Halloween Week 2013

The jack-o-lantern has become a tradition now that this little girl is old enough to enjoy.  Ivey was in an especially good mood for the carving of our pumpkin which made it even more fun!  Love this kid!!!

Halloween day is all about the events at Mrs. Bobbie's.  With a hayride and party, the kiddos have a fun day to look forward to... Ivey had to help prepare the treats for the day.  She made everyone at daycare a bag with their name and added treats including "pumpkin poop."  Dorothy reappeared for Halloween day but just a little less "poofed." =)

Fall Festival 2013

Our church had the fall festival and Trunk or Treat the weekend before Halloween.  Ivey was so excited to go and couldn't wait to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.  This summer she fell in love with the movie and has been dead set on her costume for months.  However, she also had ideas for Momma and Daddy, too.  Enter the Tin Man and Scarecrow.

I thought she turned out more adorable than usual.  MawMaw crafted the dress (all in one afternoon) and the music teacher at my school created Ivey the perfect tutu to complete the outfit!

The festival was great fun, as usual.  Big thanks to Ms. Kim for always pulling off a great event for the kiddos!

The ending to a great night... with a bag full of goodies!

Pumpkin Patch

I love fall time - once I get over the shock of no more flip-flops and capris.  Ivey Ann had a blast picking out the perfect pumpkin to add to our door display.
Oh... the many faces of Ivey!  This is what memories are made of!!!!

Cousin Time!

The beginning of October brought a weekend looked forward to every year.  It has become somewhat of a tradition to take in the yard sales around Meriwether State Park in TN while the kiddos spend some valuable cousin time.  This year Garrett and Ivey were precious.  Both of them love each other and so far have gotten along very well.  These are just a few clips of their exciting weekend!

We ended the weekend with a trip to the pumpkin patch... only missing Cara - I am sure she will have herself in the middle of it all next year, though!

Ending Summer

With the warm weather at the beginning of October, we were able to squeeze one last play time at the playground.  My little monkeys had a blast!

Pinterest Alert!

If you are like me, you are addicted to Pinterest... problem is I don't have time to do all the neat ideas I find!

However, when I lucked up on this lamp (fellow teacher leaving and sold all her stuff), I decided to try a little Pinterest love on it!

I love how it turned out!  It looks perfect in my classroom!

School is in session!

By this point we are back in full swing with school and normal routine...

The room doesn't look this neat now because lots of learning is going on, but when I walked out on Friday night before school began, it was a showcase of a lot of prep and ready for the kiddos...

Don't you love my new shelves????  Courtesy of my husband!

My new "wreath" above my sink...

Data board ready for new student achievement!

Quotes added to the door for encouragement (and to cover up the wax spilled on my door when the floors were cleaned).

It will be May before I know it and this will all begin again!

Colossal Coaster World

We began summer with VBS and we ended summer with VBS.  In August, our church held a Colossal Coaster World VBS, and we had great fun!  Ivey loved going every night and learning about Paul.  Kyle and I had the opportunity of working with the teenagers!

The teens worked hard on helping us repaint and fix up our classroom.  Don't you love the chalkboard wall?????

Okay... Pinterest alert!  Found this little table at a yard sale and we cleaned it up...

See the table... new coat of paint and chalkboard paint to make chevron pattern = rustic looking table with a modern twist!

The blue thing hanging from the ceiling is supposed to be a roller coaster... use your imagination!

Loved this group of kids...  Twister!!!!!

More fun and games...

Obstacle course...

Ivey had this smile on her face almost constantly!
