Georgia Trip
We went to Altanta this past weekend for Josh's cousin's wedding and had a wonderful quick-trip to see all of the fam! We have been so blessed to be able to see Josh's side of the family almost every month this past year! The trip started with us leaving Thursday evening and staying with our friends, Matt and Amber, in Flower Mound, right by the airport. James had fun with his buddy Sam, and we had a great time visiting with them. Friday morning, we flew out to Atlanta. James did pretty well on the way up there, but was squirmy and constantly went back and forth from Mama to Daddy. We spent Friday with Papa-Joe. We went to a really pretty park, and James observed everything there was to observe. His favorite thing was the turtle, and his least favorite was the frog statue. Check out my photos to see evidence of this! He really loves his Papa Joe, and would fuss when he would go away. Papa Joe has a calming affect on James, and he would just let him hold him for as long as he wanted!
After that, we headed over to Aunt Ally's house to spend the night. James was very happy to see his Nana Anna, whom he'd just gotten to spend a week with (new blog on that below), his favorite twins, Jess and Jen (Jen is one of his girlfriends), Aunt Ally, Uncle Eddie, Paul, Mama Gloria, Auntie Jo Anna, Hannah, and Uncle Charles. We ate a yummy dinner, Nana Anna style!
Saturday was the wedding of Josh's cousin, Marissa. Saturday morning, Josh and I woke up around 9/9:30 ish, and found James entertaining all of the girls upstairs in the playroom. He ate up being the center of attention and did a lot of his tricks for them. There was keyboard music going on in the background, and James would be walking around, and then would stop and break out into dance, and then just keep going about his way! He also was walking around on his feet and head to get them to laugh. Everyone kept asking for kisses over and over, so he'd roll around to someone, open his mouth for a kiss, get one, and then move on to something else. He knows he's cute! The wedding was beautiful...from what I heard. I was in the nursery with James, but Marissa looked so beautiful and we couldn't be happier for them!
Saturday night, we went back over to Papa Joe's, met up with Jo Anna, Jerrod, Amy, Charles, and all of the cousins for some football watching. I was very happy that I got the other out-laws, Amy and Charles to root for Alabama with me! Josh was very disappointed in Amy, and she had lots of fun cheering very loudly for Alabama the whole time just to get at him. (Thanks again, Amy!:)) Sadly, Alabama lost, but I still was a little happy for Josh. :)
Sunday, we went to church and lunch with Papa Joe, and then Josh headed off to a Falcons game with his brother, Jerrod. Jo Anna and Hannah came over to hang out with James and me (Joe had a speaking engagement) at the house. James said his first three word sentence with them there (he makes a lot of developmental leaps when we're in Atlanta). He was obsessed (no exaggeration) with the "choo-choo" that goes behind Papa Joe's house often and very fast. Every time it would pass, he'd say, "Weh doe?" and several times he said, "Weh doe choo-choo?".
We left early this morning, and we are all wiped out! James ate more than he's ever eaten tonight (a full meal, 4 different vegetables, 2 fruits, and a full yo-baby!), so maybe he will wake up a couple of inches taller tomorrow! I'm going to continue to work on pictures. Hope everyone has a great week!
Nana Anna trip
I have been such a bad blogger lately, but I wanted to be sure and record Nana Anna's trip out to see us for a week! James loved having his Nana there to spoil him (and us) all week! She got in lots of cuddle time by rocking him to sleep, she got up with him every morning and let his mommy sleep in (totally loved that), cooked for us, bought James a fire truck, watched James so his mommy and daddy could go on a date, and many many more things. Speaking of our date, we went to see 3:10 to Yuma, and it was a GREAT western. I absolutely loved it (and Josh, of course, did!). James is so blessed to have a nana like Nana Anna. She is so devoted to her grand-kids, and we are very thankful for her. Here are some pictures.

House Divided
This has been rivalry week for Josh and me. Tomorrow, our teams are playing each other. Josh's team is Georgia, mine is Alabama. I hate being divided. I really just don't want to watch the game. We're in Georgia this weekend (around a bunch of bulldog fans :)), but I'm not sure we'll get to watch a lot of the game because of a wedding. Josh says that we won't root against each other's teams, just for our teams. We really do both love and have respect for each other's teams.

