Utah Lake 6/15/11

I took my Priest quorum out to Utah Lake for the evening. We went out of Provo Harbor and spent the evening there. My numbers kept growing and growing until we ended up with 12 boys and 2 leaders for 1 boat. We ended up splitting into 2 groups and leaving a group to play on shore while the other was in the boat. Jack Zarbock wakeboarded and the others all tubed. Many of the boys had never been on a boat before. That is one of the greatest times on the boat when I can introduce somebody to one of the things I love most.

The boat had it's first real test to see if it was running correctly. With the wedge down, fat sacks full and 10 guys in the boat, it ran perfectly! That was such a relief.

We had a great time together.

Utah Lake 6/4/11

Chelsea brought the Hammond kids with us to Utah Lake for the day. We were testing out the kids new wetsuits. The wetsuits worked great and the boat ran like it should again. The water wasn't the best, but it was good to get back on the water.

Jordanelle 5/14/11

Tara and her kids and Chelsea accompanied us up to Jordanelle to test the boat out after taking in to be fixed. The weather was beautiful! The air was a little chilly and the water was a cold 55 degrees. We had dinner on a glassy lake that we had to ourselves.

The good news was that the boat seemed to run perfectly!

Lake Powell 4/28-30/11

We had our first work weekend on the houseboat at Lake Powell. Roger and I drove down late Thursday night pulling my trailer full of matresses and new sleeping pads. Roger spend all day prepping all the railing for paint while I repaired all the electrical issues on the boat. I replaced fans, light bulbs and other general issues. I also added new spot lights to the back of the boat. Doug Richards and the Koch's arrived Friday afternoon and painted all the railing and outside deck. The boat looks great. We also moved it to a new slip.

The wind blew and blew, but the mornings were calm and it beat the 6" of snow that fell in Draper while I was gone.

Sand Hollow 4/21/11

We went back to Sand Hollow to test the boat. I tried a few different things, but the boat still wasn't running right. It's a good thing it was windy because the boat wouldn't pull anybody.

At least we used the time to teach JT and Chaz how to drive the boat. They did everything by themselves.

Sand Hollow 4/19/11

We went to Sand Hollow over spring break. This year has been really cold and spring has been late coming. We went to the lake and it was cold and a little windy. Chelsea, Mark and Carolyn came with us. The water was really cold and by the time Mark got behind the boat, the boat started acting up again. It wouldn't pull him out of the water. Frustrating day at the lake.
