I Resigned
After a really stressful week, I came to the decision that I needed to transfer back to the hospital. I am officially leaving the allergy department. My clinicals have to be M-F 8-5 and that is the same time that I work in clinic. So, after exploring every option and realizing that if I cut my hours to PT in the cliic my benefits doubled, I decided that I needed to go back to (3) 12-hour shifts 3 times per week. It's better money and better flexibility. So, that's where I am and I feel GREAT about it. Dr. Davis was super supportive and told me that I was making exactly the right decision. My manager was also really supportive. So, I have applied for a mother/baby position and possibly some other ones....I'll keep you all posted. I don't remember if I asked anyone for prayers but thank you if you prayed for me!

Blogger Play Date
Look at everyone and all those KIDDOS!
These two are 5 days apart and are 4 months old. Andrew (left) started to cry, then Camryn (right) started to cry!
Camryn wanted to comfort Andrew by placing his hand gently on his leg :) TOO CUTE!Sunday, a bunch of us girl bloggers got together with our kids for a big play date. Kerri came in wth her 3 kids from Texas so we arranged the play date around being able to visit with her. Most of us were Pi Phis together at USM. I looked at the group picture and thought - wow! We were all in college not that many years ago and look at everyone now - and look at the KIDS!! They are are all precious and I really enjoyed meeting the babies that I had not met yet but only knew through the blogs :)

It was great because mostly all of my aunts and uncles stopped in. Mike and Kristal also made it over! We had a lot of fun talking and visiting with everyone.
I was proud of mysef because I did not get emotional when we had to tell them goodbye. Of course I will miss Scott and Jenn but I am REALLY gonna miss Jack!! He was sooooo funny this weekend. We spent Saturday evening with them as well and he makes me laugh. Gavin II and him had so much fun playing together. Gavin II was very sad when we had to leave on Sunday. We'll be anxiously awaiting the holidays!!

Part I - Over!
Just an update. I had the upper and lower parts of the right side of my mouth "scaled/planed" at the dentist today. Gavin II told me to be a big girl this morning. I was a big girl and was brave even though every bone in my body told me to cancel my appt.
It really was not that bad. She put topical gel on my gums to numb me before the shot to give me a "block". Well, the topical stuff worked so I refused the shots. She asked if I was sure. I was. It really wasn't bad without anesthesia - it was not a whole lot worse than a cleaning - just deeper. Gavin loaded the IPOD with "Sherry" songs and I listened to music during the procedure to de-stress. I was super nervous! She told me that I was a good patient. It only took about 35-40 minutes. I go back soon to have the left side done.
The hygienist was great and she is doing the left side, too. I requested that I have her! She was great!!
By the way, Scott and Jenn's going away party was Sunday - pictures are coming probably tomorrow. Classes started today and I have been gathering my info and due dates for my classes all evening. I am really excited to start my maternal/child classes and clinical this semester!

I Am Not Ashamed!

I am not afraid to admit that I was looking forward to watching the Disney Channel's "High School Musical 2" premier tonight. It was cute. Gavin II and I like the songs in it...mommy particularly enjoys watching Zac Efron. Seriously, this is how 19-year-old boys are made these days.....wow! He made this month's cover of Rolling Stone...nice!

Meet Dylan Walker

My dad found Dylan online at http://www.littlepawskennel.com/ and fell in love! So, today, he drove 4 hours to pick him up and 4 hours home. We stopped to see him, of course, on the way home! He is SOOOO CUTE!!! He is tiny, tiny! He is 8 weeks old and just adorable. Gavin II was just in awe of how small he is! He was hugging him and playing with him. Dylan seems to be adjusting very well. After a few minutes of walking around, he was getting VERY playful. Anyway, his name is Dylan for now because that is what the kennel had already named him. They are not sure if he's going to keep it or not. Gavin thinks they should name him Britannica (get it - Webster, Britannica) and call him "Brit" - but that's a girl name!
Any ideas for a name? Gavin II likes Dylan and does NOT think it should be changed.
My Gator!

Today was Gavin's orientation day at Country Day. He only went for an hour and daddy had to go, too. I could not go - I was so sad that I could not be there. The other nurse took off today so I was the only nurse in clinic with two doctors. Anyway, daddy got all of the valuable information and met his new teachers. He had a great morning and says that the teachers are fun! I can't believe that next year will be kindergarten!!! He was a Dino last year and this year he is a gator.
The gators are the last year before kindergarten and the last year they go to Edisen House (after the Edisen House, they move to lower school in the Country Day main building) , so last year Gavin always associated the Gators with the "big boys". This morning, I said "You're a gator!" and he got kind-of sad and said "Am I still small, though?" When I told him yes, he said "but are all my friends small, too? Do they look the same as when we were dinos?" I don't think he associated himself with being one of the "big kids".

Meet Miss Audrey

These are pictures of my friend Val's baby girl, Audrey. I used to work with Val in the hospital on the peds floor. She stopped to see me in the clinic after their pediatrician appointment. I was so happy to see them! Miss Audrey is one month old. She is such a precious little peanut. The newborn stage is revisited for Val and her husband, Chris - her other daughter just left for college at Southeastern!! I got to hold her and oh that baby smell! It gets to me every time :)

Congrats Mike and Kristal!
The Last Stop In Mobile

On our way back from Gulf Shores, we stopped in to see Aunt Jenn, Uncle Scott, and Jack. We realized that it would be our last time at their cute little house in Mobile, Alabama. It is also the last time we would see Jennifer before they leave - we will see Scott and Jack next weekend. It was bittersweet. We really enjoyed our visits to Mobile. We will be back there in October for my GYN exams at USA :) but they won't be there. It's going to be strange without them there!
Anyway, here are a few pics of Gavin and Jack playing. It was so hard to get a good picture of them! One of them would move every time they were in a cute pose! They were so cute playing together - running after each other and laughing :) I can't tell you how many time I heard "watch this, Jack!" Then, at one point, Gavin called for Jack but he was getting his diaper changed. Gavin yells "Jaaaaaack" "Jaaaaaaack", then Jack (from the changing table in another room) yells back "Naaaaannin". He calls him Nannin. Too cute!!
We sure are going to miss you all! I am so glad that you all have a blog :)

Weekend Getaway :)
Gavin II and daddy admiring a sand castle built earlier in the day (by someone else)
So pretty when the sun is going down :)
My honey (still in 1/2 work clothes :)Gavin, myself, and Gavin II all start school really soon. So, last week we decided (well, I decided) that we need family time and a mini vacation :) So, I made reservations in Gulf Shores for the weekend! Gavin and I took 1/2 day at work Friday and we hit the road about 2:30 pm. we made it to Gulf Shores around 5:30 pm and had dinner. Then, we checked into our hotel and then took a short jaunt to the beach because it was an absolute necessity that Gavin II see the beach the moment that we arrived at "the beach".
