Christmas Tree

It's that time of year again!  We headed up to our favorite tree farm to cut our tree.  We love this place because the kids can sit on Santa's lap and visit his reindeer at the barn.  The light dusting of snow on the ground made it magical until the cold got to everyone.  After cutting down the tree, we headed inside to warm by the woodstove and drink some cocoa.

Santa promised to bring some goodies.  Gabriella wants jewelry, Hyrum wants a remote control car, and LaurieAnn wants to get away from the weirdo with the beard.

The kids enjoyed feeding the goats and ponies, and telling the reindeer not to forget where we live.  Although LaurieAnn hated the animals because they all attacked her for the food.  She was terrified.

It was really cold, so we headed home to decorate the tree.

Office Party

Doug's company treated us to a fabulous night out on Saturday. We were bussed to Silverton, Oregon and doted on by the owners of a local winery. It was built like a French Chateau and seriously-words cannot do this place justice. I felt like I was in another world. The view from the house is spectacular and we enjoyed appetizers overlooking vineyards with the sunsetting and a pianist playing a baby grand piano in the corner.

There was a private chef preparing us dinner and he introduced himself and described every course before we ate. The kitchen itself was phenomenal complete with a prep kitchen and outdoor Brick Oven!

Dinner was elegant, the company was enjoyable and overall we had a blast.

Pictures don't even do this place justice, but here are some in case you want to see them.

This isn't us, but I really want to be one of those kids with an umbrella. This was so much fun!

Kiddos at temple square

Doug with his brothers and cousins celebrating his father.

We had the chance to go to Utah last month. Despite the circumstances, the kids were able to see temple square for the first time since they were tiny and visit family and friends in St. George.

High Five!

Gabriella's birthday has been a highlight of this month! Five years old is so big and we had a blast celebrating with her.

One of her gifts was a kids camera. Now she'll quit stealing my phone to take pictures. We've done picture scavenger hunts, and she loves editing photos and putting a pigs nose or sombrero on anyone she can.

Grandpa's are great for stories. Hyrum was captivated until Grandpa took out his pocket knife... then he ran for his life.

Gabby got to have a BBQ birthday with sprinkler and slip and slide. We were lucky that the weather turned sunny at the last minute. The kids couldn't get enough of the water.

Especially Lulu!

We were invited camping up in Carson with lots of friends this weekend. The Klingers were so awesome to open up their home and property for our use. They set up a projector and the kids watched Kung Fu Panda while we sat around the fire. It was really relaxing. Hyrum "loved the dogs and motorcycles the best" (They were really ATVs)

Having a heart to heart with Jada.

Giggling with her friends on her last day of preschool. I am so sad. Kindergarten here we come!

We love Miss Carolyn!

Milestones and other stuff

This seemed to be the week of firsts. Gabriella learned how to ride her bike without training wheels on our outing to the park for family night. She still gets scared and forgets to watch where she's going (that pole came out of nowhere!), but she is doing really great.
First haircut-compliments of Gabriella. This is how I found LaurieAnn Saturday afternoon along with a pile of hair. I seriously left the kids for two minutes. Gabby cut her own hair (not too bad, she just has some cute layers now) and Lulu's piggy's. She is still cute even with those stubs.

The repair.

Love the new bangs girlfriend! Gabby cried pretty hard when I made her empty her piggybank to pay for the haircuts.

Okay, so it wasn't my first mother's day. But it was my first handmade mothers day gift. Look at this beauty of a broach that I have been wearing ever since. Bling!

First time Hyrum emptied the dishwasher. I didn't get a picture, but this was taken on mother's day. And what better gift to give your mother than help around the house. I woke up and he announced he had unloaded the silverware and put it away for me. I couldn't bring myself to tell him they were dirty....

You guys all know I am way into repurposing clothes. I found several ideas online for making shirt dresses, and decided to try my hand at one. This is one of Doug's old dress shirts that was torn.

Perfect summer dress for Gabriella. I love how it turned out!

Update

I have finally spent some time on the computer today to catch up on some 50+ emails and update my blog. The first three pictures are from Doug's surgery about ten days ago. The surgery was fine, but Doug reacted to the anesthesia and had a seizure while he was coming out. Scary. I felt like I was watching something on television. For those who don't know-Doug tore his ACL and did some meniscis damage to his knee back in December. Chalk another one up to church ball. Things are fine now and finally getting back to normal after the demolition of our house and all that. The goal is to be off crutches by the end of the week. Here are some photos of the damage. Again I apologize, my camera is on its last leg.

Easter photos. I loved these costco fairy dresses.

Sleeping in a fort while mom and dad work on the new floors.

Yummy dinner mom! I thought this was so cute because you can only see the pigtails.
