We left last Thursday for our annual lake trip with my family. We spent several days having lots of fun boating, fishing, playing in the water and spending time with family. We changed it up a little this year and when to Horseshoe Bay instead of Canyon Lake and everyone really enjoyed the trip. Below are pictures of the fun:

Pictures at the Picture People
I was a little behind on Catherine's 18-month pictures, so I took the kids to the Picture People last week to have their pictures taken. While I was taking Catherine, I decided to have all of their pictures taken and managed to find somewhat coordinating outfits in their closets. It was very last minute and I called the morning of the pictures to get the appointment. Catherine does not love to have her picture taken by other people like Conner and Caroline did. Those two would perform for a camera. Catherine does however like for me to take her picture and will say "cheese" when she sees I have a camera in my hand. With a meltdown at our real appointment time, we took a little walk around the mall to distract her. It worked and with about a 3 minute window, we managed to get some decent pictures with Catherine. Below are my favorites.
Catherine's 18 month checkup
In early June, I took Catherine for her 18-month checkup. Consistent with Conner and Caroline, she is growing like a weed. Stats are: weight - 26 lbs (75%), height - 33 1/4 inches (90%), and head 18 3/4 inches (80%). Catherine is talking like crazy and tries to repeat most things that we say. She can now say Conner, Caroline, Granny, Nene and Grandpa, and is also putting some words together. She can count to five when prompted (filling in some numbers up to ten when counting) and can fill in some letters of the alphabet when singing the song. She has also been using the potty since about 14 months, but is not really close to being potty trained. She does have some dry diapers, will go to the potty when you set her on it, and sometime tells us when she needs to go. We are not pushing it, but it sure would be nice if she was potty trained before the next baby arrived...
