I am so excited. I am the most excited Styx because it is my first contest check in. 

Here is the updated list of the guess. Styxy had made a mistake, (sorry Walter, sorry!) but he fixed it. Our first guess won't be until April 7. Will we still have snow?

See we still have snow. A lot of snow. We are supposed to get a lot of rain. Lady has booked to the tire changes so she thinks more snow will come soon.

your pal Styxy who is liking sometimes the window gets open a little

 It has been 163 days since my capture. This week was a lot like the others, minus being confined to my cell with Tigris and Styx, as Styx mentioned on Monday.  I didn't want to be in my room after this incident for a day or so, but I got over it and got back to routine.

I have only not come up for breakfast one morning since I started this routine a couple of weeks ago. Somedays Lady Warden can put my food near Styxy and Grumpy Gris, and somedays, I am a little jumpier and this is too close.  I am still very jumpy when I am out of my cell. Man Warden calls me "scoot scoot" because I run between places.

Lady Warden says I am not making any friends with Grumpy Gris by eating her food (which is the same as mine, but has soft food that I won't eat if the people put it on my dish).

 

 Lady has accused me of things and she has no proof it was me.

First, someone peed on the bed in Lanie's room. This was before the lock in day.  It is very unlikely this was Man or Lady, but that does leave 3 other beings who may be guilty. Just because Lady has caught me peeing on things in the past (especially since Lanie showed up), doesn't mean this was me. Lady has put a litter box back in Lanie's room for now. 

Also, Lady noticed these marks in her dining room table. Just because I love to sleep up there (as does Styx) and Lady has not seen Lanie on the table, does not mean they are mine. Who is to say a fisher or wolverine didn't break in? There have been a lot of fisher sightings around this spring, maybe one came for dinner. 

Lady can continue to blame me. She has no proof, and I don't really care if she is mad or not. I will continue to do what I want to, when I want to. 

Tigris - Queen of the House

We had a very exciting and scary week last week. Very exciting, very expensive, scary for cats day. 

Lady and Man let 2 strangers come into the house and do work. While the strangers were in the house, we had to all be in Lanie's room so we were out of the way.

We did not like being locked in the room together. We did not fight or anything, but we were very mad at the Man (who was home when the banging was happen) did this. When we had to be locked in for a bit the second day, Lanie was smart, she hid. Man found her in Lady's office so just closed her in there. 

All the banging and 2 guys in and out was because Lady and Man had a heat pump installed. I didn't know what a heat pump was, so I asked Lady and she said it was a HVAC system that is energy efficient and heats and cools the house. Lady said they got it for the cooling feature. See, we have electric baseboard heat, like most people in Quebec. We don't have a furnace and we don't have ducts, so to get the house a/c this was the best way.  We will all have a/c this summer. This is very, very exciting. Lady has never lived with all house a/c. Man is less excited because this was expensive. However, they will be getting rebates and should save money on electricity.

While it is still too cold to try the a/c (it was -20C/-4F on Friday), we have noticed it makes the house much warmer. Gris and I think we may really, really love heat pump, even if we were trapped for a day.

It is the most exciting day of the month. It is both Aunty-Yam's FFF and Rosy and Sunny's Nature Friday and I am so, so excited. 

Because no one picked this week to guess about our snow (and don't worry, we have a lot, too much Lady says), I will get back to my contest next week. Contest hosting is fun, but it is hard. Styxy's aren't sure the love hard work. Stay tuned.

It has been gone and that is not much fun.

 It has been 156 days since my capture.  While I continue to make progress, the tree in my cell remains my safe space. It is where I retreat too. I have heard rumours they may try it in a different spot to see if I feel safe on it in a more open spot. 

Lady Warden has noticed my coat is lightening a bit too.  I hate to admit it, but I sometimes like pets on my tree.

Last log I reported I had started coming upstairs for breakfast. This has happened every morning since. Everyday I will come a little closer while I wait for the Warden (usually Lady Warden as she is the early bird) to feed me. She feeds me first and has been putting my food down and away from the other cats, as Gris still doesn't love me and hisses a lot. I probably don't help the matter by always stealing her treats during treat time. Lady Warden said she may try feeding me closer this week to see, as I have started waiting at the feeding mat. I have not come up from the cell for dinner yet, so still get my Uber Eats delivery.
