Halloween Night

Sorry! I am a bit late posting these pictures. Halloween night was a lot of fun! Although I have to say that I spent most of the evening killing and taking cover from the MONSTER mosquitos. I have NEVER in my life seen them as bad as they were Tuesday night.

Gavin II had a blast trick or treating. Nana and Papa and Juju and Pappy came over to watch Gavin II and hand out the candy while we trick or treated. Gavin II was really into it - in fact, he tried to go to the same couple houses over and over. We had to expalin that you only go once to each house! Can't balme a kid for trying!

Happy Halloween!

He looked so cute for school this morning. He thought he should wear his Thomas costume to school but we settled for the pumpkin shirt. Happy Halloween!!

Badonkadonk Trouble....

Gavin II loves the Trace Adkins song "Badonkadonk". If you haven't heard it, you should. It's really a funny song. He listens to it every time we get in the truck - he requests it by name. I made the mistake of telling him that badonkadonk means "butt". Well, he went to school today and shared his newfound knowledge with his teacher and classmates. When Nana picked him up, Ms. Whitney told her that Gavin needed to stop talking about badonkadonk with the other kids...oops!!!

A Visit With An Old Friend

Gavin II and Mary
Betsy and Tess (whom she affectionately refers to as "Helga" - she says that she looks like a viking)

Gavin II and Mary in the very manly Barbie car....

I met Betsy when she took over as moderator of the Mount Carmel cheerleaders. She was only about 24....she still wore her sorority shirts to our practices. We kept in touch but we reconnected recently when I called her - back in August. Then, when we decided to go to Hattiesburg, we set up a visit! I was so happy that we were able to visit with her and her beautiful children! I'm telling you - she is as southern as southern comes! We did not get to meet her husband...he's an OB-GYN in Hattiesburg and was on call. Gavin II had a ball playing with Mary and Tess. Daddy had a blast playing fetch with "Jess Bell".

Chrishelle, Kerri, Natalie - she asked about you all. She has a great memory and was so glad to hear that you all are doing well. She looks and talks EXACTLY the same.

And Finally....Yes, More USM....

We stopped at Turtle Creek and I had to take a picture of this cake. First, notice the spelling of Congratulations. Second, who says "congratulations on the baby"?
Sorority Village...all I can say is...WOW! I am so jealous. The houses are going to be HUGE. Panhellenic certainly pales in comparison.
Gavin amazed by it all... The Courtyard outside of the Power House Grill - done like the French Quarter

More USM...

Finding Southern Miss acorns

We had to take a picture of Gavin II by the Walker Science Building. Gavin had the idea that it would be so neat to have this picture of Gavin if he ended up going to USM. How cool would it be to take a picture of him in 15 years in the same spot on campus.

Trust me, we told him all weekend that he was going to Southern Miss for college. Then we had to explain what college is, why you live there, etc. etc.!

Can You Believe This is USM?!

The COMMONS!!!

After hearing Joe Paul speak several weeks ago, we really wanted to see the new and improved USM. So, Gavin, me and Gavin II went to Hattiesburg Saturday afternoon just to get away and see the campus. The East Carolina game was Saturday night but we didn't go. We really just wanted to see the improved campus. We walked around and were just astounded at the campus. It is unbelievable! We just kept saying how amazed we were. We want to know how to re-enroll as a freshman!

Boo At The Zoo

After school/work today, we went over to Boo at the Zoo. It's always such a cute setup. Gavin II loves it - of course, he loves everything!! He had a Halloween party today at school so the costume was already in place. We even got to ride the Ghost Train this year. We went right as it was getting dark so it was a little scary for Gavin II but he did great - after he crawled on top of me in the train. There was even a dance performance that the train stopped for - very cute! The scariest part was the people popping out with chainsaws. To be fair, though, they did say that it would be scary for kids under 8.

I just thought the "1st Aid & Lost Kids" sign was funny!

Picking Out The Pumpkin 2006

Tonight we went and picked out our 2006 Pumpkin at the St. Augustine pumpkin patch. We go every year. Juju and Pappy met us there and they picked out theirs as well. Gavin ran around looking for the pumpkin with "the right shape". If we showed him one, he would tell us that it was not the right shape! He finally picked out the one that he is holding with Juju. Pappy is holding the one that he picked out.

I love Halloween. The next few months are my dad and I's FAVORITE time of year. We can't wait until it starts getting cooler. There's just something in the air that gives you that fall feeling. We love it! I love that Gavin II is so into these things now. He is at such a fun age - although all of his ages have been fun!!! :)

Dino Of The Week

Gavin II is "Dino of the Week" at Edisen House this week! Each week, a different child is signed up by their parent to be dino of the week. On Monday, he brings a poster all about himself. The one on the left is Gavin's poster. Yes, Chrishelle, you're on it! Wednesday, he brings a snack for the whole class. Friday, a friend or family member can come to school and read a few of his favorite books to his class. Fun Week!

Precious, adorable Kate in her Halloween outfit!

I think this is Jack's signal for "done!"

There were so many kodak moments! :)

More Partyin'....

In the picture where Gavin is sitting on the ground, notice the large wet area behind him. My dad had to use wasp spray to kill a wasp nest in the shelter. There were actually two. Anyway, after he sprayed them, there were about 20 dead wasps on the ground. Good thing - Gavin didn't want another "bee stung".

The kids and parents enjoyed the children taking picture withe the large monkey..too cute!

The cakes....compliments of...the cake lady. It was YUMMY!!!

Jack's Birthday Party

Baby Maddie. She is precious and was just an angel!! She looks JUST like Courtney!! She slept most of the time. I was so glad that I got to meet her! Courtney looks wonderful!

Cousin Ray!
Jack in his adorable monkey outfit - to match the party's theme of course!

Juju, Gavin and Jack playing at the park!

Jack's party was Saturday at Lafreniere Park. It was really a nice party! The rain came right at 3pm. Scott predicted another event down to the minute!!! The party was from 1-3pm. If you don't know Scott, when he says he'll be there at 6:38 - that's when he'll be there!!

We had a shelter at the park and the decorations were so cute. There were also lots of kiddos there...a lot of kiddos who you may have seen before...on other blogs!