Here's the hard part...Who will be James' #1? I, who was born in Alabama, carried him for 40 weeks and 1 day and gave birth to him! His granddaddy got his undergraduate and masters degrees there, and taught there. On the other hand, Josh is his daddy, and I'm sure he's going to want to be just like his daddy, just like my brother and sister and I did because of our daddy. Only time will tell. I do realize that it doesn't look good for me, though. :)

James with his Deedah, Alabama's #1 fan.

James with his daddy, Georgia's cutest fans. (I think James looks pretty sharp in Crimson! What do you think?)

Won't be doing that again!!
It was not your ordinary Saturday. Wife does something not very smart. Husband reacts with much patience, but is still very frustrated (rightfully so). What am I talking about you ask?
After seeing husband's wallet in her car this morning, wife tossed husband's wallet on top of the trunk of his car on my (whoops...wife's) way to go shopping this morning, intending to call him right away and tell him, but wife got distracted by child in the back seat and forgot all about it!
Meets husband at lunch, husband asks, "Do you have my wallet? I can't find it anywhere!" Wife says, "Yeah..I ....Oh...Oh NO!" Husband goes searching with wife's brother(who's in town), to no avail. Wife and wife's mother take their turn, planning to walk miles from home to the restaurant to try and find it. Wife says, "Let's check the machine to see if some nice person has called and said they found it." They walk in the house...They see a blinking light...Their hopes are high...The voice on the machine is a neighbor saying "I'm on my way to Paris...I found your wallet...about $6 in there, a credit card, a debit card, etc." This guy was hilarious. Really nice guy and a big jokester. We had just taken out all of our money for the week (we use cash only), so there was obviously more than $6 in there, and yes, it was all there.

Here's the BEST part of the story. He tells me (okay it was me), "About a year ago, I had my address book with a bunch of money in it on my car, it fell off, and someone right around where you live found it!" I said, "I think that was me...yeah, it was me!" He said, "I thought so!". How cool is that?! We joked that we'd keep an eye out for each other when we drove by from now on.
Let this be a warning to you all out there! Thankfully, this ended happily, but I will NEVER do that again!
One more thing, ROLL TIDE!!!
I do love Arkansas, but Bama is my first love! The game tonight was a great game and about as exciting as you can get!

What's new...
-Thursday night was my first day back at work. I thoroughly enjoyed getting back into it!! I absolutely LOVE going to the teacher supply store, so I picked out a couple of things there and had a blast decorating my room the rest of the day. As much as I love staying home with James, I also love to get out of the house a couple of days a week and use my degree, socialize, have a routine, etc. We had "meet the teacher" night Thursday night, and I can already tell I'm going to have an incredibly sweet class. I'll have 9 pre-schoolers, which is 1 less than last year...7 girls and 2 boys! I'm about to go back up to church right now and do some more things to the room. I am really looking forward to Tuesday, our first day back. I have to mention how bittersweet it is to move James up to the 1's class. I, of course, want him to move up and be with his buddies, but when I look in the nursery, it makes me a little sad!
-I keep forgetting to mention that I have a missing tooth right now! First time since elementary school I guess! The first big molar on the bottom right side was a crown/root canal tooth, and I barely had any tooth to hold it in. What little tooth I have is chipping away slowly but surely, so that crown has fallen out and will be replaced by an implant! I go for my first appointment in about 2 weeks. I'm so read to not be self-conscious about smiling, eating, etc.
-James is changing SO much right now. Josh and I have both really noticed it lately, and he's really turning into a big boy! He likes to pretend he's going "nigh-nigh" and will put his head down, or sometimes in strange places, like leaning against a door, and say "nigh-nigh". Yesterday he looked in the mirror and said, "Baby?...Baby!" I still haven't figured out if he knows its him or just a baby. How is it that he can be getting cuter and cuter in his personality, more fun than ever, but at the same time, more of a stinker than ever? I am seeing glimpses of the terrible 2's starting already! His favorite word hands down in "no-no!" Going out to eat is harder than ever...almost not worth it! Still, he's more of a joy with every week that passes! I think God planned it that way to get us through. :)
Gotta run up to church. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
