Pictures of Conner and Caroline

Granny Buenger and I took Conner and Caroline to the Picture People last week to get some pictures of Caroline and Conner and Caroline together. The pictures of the two kids together did not work out so well, as Conner is not very gentle just yet. However, here are the pictures of Caroline.

Here is Caroline's first picture taken at the hospital. They must be good at this because they got her with her eyes open.

Since the pictures of Conner and Caroline together did not work out, we took a few of just Conner while we were there. This is never a problem, as he is such a performer for the camera.

More Pictures

One of Conner's favorite perches is the window sill. Here he is playing on his computer.

Allison and Luke came to get their first peek at Caroline. Silly Momma forgot to get a picture of Luke and Allison with Caroline, but here are Conner and Luke in the ball pit. Hopefully we will see them again soon to get a picture with Caroline.

Conner got into the new package of toilet paper sitting in the hallway. At first it was cute because he took the rolls out and stacked them up. Then it was not so cute when he decided to destroy a roll.

More Visitors

April and Tracey came to see Caroline and Conner this weekend. Don't they look like such naturals!

Kassie's Shower

Caroline and I made a quick trip to Cuero for Kassie's shower. Caroline did not make the family picture, but she was very well behaved and slept the entire time.

Silly Boy!

Conner is always trying to fit in and crawl through the smallest spaces. Here he is crawling underneath the rocking horse.

Caroline: 2-week Check-up

Caroline had her 2-week check-up on Friday. The doctor said she is doing great and growing like a champ. She weighed 7 lbs 4 oz and was 20 inches long. The doctor was impressed she was already lifting her head up, but she was actually doing this at the hospital - strong girl! Check out the post of Conner from December 30, 2006 for a comparison shot of the two sleeping angels in similar positions. I don't think they look exactly alike, but I think you can tell they are brother and sister.

Daddy's Garden

Helping Daddy dig in the garden.

Sometimes it's just easier to dig with your hands.

Can I pick the broccoli?

Caroline's 1-week Update

Caroline is now one week old. So far she has been a good eater and sleeper. We are keeping our fingers crossed!

Conner's 14 month update

I am now 14 months old. I think I am such a big boy and will put on a show for an audience. I attempt to say several words, but only mommy and daddy can understand. I can point now, so I point at everything that I want, even lots of things I don't really need. In relation to the pointing, everything on mommy and daddy's plate is better than the exact same thing on my plate.
Daddy took me to Uncle Bill and Aunt Lillian's place this last weekend, so he could gather up all of his deer hunting equipment.
We had a DQ picnic on the truck bed.

I also went fishing for the first time. We actually caught a fish on this plastic pole, however, the reel was not strong enough to pull in the little fish.

Okay, I waited patiently enough. I'm ready to do something else.

I did some digging in the sand at the river.

I was very proud of my digging tools.

Before we left, I made sand angels on my belly!

Thank You!

Thank you to Allison, Matt and Mimi for taking care of me while my little sister made her arrival into this world! Mom and Dad owe you big time! (Mom stole this picture from Luke's blog.)

Caroline Grace Kubesch Has Arrived!

Caroline Grace Kubesch arrived at 10:51 am on January 4, 2008. Although she was 3 1/2 weeks early, she weighed in at a healthy 6 lbs 9.8 oz. She is a very healthy baby and absolutely perfect!

I started to feel a little funny when I got home from work on Thursday, but was unsure if it was the cold I had that had lingered forever, or if I was having contractions. Given our previous experience with Conner, we decided to play it safe, call the doctor, and head in to the hospital to get checked out. They hooked me up to the machines and said I was having contractions 6 - 7 minutes apart, however, I was no further dilated than I had been earlier that morning at my doctor appointment. The doctor on call sent me home and told me to call again when my contractions were 3 - 5 minutes apart. By the time we left the hospital I was actually feeling the contractions and knew what they were. We got home at midnight and really did not sleep at all, as the contractions got stronger and closer together. I called again at 4:00 am when the contractions were about 4 minutes apart. She told me to wait until the contractions took my breath away. I called again a little later and said I was in pain. We arrived at the hospital at about 5:30 am and by 6:30 am I was getting my epidural. What an awesome experience! The anesthesiologist was not even finished and my toes were already tingling. I had a very real appreciation for this procedure after having Conner all natural because he arrived so fast! I have to say that after I received the epidural, labor was very easy and they were actually trying to hold me off as much as possible because my doctor was in a surgery. The doctor arrived at about 10:20 am and after only a few pushes Caroline made her arrival. It was such a different experience than that we had with Conner - so relaxed! Below are some pictures of Caroline and her visitors.

Kindal came to visit Caroline and see what it was all about, as she will be at Women's Hospital in the near future. We can't wait for Morgan's arrival!

Aunt Kelli and Abby also came to see Caroline.

Caroline's arrival worked perfectly into Aunt Kassie's schedule, as she was already in Houston for her wedding dress fitting.
