Holt's Eye Surgery

For those of you who don't know, Holt has had a clogged tear duct since he was born. We were hoping and praying he would outgrow it, but unfortunately he did not, so he had to have it surgically fixed. It has been a long journey of eye infections and eye issues, so I am glad to finally have relief for Holt. And praise the Lord for an awesome opthmalogist who loving and carefully took care of our little man. He even had his sister do Holt's anesthesia! And she was awesome too!
We went in for surgery last Wednesday morning at 6:30 am. We filled out all the paperwork, and they took him back about 7:30 am. Thankfully, he was so distracted that he did not even notice he was getting nothing to eat or drink. The surgery went great. They were able to open up the duct with two different wires without any difficulties. And a huge answer to prayer was the fact that they did not have to leave anything in. He is on an antibiotic and eye drops for a week, and then we go in for a follow up appointment in a couple days. His eye looks great, and apart from the bloody nose and a little fussiness he hasn't had many issues. So thanks to all for your sweet prayers on his and our behalf!

Leaders Retreat

The Village Church Group Leaders Retreat was this last weekend, and Kevin and I were able to get away to it thanks to Kevin's parents. It was our first night away from Holt, so it was hard leaving him, but it was a much needed get away. It was a great time of fellowship, teaching, and worship. We got to catch up with friends and meet a lot of new people. It was just great for me and Kevin to be able to spend that quality time together. Especially since this week is going to be hectic and crazy with Holt's eye surgery coming up on Wednesday. Please be in prayer for us and for Holt. Pray for much peace for us and for much safety for Holt as he goes under anesthesia and for the Lord to guide the doctors hand.

10 months old and counting!

I can't believe Holt is 10 months and about to be 11 months and then ONE!! It doesn't seem right!! It seems like such a long time ago that he was born, and yet it has gone by so fast. He is such a sweetheart. He is definitely on the go. Just the other day he broke one of our lamps. I hope it is not signs to come :) He is walking, and has found that he can climb up on the couch which I am not really happy about. He thinks he is bigger and more developed than he is. He can say "mama" and "ball". Every now and then he musters a "da", but not "dada" yet. Which is funny to me b/c Noelle's first word was "dada". Holt is definitely a very happy, relaxed baby. His reflux is still getting better. We do need to go get him allergy tested, because his ezcema has started to flair back up again. I am really hoping he is not allergic to wheat. I am hoping it is just an intolerance, and something he will outgrow. But we will see. I still can't believe I have two kids. My baby is getting so big!

Did I say climb?!? Cause I am pretty sure that is what this little man LOVES to do!
