful opportunity.  Yes, the worm is named after his brother.  Parker says that poor Carson is blind and needs glasses.  I'm not sure how to find glasses for a stuffed worm.  Anyway, we are excited to see what Carson the worm does for fun with all his new friends!

Warning

Tonight Parker was playing with his toy pirates.  One guy was hanging precariously off the edge of the kitchen table, and Parker looked at me and said, "Mom, don't try this at home!"

Christmas

We had a nice, white Christmas with plenty of relaxation and fun.  Here is Emily's Christmas dress.  The back view...

And the front...with the dog as a bonus!

My adorable Christmas kids

For my birthday, I requested to go to my favorite craft store.  None of the boys were very excited about that, of course, so I took Emily and the rest of them went next door to the sporting goods store.  Parker is so tiny in that huge chair!

Nap time

Andy lay down with Parker so he would take a much-needed nap today.  Naturally, they both fell asleep.

I think Parker got the short end of the deal.

My Favorite Job

The boys were all playing downstairs when Carson came up and announced, "Parker needs help wiping his bum!"  I invited Carson to go ahead and take care of that.  Of course, his response was utter horror:  "No!  You like it better than I do!"  I said, "You think I wipe bums because I like to??"
