Nolan's Baptism

Wes and I made the trip to Victoria this weekend for Nolan's baptism. On Saturday morning, Mom, Kassie, and Karli dropped by the Kubesch house to say hi to Cameron and get a peek at Nolan before they go back to California. Nolan was so good the entire weekend - I hardly heard him cry! Karli was excited to see such a small baby. She was very gentle with him and said she would like a little brother or sister too! Below is a picture of Karli posing with Nolan.

A picture of Nolan, Cameron, and me before Nolan's baptism. Not sure why I'm hunched over??? The boys were certainly more photogenic than me!

The baptism was very nice, and as always, the weekend went by too fast! We enjoyed visiting with all of our family and friends at the baptismal celebration that was held at Fossatti's in Victoria.

Wes and I will be flying to California in two weeks to visit the Waida's and celebrate Cameron's birthday. We are looking forward to the visit!

High School Reunion and The John Deere Darlings

Wes and I went to Cuero this last weekend for our 10-year high school reunion. We were both class officers so we were involved in the planning. Our largest duties for the weekend included the preparation of the fajitas, rice, and beans. Thanks to my parents for their help with the food! The evening was nice and we both enjoyed visiting with classmates we had not seen in quite some time - some 10 years! Wes really enjoyed himself and probably doesn't remember the last half of the night. I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with the drinks consumed during the golf tournament that morning, then during the afternoon while classmates dropped by my parents house to hang out, and certainly had nothing to do with the margaritas and kegs provided at the reunion. I would have loved to have had one of those margaritas! Oh well, Wes can just be the designated driver for our next class reunion :)

I did enjoy playing with Karli and Abby on Saturday. Watch out for these girls if you ever see them on the road! They have not yet mastered the art of watching where they are driving!

Abby and Karli are shown here with their new friend Emma. Emma's parents were in town for our class reunion and she came by to play with some girls her own age. The afternoon became more eventful for Karli and Abby, as Emma returned with her parents and two more girls their age dropped by to play. I don't think we've ever had a swing/gym set full of 3-year old girls at the Buenger household!

We even got to spend a few minutes with Nolan and Cameron at the Kubesch's house on Sunday morning. They arrived Saturday evening and will be spending the week in Victoria in preparation for Nolan's baptism on Saturday. We look forward to seeing them again this next weekend! Nolan sure has grown since we last saw him when he was just a few days old. Hopefully, I will get a picture this next weekend that I can post.

Also, congratulations to Christie and Greg on the new addition to their family! Cameron Hovas was born on September 11th. I've only seen a picture so far and he is absolutely adorable! I can't wait to see him in person!

Furniture Update

Our baby furniture has arrived! Wes surprised me on Friday by picking up the furniture and having it all put together by the time I got home from work. The double dresser basically came in one piece and somehow he managed to get it upstairs and into the nursery all by himself. I do wish I could have been a fly on the wall watching him put the crib together. Wes was in such a hurry to get in finished before I made it home, that he said he had to put it together and take it apart several times before he got it right. It was very sweet of him to have it all ready as a surprise for me! I've attached pictures so you can see the furniture. It looks a little funny because the rest of the room is still empty and I do not yet have the bedding. I'm working on the decorations, but that will be interesting as everyone knows I am not a decorator! As least decorating a nursery is a lot easier than decorating the rest of the house. I wish I could make decisions that fast for the other rooms!

Football season and the 22 week doctor update

Wes and I went to the doctor last Friday for another check-up. I reached the 22 week mark last Thursday. Another ultrasound was done at the hospital, however, the only really good pictures we received were of his feet and another picture illustrating he is definitely a boy! The report from the doctor was positive and everything is progressing in a normal fashion. The baby was big enough this time to categorize him for size - he is in the 60th percentile, so slightly larger than average. He also weighed approximately 1 lb 5 oz. There was nothing out of the ordinary to report so that was definitely good news! Our next appointment in a month will be a lengthy one - approximately one hour. I will be tested for gestational diabetes, and the doctor will go over the delivery and answer any questions we might have. Wes is already worried about passing out at the first sight of blood. Although most people do not look forward to going to birthing classes, he thinks he will need to see some videos to prep him for what is going to happen.

Another illustration of the growing waistline. Maternity clothes are now a must, other than baggy t-shirts.

Football season kicked off this last weekend! Way to go Aggies! We attended the Rice game on Saturday with Wes' parents and the Andersons. Our baby received a few high fives from Wes as things were looking very positive in the second quarter for Rice, however, time ran out with the Owls behind by one point. It was a very positive showing for Rice though, and certainly gives everyone something to look forward to for the rest of the season. By the way, our little one has received his first Aggie attire thanks to the Nash family! It is the most adorable little white cap with an A&M logo. If we are lucky, A&M will still be playing after his arrival and he will be able to sport it while rooting for the Aggies on tv!
