Black Friday 2008

Here are Daddy and Gavin II at 4 am as we are about to go into Lakeside. We also had to take a picture as we passed Lakeside Pets in the mall - even the birds were still asleep!

Update

So, we woke up at 3:00 am and were out of the house at 3:50 am. Gavin II popped out of bed at 3 am and was ready to go! We hit Lakeside Mall at 4:0o am and got to the Disney Store. We then went to Toys R' Us (I will NEVER go back there on Black Friday) and quickly left. We hit Target at 6 am and then went to various other stores. We shopped non-stop until 6 pm tonight. Gavin II went full speed the WHOLE time and did so well - without a nap! I am sure that next year, I will look back on this and wonder how I did it 7 months pregnant!
It is now 8 pm and we are getting ready for bed and Gavin II wants to know WHY he has to go to bed SO early!
We found great sales today and I am happy to say that we finished all of our shopping :) How great is that!

Just About 28 weeks

I am just about to enter the 7th month of my pregnancy and I feel great! We are getting more excited and anxious with each passing day. I, personally, feel like he is much lower than he was several weeks ago - my mom tells me all the time how low I am all of a sudden. Walker remains very active and likes to let me know that he is there :) He makes me smile! We talk to him all the time. I cannot wait to meet him! 12 weeks to go!

Thanksgiving Day 2008

We had lunch with Nana and PaPa today at 11:00 am. It was such yummy food and great company! I feel terrible that I forgot to take pictures of our lunch! Thanks to Nana and PaPa for sharing a wonderful lunch with us.

After lunch, we went to Covington to see my extended family. It was great to see everyone :) Gavin I had a great time connecting with his 1st grader cousin Sarah. They were walking all around chatting and everyone was snapping pics of them. They were so cute! We did have to let Gavin know that they are cousins, though. Try explaining "2nd cousins" to a 5-year-old.
It was a great day - Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
P.S. - We are getting up at 3 am and heading to the mall and other stores by 4 am for Black Friday. We'll take pictures....Gavin II cannot WAIT! He tried to go to bed at 6 pm tonight to make sure that he got enough rest for shopping. I had to tell him to get up and go eat dinner!

Happy Birthday, JUJU!

We want to wish my mom, Juju, a VERY happy 62nd Birthday :) Thank you, mom, for all of your love and support. We love you very much. Thank you for all that you do for us! You're the best and we love you!

Happy Birthday!!

Scott, you're slacking this year - I beat you on the phone call this morning AND the blog post. I am GOOD!

Thanksgiving Morning 2008

This is the chocolate cake that Gavin II helped make and then he decorated ALL by himself! He had so much fun with the icing :)

This morning, we had the arrival of our "Elf on the Shelf" who Gavin II named Frisbee. I CANNOT believe how effective this little elf is on behavior! Gavin is completely fascinated by him. He will not get too close but is SO curious! It's a really cute idea. We read the book last week to get acquainted and then e showed up this morning to start the Christmas season :)
Anyway, we are having lunch here with Gavin's parents and then we are going to Covington to spend some time with my family. We will have more pictures later as well a a new pregnancy progression picture. We wish everyone a very HAPPY Thanksgiving :)

Hiccups!

I realize that I have not posted much about my pregnancy but my head has been spinning lately with my graduation nearing. I am doing well - my BP is still great (110/70 for those who care), my weight gain is great and I have not one bit of swelling on me. Apparently, again, I am all baby. My OB tells me at every appt. that he has nothing to fuss at me about! Walker is doing fantastic and grwoing quite well if I go by the growing size of my belly! Yesterday, it made me smile ear to ear because he got the hiccups for the first time. So cute!!! I am really getting excited about meeting him and holding him. The more I work in Newborn Nursery, the more I want him here!

Mmmmmm......

Whole Foods finally started carrying a soy cheese that does not contain a form of milk. Gavin is REALLY picky about trying new foods being that he has been restricted for so long. We were very skeptical that he would like this cheese. I told him, though, that I wanted him to try the cheese for the first time on a grilled cheese. I made it just like a regular grilled cheese...bread, soy butter, and the soy cheese in a pan. It came out GREAT! The best part, he LOVED it!!! Thank God!

Mission Completion!

I am completely done with my 240 clinical hours! I am so excited but also kind of sad to be leaving the clinic where I trained for 15 months. I completed my hours on Saturday. So, I am also pretty much done with my school work. Now, I wait until December 6th when I officially graduate and become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner!!!!! I am so proud of that title!!! YAY!!

Good Times at the St. Clement Fair

We stopped by the St. Clement fair this evening for a little while - it was pretty chilly so we only stayed about an hour. In order to help alleviate the disappointment from not winning a fish, I quickly bought him 2 cans of silly string - it did the trick! Judge for yourself but I think Daddy may have had as much fun as little Gavin spraying the string :) They're so cute!

Ribbon Cutting

They were actually filming a movie at the hospital - "Alabama Moon" with John Goodman. This picture shows some of the movie production trucks. Ochsner in Kenner is apparently a popular movie spot - they also filmed the Lifetime movie "Living Proof" with Harry Connick, Jr. at Ochsner Kenner as well.

Saturday was Ochsner's ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration for their renovated ER at the Kenner Hospital. Since it is a minute from our house, Gavin II and I stopped by for a few minutes but it was so cold that Gavin II wanted to leave. Well, he got to see the helicoptor - that was pretty cool :)

Happy 65th PaPa!

We threw Gavin's dad a surprise party today for his 65th birthday (which was Friday). We think that he was really surprised. Some family members made it into town which meant a lot - including his sister. It was great and it was so nice to see everyone :) Gavin II had a blast visiting with everyone and soaking up the attention - especially since he was the ONLY kid there
Happy Birthday, PaPa!

Harvard Bound?

Thanks to Cici, Kirk, and Morgan for the precious shirt - he looks so cute in it!

Halloween Night 2008

" Frankenstein" the pumpkin (named by Gavin II)
" Dracula" (the pumpkin decorated and named by Gavin II. Nana and PaPa gave him a pumpkin decorating kit and he used it to make this pumpkin!)

Going out trick or treating
Shaun in his gorilla suit
These two were laughing and pointing at Daddy - Gavin II had a kick seeing them dressed as Optimus Prime, too!

Gavin and "Dracula"

Just relaxing!

Last night, we had a GREAT night! Juju, Pappy, Nana, PaPa, and Uncle Shaun came over for Halloween night fun! We all sat out in the driveway, ate rice krispy treats, and passed out candy. Shaun scared most of the kids in his gorilla costume and it was really funny. The kids would not really see him until they got up close and then they would freak out. It was pretty funny! Some kids were really brave and went up and gave him a high-five - even some little ones! It was a fun night - Happy Halloween!!

Gavin II's Kindergarten Halloween 2008!

There he is - Optimus Prime - he is in the red and blue transformer costume coming through the door

Halloween Twister!

Halloween Bingo!

Gavin and Don Diego

So cute!!!

Friday morning, Gavin and I went to school for the annual Halloween Parade. It was so cute! Gavin decided to dress like a transformer and the costume was just adorable on him :) They had their parade and then congregated on the stairs in the atrium and sang Halloween songs. Nana was able to be there, too, since she is a teacher there and would not have missed it!

After all those activities, I volunteered at his Halloween party in his classroom. It was great - they focus more on fun, academic activities rather than loading them up on sugar. I did send some Halloween cupcakes that were really cute. They ate them up, too. The kids NEVER realize that they are wheat-free because I use Pillsbury icing ;) It was a really cute day for them! I left just as they headed to lunch.
