Jonah's Birthday Party

Last Wednesday afternoon we had a birthday party for Jonah. We had a sports theme. The boys had a slam dunk contest and a one-on-one contest. Scott moved the trampoline onto the basketball court so the boys could dunk. We had our pitching machine out to do pop flies with tennis balls for the boys to catch. We had baseball games and football activities planned but the had so much fun with basketball we didn't have time to do everything. Each of the boys had two cupcakes and a candle to blow out after we sang Happy Birthday to Jonah. The weather was perfect and all his friends showed up!

City League Basketball

Scott coached Jonah and Noah's city basketball teams. Noah's league was easier than the traveling team games. Noah's team, the Suns, went undefeated and usually beat the other teams by 20 plus points. Noah and his friend Jayce were on the same team and they were the 5th graders on the 6th grade traveling team. Noah is a good point guard and is able to score and assist on the fast breaks. Noah's team is coed and everyone has to play at least half of the game. It was fun. Jonah's league doesn't keep score. It is for 3rd and 4th graders. There is a ref but he is there to make sure no one gets too hurt. No double dribbling or traveling is called so kids walk all over the court. Jonah is the best guard in the league, he never travels or double dribbles. He was our leading scorer. Now baseball starts and Scott is making a leap to help coach in the major leagues. Luckily Noah and Jonah get to be on the same team! Ezra starts pitching machine. Scott and I put up our batting cage on Friday to get ready for his team to have batting practice at our house. It took 4 hours to set up!

Jonah's Blue and Gold Banquet

Jonah and Scott made a cake that looked like a kite for his Cub Scout banquet. Jonah received his Wolf badge. The new stake cubmaster asked two men to hold him upside down so I could pin on his badge then he had to do a good deed to turn it the right way. When I did cubs we turned the boys when they received their bobcat but Jonah loved it anyway. We had a lot of fun as a family and the boys ate lots of cake!
