Every Christmas we get together with MawMaw's side of the family for supper... The whole gang made it... unfortunately I cut my own self out of the picture...
This was hilarious trying to get these kids to pose for a decent picture with MawMaw Berry. Surprisingly, Ivey did very well. The look that you see was permanently stuck on her face for almost the entire ordeal...
Loving her "KayKay"
& "Tarson"
MawMaw and her grandkids... why do I always have to stand by my brothers???? Notice the sneaky grins on their faces????
Opening presents...
This baby was one tired puppy by 8 o'clock Christmas night... She fell asleep in her Daddy's arm (he didn't love that a bit =)). In fact, Garrett and Ivey didn't make it to the end of the Berry gathering. They went on to bed and after all was clean (per Brenda Putman's requirements) we settled in to open our immediate family presents.
Kaylan and Carson have grown so much.. It seems like yesterday that they were the ones falling asleep early and running around all crazy! They are still a little crazy =) but just not little anymore!
We believe MawMaw got some swimming trunks that were a little too big... but a lot of fun!
Deep conversation...=)
Umm.. Kaylan... we are having Christmas!
The next morning when the kids were fresh (not necessarily the parents) we had a wonderful day after breakfast with country ham, chocolate gravy, white gravy, biscuits, breakfast pizza, homemade strawberry jam, all done Brenda Putman style! Yumm!!! Then we settled in for more presents for the little ones...
So excited about her baby doll!
The bag was huge and filled to the brim... Ivey had to crawl in to get all her gifts!
Stockings were just as bad. I believe we could have put her inside the stocking and still not have seen her!
Ivey was a little protective of her baby doll... so leave it to Uncle Stephen and Uncle Brent to steal it away... I guess the aggravating gene doesn't disappear with age.
Ivey telling Stephen what she thought...
Feeding her baby...
Garrett excitedly unwrapping his new Sand Table!!!!
How sweet... both quietly amused by Ivey's new "pad" from Santa...
Told you those bags were big!!!!
A highlight for the kiddos were MawMaw's dancing Mr. & Mrs. Claus... they danced forever with the music. Let me restate that... Ivey danced and made Garrett join along like it or not. =) I will try to post that video later - hilarious!
Overall, the Christmas festivities were fast and furious but very memorable all at the same time. To think God sent His son to Earth for us is amazing... especially when we didn't or don't deserve that kind of mercy or grace! Looking at my little one... I know that had to be heart wrenching especially knowing what would happen throughout His lifetime. However, during this season we reflect back on that display of mercy and grace, as Christ was born to save us all! We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and remember the true reason for celebration throughout the entire year!
